1. I'm with you on that one zeek! Hopefully Hall adds the calming leadership effect to the young guns and becomes the guy you go to win you need a shot. While I don't think he will make them a Championship Contender, I do think he will make them better.
 2.
they just scored again :-( turnovers killin central
It's not the 2 turnovers that is killing Central, it's the poor playcalling. FW is rushing the QB like crazy, and Central has yeat to call a screen to try and make them pay for it. They keep getting sacked and punting on 4th and 30 and giving FW the ball inside the 50. Cetral went away from what they do best way too early, running the ball. They had a couple of good pass plays because FW was respecting the run and then they totaly went away from the ground game. This will get really ugly if Central comes out trying to throw deep on every play in the second half.
 3. FW has 30 points and maybe 80 yards of offense. Can't keep giving any opponent a short field.
 4.
23-4A will represent baby!!  With  the Jags just getting in the same bracket with Friendswood that put the Jags  in"Check" and in a few hours FW will holla"Check-Mate" down go the Jaguars!", Game Over! Who's got NEXT?
23-4A huh!!!It appears that Crush is just another imposter fan!! Seems to be alot of that going on of late.
 5.
OU probably thinks it's too risky since he didn't play much this year. Not sure about Texas, Maybe he should get his feet wet with Lamar and once he proves himself again he could take a shot at a D1 school.
Never happen. If he has to go anything other than FBS it will be JUCO so he can go straight to FBS school without sitting out after a year. If you go FCS you have to sit out a year if you transfer from FCS to FBS, but not FBS to FCS. Stoops ain't going anywhere. Big difference from Utah (Urban Myer) to Florida and OU (Stoops) to ND. OU is a better job than ND and will pay to keep him.
 6.

Phatmack, you going to pick me up? With Central advancing tomorrow, I'll drive the following week.
You won't feel like even driving home after the beatdown by FW. I know lot of hope exist now that that LaMarque has declined but, the monster is still there. But hey! Keep hope alive. At least the Jags will win the halftime show. Just for the record when was the last time any team in your area won a state title. Wasn't it WOS in about 1987? If the Jags keep it close maybe they lose by less than six. You guys struggled with your mighty state ranked PNG, who was exposed as  an over-rated flop in the playoffs. Who did they petition to get them the phony state ranking????. BTW please tell Sister Soulja that when I say Galveston County, it means that I live in West Texas City which part of LaMarques school district. Oh yea that was a real sweet win over Ball which lost seven or eight starters who relocated last yr after Ike . In other words "big freaking deal" those boys are starting over , they only had 36 players on varsity.
Hope you come back after Central puts it on your Stanks! I never realized how obnoxious FW fans were. They talk alot of crap for a team that has been riding Lamarques coat tails for years and still hasn't won the big one!!!
 7.
Guess what?  This is funny!!!!  Because the Jags last two losses came without our leading back on the field... The first loss came by 6 points to a team that won a tough 5A district and  just beat the last year's defending 5A champ in the playoffs.
What? O'Neal and Daws were both played against PNG. And played well. They each scored and each carried the ball over 20 times.
 8. So for all you naysayers out there...Who is the Senior leader on this team? Who is the one guy that returned from last year on this young team and played well down the stretch last year? Who was the one guy that was consistent during conference play and could be the go to guy when the team is in a rutt? ASHTON HALL You guys forget he was not even on the road trip. The team was going to struggle with him, but without him if any of you thought they would be able to go on the road and win you are insane and looking through rose colored glasses. This team was built to grow. Ton's of youth with athleticism, but no real experience and or leadership. Ashton will make a difference, but I don't expect this team to win the SLC. Realistic goals pre-season were to make the SLC tournament and I still see that happenening. This team can go .500 in the SLC and gain valuable experience for next year and the next three years.
 9. Wow looks like a really down year for the SLC. I know SHSU put up a good fight against Kentucky, but outside of a "good showing" the SLC has done nothing "good".
