One bad thing about writing stuff on these boards is that sometimes the "way" something is stated can change the entire connotation. For the most part, WO-S is not a trash-talking or non-"humble" team, but we can substantiate our history with facts...I didn't see where Coldspring was bad and the game would have been more competitive had the Mustangs not caused (4) fumbles...Coldsprings is to be congratulated because they had a pretty good team. #9 is a beast, #20 has uncanny speed. They should progress next year. As for WO-S thinking about Giddings...maybe now, but not on the field today. This team has pleasantly surprised many, but they are focused on today and the game at hand. NOW, we can turn our attention to Giddings. We'll be ready!!! CONGRATULATIONS MUSTANGS ON YET ANOTHER VICTORY!!! ;D

Let's not forget Dayton and PNG...and this is just football oh-so-unwise-setxfan1....

Dude (or dudette)...it would seem to me rather oxymoronic that your screen name is setxfan1 and yet you obviously don't know much about the talent that comes from SE Texas...added to the fact that you are like FOUR POSTS OLD. It is the Golden Triangle (but, somehow I believe that you know that). We KNOW that Giddings' QB is probably OK...I just hope he's not vying for another HS season due to "injury". We won't go into the "overrated" comment because here in SE Texas...we'll just see what happens on the field. Besides, we really can't be wasting our time with "worrying" about any other team except Coldspring. Thank your time and consideration...

Well, the Mustangs WILL be focused...and I seriously doubt that Fitzhenry is hurt. At least I hope not because if he is...we may be looking at him next year... : Is there a cap on injury waivers with the UIL? As long as the underestimating is done by the fans and not the players, which I don't think is the case. I think they are ready...

Congrats to Dayton, PNG, and Lumberton. Way to represent SE Texas Football!!!

Well, as a renter...I have as much or more pride in my household than many who own their homes. This won't get "spun" into anything but a generalized stereotype of those who choose or have no choice but to rent. Like I said, the Mustangs will not be defined by grass or turf, but thank goodness too...they aren't defined by many in this school district. You see, most of them are used to adversity...they don't give a crap what they play on as long as they get to play. I do, however, believe that you really don't deserve to complain if you don't vote. That being said, I also understand why many may not vote. The world would also be better off if people weren't so stereotypical and were more willing to help their fellow man (whether to vote, go to the store, school, etc.)

I heard the news today in class. Several of my classmates are from Buna. Hey, you guys had a great season and caught an unlucky break having to play Newton...KEEP YOUR HEADS UP!!! Congratulations on a great season!!!

DISCIPLINE is helpful. You can't allow a player to "take himself out of a game" for this reason or that reason. You have a backup...use him. Parents, etc. who will allow the HC do his job...he is THE COACH and gets paid to do HIS JOB. I have heard different people from BC say that many, many times...player's parents/grandparents run for the school board because of the influence that they can have. That's bogus...you need a commitment to being better from your players, parents, and community. Hit the weightroom and track...don't take the easy way out. Work out in pads every day that you practice (after two-a-days start). Realize and address problems.

Well, for whoever is receiving the kickoff....you better hope that he doesn't get to you and hit you because he is the first one there and whoa......I'll just say...OUCH!!!

While being careful is a great idea....we need to be FOCUSED and play MUSTANG FOOTBALL (primarily defense). If we can achieve a combination of those three things...we should come out with the "W"... :-X

Maybe that's where I am going wrong...I am buying the Orange Leader on Saturdays....perhaps...I need to buy the Beaumont "West Orange" Enterprise...now that's comedic... ;D

Natural talent...in the genes maybe? Anyway, I'm glad someone threw those names of whatever those are...will have to do some research on them. Whoever is taking that stuff (seriously, I don't think that the 'Stangs are) better make sure that they will meet the standards to pass the tests next year...everyone is going to have to be more careful in what they are putting into those bodies. As for the WO-S and talent thing...again...it's called offseason. You ask why so few people are on our roster...it's called offseason...either they can't take it physically or they can't take the discipline. The players who survive the offseason phases...they are transformed into Mustangs. There are no shortcuts at WO-S and our coaches run our football program.

How did D. Johnson do defensively? Isn't he being recruited?

One thing that Coldspring will have going their way IS losing the last two games...teams losing like that usually go into the next game HUNGRY and THIRSTY, so they will be a force to be reckoned with.
