But I agree U has way better facilities.... mlk used to be split are they not anymore?, (smith did feed central) “United fan base will be off the chart”.....could be a turn off especially to someone nearing retirement He has his program up and running and returning a good portion of team, very good jv and freshman teams, close proximity to house, daughter at WB, in my opinion he won’t take it, money will not swing nor influence due to equal pay(unless shady business) only thing that could influence him into taking it would be “the challenge” or the thought “I could possibly retire after a state championship” ....is that a desire considering the talent that will be feeding that school

I understand ur point, but this isn’t the ncaa nor the nba. Hc pay is gonna be the same pay across the board when you have more than one high school. The resume only helps you get the job, doesn’t dictate the $.....unless you choose a higher paying school district case in point (took ad job in p.a.) i know a few years back hc for basketball in bmtisd only got a 10k stipend for coaching and the top assistant got between 5k and 6k.

I ve heard something interesting . make a position that would be over all basketball operations in BISD. I guess an assistant AD type position. And that would only be for a certain already hc in the district. ......I still don’t see him doing that.......but if the $ is right

Doubtful......he didn't like the previous stint. His heart is in coaching. But u never know.....if the money is right possibly

Congrats to him. I always liked watching him play. Not to be negative but at 6’5” he s at the worst height when it comes to defense at the NBA level ....that’s a tough position to guard. There s no shame in overseas ....great money and benefits. Get it while you can before Father Time comes knocking.

in what way? Its not $. He's already making over 100K. Bmt don't pay that much(86k). His kids are a junior and a senior i believe at Vidor. I just don't see it. And if he can't bring in his own guys i definitely dont see it. Please tell me how they are "making it extremely hard" This is almost laughable

I can tell you this a few of the coaches from central and ozen have both told me that they were told that everyone will be retained...... but in what capacity hasn’t been determined.

If that be .....then they ve screwed this up in a major way.....no outside (highly qualified) guy will take this job if he can’t bring in his own people. So is it safe to say Nelson or Taylor.....since everyone will be retained....

If what I have read is true about not allowing a HC to bring in his own people then: This is a sad situation for the student athletes. And this just gives bmt isd another black eye. Its funny how adults (so called professional administrators) can't learn from history, especially recent history. Shame on you all who are involved in this process. The coaching world already knew how bmtisd operated, but now bmtisd has just shut the door on ever getting a highly qualified applicants.
