After watching these kids from LCM give Pearland Dawson all they could handle in a 7 on 7 tournment in Texas City this summer. All I can say is they are for real. Ozen will have thier hands full containing these kids as well as everyone else in the district. Being a Central fan I'm hoping our game against Livingston gives our kids in the secondary a little more experience to handle the passing game and the D line and linebacking core the oppurtunity to find that old Jaugar knock your "D" in the Dirt mentallity. Say what you want. LCM is the real deal this year and they have waited a long time to get there. And finallly may have done a better job recruiting kids then Hooks has. LCM by 14 over a banged up Ozen thanks to Central.
I really hate to throw this out there, but I say that more than half of the offense is from the Mauriceville area.  Too far out for WOS to recruit anyone, it would be a lot closer for Vidor though.   ;D
No they are from Little Cypress Mauriceville, it is crap like this that keeps us from being as successful as we should be.  We can't seem to come together as one, we always have to bring this Little Cypress or Mauriceville crap into it.  The are LC-M Bears get over it.
2.

LCM is averaging 45 ppg.  Although Ozen possesses some amazing speed, I'm going to say LCM 54 - 12.
Ozen held West Brook to 28 points.  No way in heck LC-M scores 54.  Reyes and Cunnigan is way better that Gonzalez and Sonnier, IMO..
Dont bet on that..
Are you crazy l-train..reyes in on qanother level
I am curious just what are you basing your remark on?
3. Registration for Little Cypress Youth Football Association will be held Saturday May 1st and May 8th. Location will be the LCM field house inside the weight room at the high school. Time will be from 10:00am until 2:00pm Please bring your child with you for sizing
4. The junior weight limit has move to 135, the running back weight did not change.  No changes were made in regard to any other weights.
5. Aggie, you just can't ever seem to get your facts right unless you are talking about silsbee. Hayden Reed's best toss was 59'6" at silsbee.  You were there and still can't get it right. And before you come back and say that I am wrong, I was standing at the shot put ring watching my shot putters throw when he threw it. Please double check yourself before you post
6. He is only a sophomore, give him a little time he will grow some more, and 4.2 might be streatching it, but 4.4 is pretty close.  By the time he graduates in 2 years who knows, he may be 5'11" 180, and trust me he has a vertical and can take a beating and give one.
7. Don't take me wrong PA looked very good, although it is easy to lap the field when you are running 2 relay teams in every relay and 2 to three sprinters in every sprint.
8. Well I am not sure what the suprise was supposed to be, but it must not have showed up.  The only sprint that PA won was the 110 hurdles and that was as close as it has been all year.  WOS finished: 1, 2 and 4 in the hundred with Trey Franks 10.55 (FAT), Justin Thomas 2nd and Colon Janice 4th 1, 2, 3 in the 200 with Trey, Justin Thomas and Mark Roberts 1st in the 4x2 (Mark Roberts, Justin Thomas, Phillip Jones, and Trey Franks Did not run the 4x1 team 2nd in the 110 hurdles and 400 1, 2 in the 800 2nd in the 4x4 Pretty good day for WOS alot of young talent shinning today
9. You can say what you want about where you live the fact remains that we live in Orange.  Half or more of Little Cypress is already annexed by Orange.
10. SportsMom, A child would not skip an entire division,  if he busted weight as a peewee he would move up to junior not senior.
11. dub, To qualify for a Senior Tackle football team the participant must be at the age of (12) twelve years old or under on September 1st.  Participants may not weigh more than 160 lbs. A participant that weighs more than 135 lbs. will be restricted to a down lineman position tackle to tackle on offense, between the tackles on defense, and line of scrimmage kick off receive only.  A participant who is twelve (12) on September 1 that will turn thirteen (13) before May 30 of the following year must not exceed the weight of 125 lbs.  A person who is enrolled in the 7th grade or higher of the ensuing football season shall not be allowed to compete in the STJFL, Inc. What exactly do you have a question about, and I will try to answer it.
