  1. Longview is dang near a 4a school and Allen is very high 5a(wil be 6A when they decide to go that route). Longview area has always produced good football teams...AKA ..Longview, Gilmer, Marshall, Tyler Lee, John Tyler, TATUM, and so on. I know this is not Longview, but they are all within about 40 miles of each other. Bottom line East Texas football is really good. However, I have lived in Dallas and know  the Allen program. I want Longview to win, but will take Allen by 10.

I stand by my posts.....and yes my wife is a teacher in the district and wanted to post. She is entitled to her opinion as am I. You disagree and hate what I post all you want....but she lives it every day. I will tell her to created her own screen name so their will not be any confusion in the future.

Actually, you are using your wife's BISD email as your board contact info so technically, it is her account.  You might want to change that.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who you are.  I did.  I'm just sayin..... ;)

Yet we know nothing of you as your profile is hidden.  Now that you know her, maybe you can visit her in her classroom and see it for yourself.
  3. Mr. BMTSoulja 1,

Yes I am the "Wifey" and I have yet to hear any constructive rebuttal from you. Obviously you got nothing from my post...So let me reiterate: I am tired of being the laughing stock outside of the Golden Triangle.  Goose Creek has nothing positive to say, Humble has nothing positive to say, Galena Park has nothing positive to say, Channelview has nothing positive to say, and sadly neither does Port Arthur about BISD!  And that is just our district, you can only imagine what the other districts say....Oh wait, they don't even know we exist.  Now that's progress!

When you have to get your team's district schedule from another coach in another district, IT IS EMBARRASSING!!!  And things like that happen all the time!  Yes I live it, yes I defend it, and yes I would like my administration and super to stop making bone-head decisions that I have to defend when I am outside of this area!!!

Now, the reason why I stay is because of my students.  They have been put in my life for a reason just as I am in theirs.  I didn't get into education so I could be stepped on every time I turn around. There have been alot of things to happen in this district of which many of the public have no idea.  Our district is broken (morally) and the people that can fix it have no idea. That is what you should have gotten out of my post.

    Sincerely,
    MRS. Tupac7

  4. You know there are a lot of opinions here.  But if you came into my classroom at West Brook, you would see the real problems.  Regardless of the TEA ratings of our schools, we all have the same issues of dealing with educating our youth and it is virtually impossible to do when all we can do is fight about naming stadiums and who is better at UIL competitions and who has a more difficult curriculum and what ethnicity makes up what school. Simply put, the wind was taken out of many teachers sails when Dr. Thomas named the stadium after himself...I myself am very discourage about the move.  (I do realize that the board voted this issue through, but any prudent man man would have declined the offer and did what was best for his district and its public relations.) And now I have to defend, yet again, my district when I go to Houston competitions of the idiotic moves our district and school board make.  I am sick and tired of being a laughing stock at competitions outside the Golden Triangle.

And before anyone attacks the ability of my students, my children are very competitive and usually win their competitions.  The insults, jokes, and sarcastic remarks are in reference to the administration and school board decisions.  I give all I can to my students, to my school, and to my district.  It would be nice if the district could do the same for the people(students, teachers, and staff) that make the district what it is.
  5. The facilities at all three high schools suck...as do all or most schools in BISD. You got more portable buildings in this school district than you do in most rv parks. The guy had enough nerve to put a pre-fab builing at Westbrook....which has had nothing but problems...not mention that we have freaking hurricannes all the time. This guy is an egotistical idiot.Yet the the school board gives him clearly outstanding evaluations and another year contract. If we wanted to get rid of him it would cost us well over a million dollars. Second if he is so loved, why don't he man up and go back to at large positions in BISD. He has done nothing for us nor will he ever, yet we name a freaking stadium after him. I appreciate the member that stood up and voted no...and detest the former West Brook teacher who used to nothing but gripe about he was at school, until she became a hob nobber on the school board.

Remember a chief is only as good as the indians around him. With that said im not commenting on Carrol Thomas but on the teachers of beaumont, and i think they are doing a great job with what they have. The citizens are to be commended for passing the bond to improve the schools and if you are mad about something do something productive to make a difference not just complain on a website.

I agree... trying to compare them to the Southlake Carroll's of the world is not even close to fair. Two vastly different demographics.
    [/quote]

Don't we want to have the best...Doesn't everyone strive to be the best. Compensation should be based on performance. The schools, facilities, and test scores are better at those places...plain and simple. Quit making excuses about how it is not fair to compare schools because of social demographics. That is just settling instead of trying to be the best. I for one want to see us on those levels. If he gets there pay him a million dollars..If he doesnt find someone that will.
  7. I have my opinions just like everyone else does. It is MY OPINION....based on where I have been and seen school districts for what they are I think he is over paid and not very good. You are right that was a shot I shouln't have taken. I have been to the Plano, North Dallas, Sugarland areas and based on facilities of schools, test scores, and yes athletic facilities...I think he is over paid and does a poor job. I also think A-Rod is over paid. With that said... if the people that be want to pay him that much than we should vote them out...and yes I have and will always vote to improve our community, and do what it is right. When he gets are schools on par with the Plano's, the Fort Bend's, and the Dallas Schools (South Lake Carroll) then I will be alright with him making that kind of money, because he is earning it. I hope does for our kids sake.

  9. They got beat by a better team that night...just like when nederland got beat by westbrook.....kirby pitched a great game and hats off to him... but the table can turn at anytime... not saying that Nederland is average.. because I ont't believe that... I think they are a heck of a team... especially the short stop who is a beast... but I'll take Vidor's coach any day of the week over Nederlands... Green is baseball and does more with... for lack of a better expression less than anyone else in the area....good luck to both....cant wait until vidor and nederland in vidor....... :D :D