 10. Outstanding comeback! Keep on rolling! You have PNG support.
 11. Well said NDN78. Thank you to the Senior Class of 2010. You made us all very proud to wear the PNG Purple this year. You were great roll models both on and off the field. Thank you to the great coaching staff. You worked tirelessly and believed in our boys from day one. Many of you are new to this area and you may not have understood what PNG Pride, Honor and Tradition was all about, but there is no doubt that you understand it now and you did everything in your ability to uphold those three values. Year two should be fantastic. Most of the O-Line returning, QB returning, most of the D-Line returning, many in the secondary returning. Will need to replace our WR corp, but with Jalali returning and the possible move of Desmond to WR and Nelson and LeCour coming up from JV as well as Bertrand at RB we should be very good next year.
 12. Great season...Loved the fight our guys showed against a great team. Brenham played a flawless first half. That O Line was HUGE!!! As I stated before the game we had to score when we get inside the 30 and once again we struggled with that. Brenham did a great job in the first half of converting on 3rd and long. Good Luck to the Cubs. I think they could be in the title game this year. They have a lot of weapons. We shutdown #81, but #9 had a good game and the QB made plays when he needed to. 2010 season can't get here soon enough! ;D
 13.

png mad cuz they lost now throwing punches
I just got back from the game. PNG did not throw any punches. After a long game of terrible calls, one of the PNG kids lost his cool when the Brenham kids were showboating and he ran his mouth twice and got two flags. No punches so lets not start that urban legend. As some folks projected, Brenham was better than folks thought and PNG was not quite as good as many people thought. But give PNG credit, they fought back. Lost two starting corners in one game, in the first half, and played a strong 2nd half. They did not quit. Great game and great season for PNG.
I saw punches clearly
::) ::) ::) No punches, just a kid that got tired of tthe Brenham showboating and said something he shouldn't have.. Brenhams coach could have shown some class and taken a knee with 1:20 left and only 1 PNG timeout left and the game would have been over, but he chose to try and score and it almost bit him in the you know what.
 14.
I thought it was a nice stadium. And I didnt think the parking was bad at all. And getting out after the game was good also. So I would have to think its other issues. Not an issue of how nice the stadium is.
took us 30 minutes to get out of the parking lot last Friday night!!! One way in and one way out puts a real damper on it.
 15. So if you are looking for a fresh start, why would a guy on the current staff (that you guys feel ain't gettin it done) be on your list?
 16. I don't care what Brenhams coach has told his local newspaper, You can't convince me that Faircloth would not have flipped in a heart beat if it were between Thorne and Stallworth. What does he have to lose? He is at Thorne anyway. This just tells me that the rumor that West changed his pick to that small pasture in his neck of the woods is legit! What a worm. I hope the hills are opened and it backfires on him bigtime with PNG fans taking over 3/4 of Thorne. I will say this as well. If they don't open the hills, it is General Admission and the PNG faithful will show up in large part before the Brenham folks will. They won't like it, but there will be a lot of purple on there side of the stadium! And they can thank there coach if it happens. Stallworth is one of the best venues in Texas for HS Football!
 17.
The bottom line is that although PNG is a good team, they are not a number 3 team in my opinion, at least not so far. Maybe they will get better next week. I want them to win state, but to me they are nowhere near good enough to legitimately be considered a serious threat for a state title. Unless there defense improves and their running game improves, the first time they run into a team that has top notch offensive and defensive lines with a good overall team performance they are going to get a rude awakening. They are not good enough to run over a legit contender from what I see.  Thats not my hope, that's a warning. My hope is that they win the whole thing!
Doesn't matter what team is playing, at any HS game if you sit in the wrong place, amongst the whinners, you will hear it...I was at the game and thought the officiating was good and heard very little if any whinning were we sat, but I have heard it at other games and from other teams!!! Now as far as the deffense goes...Yo have got to be kidding me aout the BH game. PNG gives up 213 yards of which 35 was on the play where Viverette fumbled on the option and our containment was lost as they went for the ball on the ground and Viverette was able to pickup the ball and make the pitch. Busted play. And another 35+ was on the last play of the first half when PNG played 40 yards off of the ball andconceeded the Viverette scramble to keep him out of the endzone. Thats 70 yards on a busted play and a meaningless scramble. So they got 143 yards give or take a few the rest of the game. I'd say that was dominant!!!