12. Last year his defense was the best defense in the state across all classifications.  In all the years he has been at WOS his defense has never allowed more than a 19.6 points per game average in 5a, 4a or 3a.  If my mind serves me correctly his defenses have 77 or 78 shut outs.  Cornel is definitely the best in Southeast Texas and at least in the top 5 in the state of Texas.  His defense has been the #1 defense in the state across all classifications at least 5 or 6 times.
13. Well we played the Silsbee 9th grade team, and until we are told differently we are planning on playing the OF ninth grade in two weeks.  Unless Silsbee lost theirs they have one.
14. AllSportsMom, There is no report card check for grades, never has been.  We do check them at the certification to see what school they attend, but that is it. TD, I can say that for the eight years that I ran the scale at every certification and I guarantee you no kid every was allowed to certify if they did not make weight.  I would also be willing to bet that since you are not allowed to weigh and certify your own players that it has not happend in the two years that I was gone.  I have seen numerous kids turned away for 1 pound, also I have seen numerous kids strip to their skivies to make weight.  Do kids gain weight after certification, absolutely just part of it.  It would take too much time and manpower to have weigh-ins through out the season.
15. Big D, I truly sorry that you feel this was done to inconvenience your team, to make that statement shows how little you know about the STJFL and the people that run the league. Again I am truly sorry you feel this way. I hate to think that someone would think that the board of directors would do something like that to inconvenience any team. I can guarantee that it had nothing to do with your team, but I am sure you will think what you want and I can't change that. Good luck Saturday.
16. Thanks for the sensible post Penny. There is no excuse for the #1 seed to be playing at 8am. Anyone who says so is just not really being honest. Not one of the coaches associated with the WO-S Junior White Team would have requested or asked for that time slot. I go on a limb to say there is not a team in the junior division who wants to play at 8am. Junior White will be OK. Not the end of the world. Not going to change the outcome of the game in my opinion. It just doesn't seem to me(and i may be wrong) that everyone went in with the mindset of whats fair to a team that works hard , plays hard and fair, and has proven that they are the #1 seed. You right Stangs 92 we did not go to the meeting with the Junior WOS white team as our top priority. We never make decisions based on what is best for one team or association, we base it on what is best for the whole league. As far as coming to a meeting, feel free. Although I do ask one thing if all you want to do is whine, cry and complain and not bring any well thought out solutions to what you perceive as problems then please stay home. Other than that we have and always will listen to a good sensible discussion about anything that will help the league as a whole.
17. They are the first Wednesday of every month at 6pm the only thing that changes is the place and if you want you can call me and I will let you know where it is. As for the rest of the meetings they are usually on the calander, I just looked and they are not at this time we will have to get that updated. But you can always call me and I will be glad to give you the info.
18. Why do you need to know, so everyone can get on here and smear his name in the mud. It is really not anyones business why he got suspended. Just leave it at that.
19. What pisses me off is, most if not all of the people on he griping about when they play have never been to a meeting. Yet they get on here an pretend to know exactly what goes on at the meeting. The way that you are seeded has been determined since before the season began. The times are put out there not according to how you seeded, but according to where the games are played and how the league can get the most help at the fields to be able to run the play-offs with out problems. It takes a lot of coordinating of people to make all of this happen. Most of the people think you just show up and play, I only wish. So before you start accusing people of trying to screw you maybe you should have a little respect for the people that spend countless and thankless hours putting together a league so your child can have a place to play and make the play-offs. WOS was represented at the meeting and agreed to play at the times you are playing so get over it. No one forced WOS to take these times. It just worked better to allow people to move from field to field to be able to help out. Nathan Byerly
20. From the by-laws in 2008, SECTION 5. EXCEEDING WEIGHT: If a player exceeds weight in their division, they may move up to the next division with no position restrictions, until they meet the age requirement for that division. Therefore if he were in PeeWee he would move up to Junior. If you were told anything different you were told wrong. I am sorry that you were told wrong, but sometimes people think they know the rules and by laws and really they are just saying what they have been told. For eight years, i have been to almost every meeting of the STJFL give or take 1 or 2. I halped or wrote most of the by-laws, not saying I am always 100% right by usually pretty darn close.
