  1. Maybe more adjustments were made from HF’s coaching staff. Just because you lose one game doesn’t mean you can come back and be better the next. Also, how was HF’s coaching Silsbee and HJ?
  2. I heard these rumors as well but I was not at the game so I can’t confirm. The only thing I do know is the effort Coach Rideaux puts in behind the scenes. His coaching technique can be blunt at times but he treats his players like children of his own. I can almost guarantee that if any of the HF players needed anything, Coach Rideaux would be the first person they would call. He has helped several kids get into college whether it was at Central, Lumberton, or with an AAU team in the summer. He takes care of his players on and off the court. I’ve seen first hand how his players at HF gravitate towards him off the court. He is a role model to his players and a great one at that. It is okay to question his coaching methods but if anyone questions his character, he or she does not know Coach Rideaux very well.
  3. Even if “it doesn’t get any better”, HF basketball is 11-3 and from what it seems like up close, all of his players love him. It really doesn’t seem like it has to get much better.
  4. HF continues to win... oh the value of great coaching.
  5. This is a brand new program under their new head coach. HF basketball will shock a lot of people in the next few years.
  6. Tigee Rideaux has officially taken the HF head coaching job.
  7. Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t all head coaches start as an assistant somewhere? I personally don’t know anyone who had never coached prior to getting a head job. Also, Lumberton made the playoffs for the first time in how many years last year? In his first year there. Seems like a good hire to me.
  8. I don’t think HF would have to be on Silsbee’s level. If they can just get close to the playoffs, that would be a massive step in the right direction.
  9. EC went a little cold offensively down the stretch and OF hit a few threes. OF got the lead down to 6 or 7 points but it never felt like EC lost control of the game.