 18.
I'm betting if Todd Dodge loses to Army this weekend at home, he will be fired at the end of the season.
You'd lose that bet. Todd has one more year. Remember the bright spot for NT right now is a Freshman QB named Riley! He gets one more crack at it.
 19.
Look, PN-G has all of the tradition and will have 10,000 crazy fans there. But before you go out and make blanket statements about who has a superior coach, you may want to do a little research. Most of Brenham's coaching staff including the HC (Glen West) played for and learned under Gordon Wood in Brownwood. In fact, Glen West's father was the OC at Brownwood when the legendary Gordon Wood was the coach. West has been a winner everywhere he has gone. I'm not saying Faircloth is bad, he has done a fabulous job.  By the way, historians correct me if I'm wrong but I believe West is 149-57-1 as a HC overall.
Would that be the same Brownwood that Brandon Faircloth attended and graduated from before he went on to coach at three of the premiere Texas HS Football Programs of the more recent history in Austin Westlake, Highland Park and Odessa Permian?? Yes, I believe it WOOD be. ;) You are correct about the fact that West has been a winner, but a couple of years ago he had one of the great assemblies of talent in 4A football in recent years with headliners Jarrett Lee and Collins at WR along with a huge O-Line and D-line and monster LBs. Major DI talent at just about every position, and how did that season end?? A great coach would have won it all with that talent. Now I won't say our PNG NDNS wil"beat them like a drum", but I like our chances against this group of Cubs.
 20.
I'm sure no one would agree with me and I hope that I'm wrong but... PNG has not played the same quality of competiton that Brenham has and as a matter of fact we have only played against 3 teams with winning records. Brenham defense is very fast and that has given us problems because we lack overall team speed on both sides of the ball.  That being said if we can throw the ball effectively then the game could be close but will be low scoring.. My pick -- Brenham 21 -- PNG 14.
Good Point about PNG only playing three teams with winning records, but Brehnam only played four teams with winning records and lost one of them (no doubt to a very good 5A) and lost to a team with a loosing record. Overall PNG's opponents combined for a 0.500 winning percentage. Brehnams on the other hand are 0.466. Not sure any of this really matters come Friday night. I think the team with the least amount of mistakes wins. If PNG can run on the Cubs like some of the other top teams they have faced have PNG will keep hold the time of possession game and come out on top.
 21.
PNG wont let anyone play at their stadium. You would think they would want to show it off and make some extra money.
That's only this year while the High School construction is going on around the stadium. Next year there will be more parking and less congestion and the stadium will be available as a playoff venue.
 22.
I'll give them their dues those were the same Cornerbacks that Galena park riped up CONGRATS YOUR OFFENSE SCORED LIKE GALENA PARKS (MINUS A COUPLE TDS)
??MY OFFENSE?? My teams offense ripped your Coogs for 30 first half points! And Nederlands offense almost ripped your Coogs for 30 second half points! Believe what you want! I know what I saw...the same Coogs on defense and offense in the 4th that were there in the 1st. The game is on the PA News. Go check it for yourself.
 23. And remind me again FW fan, how all that adds up to how many Football State Titles the Mustangs have played for?? This is a football thread! Stay focused.
 24. Bingo Knightrider. Look we now root for eachother to meet up again, because if it happens we will have proven to Region III that SETX is where it is at on Friday Nights and two of us will be final 4!
 25. I saw the game...Crosby never took out anyone. Nederland just fought back. Give credit were credit is due. Crosby snuck out of Woodforest very lucky that they didn't get embaressed by a fourth quarter rally. Crosby was the better team no doubt, but someone needs to remind them that in the GT we play 48 minute football games! Congrats to all winners this weekend now keep plowwing forward so that we get two more 19 4A vs 20 4A games! Until then nothing was settled in the playoffs! Regular Season belongs to 20 4A and the post season was a draw. No one can argue with the truth.
