Well I'm still hanging around here and will be until the end.  I'm just glad that Silsbee and Jasper are better in Baseball this year or you wouldn't have anything to post about...... ;D ;D

Now Now Now.......this is coming from a BC fan....what have have even made the playoffs in......I think Softball will be the ONLY thing!

Silsbee playoff teams:

Football

Volleyball

Boys Basketball

Girls Basketball

Baseball - soon

Softball - soon

and I'm sure other's these are just the main sports!

That seems like plenty to talk about......and you BC has done what........oh.....talk about the past......what ya'll have done........which is......yea that's right......lost 2 in a row!

Your thoughts? Looks like "the other" district can play a little baseball also, now everyone knows why it wasn't possible for Silsbee and Jasper to have the winning streak of a century. To much competition in the North!

How sad.  With 2 outs too.  He may never recover (in his head).

Not just 2 outs..........but a 1-2 pitch...........then again.........O" pitch was a 1-2 also, if I remember correctly!

The other thing, we all remember the blown saves, especially the one's blown with the bomb........but he's still one of the TOP closers in each of the last several years, in terms of number of saves.......he gets 40 or near 40 each year......yes his blown save, numbers have risen.....but I think he only blew like 5 last year.......let's hold off the execution, the season is still young!

Lidge still has just as good of stuff as he has ever had. He has lost his confidence. The pitch that Nady hit for the homerun was actually a good pitch at the bottom of the zone, he just jumped on it. Whether he is tipping his pitches again, I still think it's too early to tell. Nady is in the majors for a reason. He knew from what Lidge did to the first 2 batters in the inning that he had one chance and that was to start early and try to hit it in the boxes.

I totally understand Astro fans being disappointed but I am disappointed that they would boo our own player. Especially one that is lacking his confidence. There is no good that will come of it. Leave the booing your own players to the fans of that team in NY.

I was there as well, and I agree with you. Lidge still has it, it's all mental now, and yes, last night didn't help that.

The strange thing is, when he came out of the pen, there was a tremendous reseption......after "the pitch" he was being boooed just about every pitch.....Stros fans need to support him, he's who we have. We can either get on the ban wagon, and show we are behind him, and help him through it.........or we can help contribute to the problem!

Remember, the Pirates hit 3 HR's......off 3 different pitchers!

DIVA- Scott hit the ball VERY well last night.......and think, there was talk about trading him!

I hope last night was an indication of Burke's play thin year in CF......he made  some nice catches, he really covered some ground!

What happens if BC and Jasper split, then Jasper beats Silsbee, all three have split, giving each of the top teams 2 losses........how will that be settled?

Silsbee12........before you go and declare  the district champs........you might want to wait until the season is played out.  Silsbee played a good game.........got some good hits.  But so did BC.  The biggest difference is BC did not start thier ace pitcher and Silsbee did.  Remember the first game with both aces starting in your backyard did not come out your way.  I think Schooling pitched against Jasper in the first game, will he be on the mound in the second game and if so will Jasper batters be more successful?

All of the teams in this district has some players with great skills.  The teams that perform best AS a team usually wins the ballgame.

Red1, who said anything about District champs......I'm refering to BC saying we should be nice to other teams......my poiint was to bring out things that BC fans were saying before the game.......but now that they've lost......they don't want anyone talking smack to them......so my point is LEAD BY EXAMPLE, don't talk it before the game and you won't have to hear it after, if it doesn't work out the way you want it to!

Lets be nice.  We don't need to cut down each others teams.

Of course now that one of BC's all American diamond teams has been beaten, we have to be nice......read below just a few of the comments I found throughout this web-site.....if BC weren't egotistical people, maybe you wouldn't have to eat so much crow when you do get beat!

No  - they didnt say anyone could coach BC and win ! They said the rest of the teams in what is it 21-3A suck and are not worthy of playing BC !

For a school that has not lost a district game in this century, with a ball smaller than a basketball, excluding golf, you wonder if it's just getting boring over in BC land.

But the district is not loaded with talent.  Sorry its true.  When BC gets out of district that will be the test of how good the team is playing

They are also getting money for the softball fields and they are scheduled to be completed at the same time.  That way, the softball team is in place and ready to go so there are no problems with Title IX.  THey are not doing anything backwards.  There are some pretty intelligent people over there that aare doing this thing the best way they can.  Let's all get behind them and get college football back in this area.

I'll be buying season tickets and coming over from Houston for games on Saturdays.  I can watch my Red Raiders on tv, I'd rather see Lamar in a revamped CArdinal Stadium!

Then I appologize......good for Lamar! I also plan on watching some football games, and ALOT of Softball games!

The ball is definitely rolling toward Lamar University bringing back football. In its meetings last week, the Texas State University System approved expenditures for 2009 of $6.5 million for Cardinal Stadium renovation and $3.6 million for the renovation of the J.B. Higgins Fieldhouse. LU president Jimmy Simmons said restarting football is still contingent on the university raising enough in donations and pledges to cover additional costs that could be in the $10 million range. The TSUS funds can be used only in conjunction with Lamar playing football . .

I'm all for LU Football, but why spend money on renovations of a stadium and fieldhouse, before you get the sports that you MUST have for football to even be possible........that way the SB team can being playing while these upgrades are made......LU another A$$ backwards way of thinking!

If your point was to keep schools of similar size together for more even competition. Then a 6A classification might be more in order! This would even the numbers out a little more!

I agree with saving him if they want to make a good run in the playoffs.  I think they should beat OF without him but who knows??????

My point was more along the line of: If Silsbee is planning on making a run in the playoff, they would need McDonald (or someone else) to be able to win quality games, Schooling can't pitch every game in the playoffs. With this said, McDonald (or someone else) has to be able to beat OF, or they have bigger problems than BC in district, as far as the big picture goes!

Any thoughts on this one ???, I feel if they pitch him tonight they are saying they're happy with second place in district....IMO

I think if they pitch him tonight, they are crazy! Silsbee should be able to beat OF without his help, if they are considering themselves a contender in the playoffs, which I think they do!

But then again, Silsbee has a good coach, and he knows what's best for his team!

I wish we had the old 21-3A District back, its was my Freshmen & Sophomore year they had this District.

That's a pretty cushy district IMO! 4 of those are now 2A, 2 of those are fairly weak in most sports, 1 is OK, and 1 fairly good in most.......

No doubt this will be tough loss for BC, but by no means does this mean it is over. They will come out and battle. This ought to be a great game.
