  1. If the 8 year old you are referring to busted weight in the peewee division then he would have played in the junior division not the senior division. So he would be playing against 9 and 10 year olds.
  2. We will follow UIL rules for calling or postponing a game. If a game is postponed, we will not push the whole schedule back a week, the game or games will be looked at and determined if they have any affect on the play-offs or seeding. If they need to be played they will be rescheduled.
  3. AllSportsMom, With all due respect, I was at the board meeting the night your friends presented their case. I am not going to say that we have the best rules to fit every situation that will arise, but we have put a lot of time and effort into making them. We did tell them that this by-law would be reviewed and if changes need to be made then we would propose changing it. They were also told that there was a league in Buna that they could more thatn likely participate in. So the fact that we told them that they could not play anywhere out of their district and that the only option was not to play is just not correct, we cannot control were a kid plays outside of STJFL. As far as the requirements that you listed, those were imposed on top of what our by-laws already stated because Beaumont is such a large area. So you would need to go and follow what the by-laws state and then look at what is specific to Beaumont. Hopefully we will get the by-laws revised to better suit our growing league, sometimes change is needed. As far as waivers go the deadline had passed and you cannot waiver a by-law, that is why no waiver was submitted. It is our goal that all kids have an opportunity to play, all kids that meet the requirements of the STJFL by-laws and rules. Obviously we cannot just allow all kids from everywhere to come in and play. The rules are there for a good reason, but sometimes we out grow the rules and need to revise them. With that said we don't realize it until it happens, that we need to revise it. Nathan
  4. Was on the game field today around 4:pm, it was not that wet, depends on how much more rain we get.
  5. You are trying to tell us that Silsbee will be Lumbertons toughest game all year and Silsbee just got ran over by LCM come on Aggie. I know it was just a scrimmage but they don't look that good. I have been to both Sisbee scrimmages and they are OK at best. I thing there are some tougher teams in 4a than Silsbee.
  6. One statistic has been left out, the fact that WOS has done it in 5A, 4A and 3A. Also to the point about Newton being the smallest in 3A that is true and great, but remember WOS was in 4A and one of the smaller in 4A when they were crowned winningest program. Both are great programs.
  7. Bottom line, when you are talking football, WOS has the highest winning percentage in the state of Texas across all classifications. The were deemed the winningest football program in the state. They are ranked 20th in the nation by winning percentage. There were only 3 teams in the top 50 from Texas and none if the teams listed in this post were on there except WOS. So with that said WOS is it period, you can't argue the facts.
  8. From another poster that was there also. coop, wrong info: kirbyville 2 - silsbee 1 ( first teams both ways) johnson one run for about 50+ yds for td, sacked once but no other pos. yd runs. about 4 for 10 on passing for maybe 50 yds . running game wasnt very impressive, kirbyville will be very good in 2 a this year. kirbyville had a 65 yd td run & a 50+ pass play for td. kirbyville defense was better than silsbee d. kirbyville moved the ball on the ground at about 6 to 7 yd average. recievers dropped 2 balls for silsbee. good scrimmage both sides. deweyville went against 2nd teams offense & defenses, did good i left at this point. wos will be favorite again until the other wannabeeeeees nock them off.
  9. Aggie I was there and I don't think you have your score accurate, you might want to check that again. I believe that Kville scored on their first play and on a long pass later.
  10. Topgun, Jr High practice usually does not start until the first day of school.
  11. Epps was a starter on the JV he never played varsity
  12. Toby Forman - WOS 2009 - 3a State Track Champions
  13. I agree MMSLB, Speed and strength and all those other things are great, but if there is no discipline, character and if they are not coachable you have nothing. That should be evedent in a few schools in our area, all the talent and speed in the world and can't hardly win a game.
  14. Then I apologize for the confusion on my part.
  15. Sly, You don't sent you child to a private school if this is who I think it is. That is the reason your son is being denied as was explained at the board meeting. Please don't come on here and start a bunch of mess. There are a lot of kids in the STJFL that go to private schools that play in the district that they live in. But there are none that attend another public school and play in a different district. At least none that we currently know about, nothing is perfect. Please accept the fact that we are going to follow our bylaws on this. We can revisit it during the off season, but for now it is a dead issue. Thanks for understanding.
  16. Part of the problem, from what I understand the booster club is not for the athletic department, correct me if I am wrong here.
  17. Had they not added time to Trey's time he would have set a new 3a regional recored by 2 tenths of a second. With the added time Jeremy would have a 11.1, not a 10.88 he was nowhere close to franks
  18. Trey actually maked a 10.37 inthe 100, but some how the track officials determined that the wind that was blowing almost directly in their face was aiding them in the 100. I am not sure how that happens. But oh well he still go the win by about 5 yards.
  19. Sign ups: When: Saturday may 9th and 16th Time: 10:am- 2:pm Where: Little Cypress - Mauriceville High School Weight Room/Fieldhouse Signing up football players and cheerleaders ages 5-12, 6th grade and under.
  20. tiger, That was Trey's prelim time, he ran a 10.53 in the final
  21. nikespeed You must be one of those bleeding heart liberals that think no one is ever resonsilbe for there actions or that no kid is ever wrong it is always us adults. From what the news reported the kid punched him in the face a few times, and he was treated at the hospital and released. I really don't think the kid was just walking away. Atleast all of the kids that I talked to that watched it happen said he was fighting the officer. I think the officer did what he should have done.
  22. land*shark, The STJFL allows kids to return to there team if it is in the same division. The only way they would have to go back in to the draft every year is if your local association has that in place or if you had an expansion team that year which is a whole other ball of wax.
