It’s gotta be very tough to be a coach at PNG. And I’m sure Faircloth has to have some very thick skin. As a coach your always going to have people not agree with everything you do. People need to think about what kind of coach are we gonna get when Faircloth leaves. People wanted Burnett gone because our offense was boring and non existent. Now we have a badass offensive coach and people want him gone because of the defense. He knows how to develope QB’s for sure and can match an offense to that QB’s strengths. Back when Faircloth first got here I always said if we can get a QB that can run and throw this offense would be scary. Well thats what you have now and thats what you will have the next 2 years. Most of the teams winning state or making deep runs have a QB that can run and throw. Our offense is having to play different players on the line and we keep scoring. Our line has been struggling and Faircloth just finds ways to move the ball. He has a great offensive mind. Hopefully we can keep him around for a while longer. It’s a tough job being a coach and I’m sure anywhere he goes there will be crap to put up with. I’m sure eventually he will land another job that will pay him more money.

You hit it on the head. The way Faircloth continues to find ways to move the ball an come out on top proves that he's doing his job well as a coach. Sure, people are going to say "running your qb 30 times a game isn't good coaching" but it would be ludicrous if he didn't utilize Shug in every possible way that he has available to him.

Huntsville defense shut PNG out. Only team that has just flat shut the ndns down in the three years with RJ at helm. They were in the backfield all night long. Very impressive

If they had a little more on the offensive side, they’d play at Jerry World in 2018.

PNG. will struggle with dual threat qb like FB Marshall.

Huntsville was the game that RJ went out in. I know it was a tough game for them even before that but I think it's a different type game if that doesn't happen. It would be a pretty dang good rematch if they meet up in the playoffs.

Uhh....nahhhh. Not enough defense. High powered offenses and no defense turn to barn burners. This Nederland D reminds me of the 2012 team, yes the offense was better but not that much better just a little in the receiving game, our run game is better than it was in 2012. I think Ned has as equal of a chance to the third round as PNG does, they keep having to many close games (PNG) that won’t last on these better teams.

I agree that the defense is bad but I think that the offense can score enough to hang with most teams. The bulldogs are the complete opposite. They have a run run and run again offense because they can't do anything else, and once someone loads the box and takes away the flats on them it's over. Unless the defense can put up major points in the playoffs I don't see Nederland going past the 2nd round, certainly not the 3rd.

    Johnson

    Rushing 40-227, 2 TDs

    PASSING — PNG: Johnson 15-25-0, 198. 3 TDs

He beat yall. Yall QB lack of skill made it easier to do. See compromise

Man I'm glad you pulled that up. He did more than beat y'all, he down right took you to the woodshed and ........ ......... ........ as a SOPHMORE!!

  5. Yah the only team that has a chance is PNG and that's only if they drastically improve on defense. I've said it before and I know it's crazy but maybe they should have a couple of players rotating in an out playing both sides of the ball. I know Nederland does that somewhat with some of their Defensive backs. They should do it more because a couple of them are more productive at the wreceiver position than the starting receivers.

look at film from the Houston teams that best us every year, they run & gun you all game long ....he has the team this year on both sides of the ball , don't wast a great season .

Exactly my point. Why not raise your expectations this year by rolling out an offense that can bring you farther than a couple of rounds in the playoffs.

I was at the game and you are right Manvel lost their head coach who is the qb coach at Syracuse now and 18 starters. But if they played Crosby 10 times Crosby would win that 1 game. Manvel turned the ball over I believe 4 times and had a ton of costly penalties and still had over 600 yds offense. Crosby had 0 turnovers and I believe only 3 penalties. Nobody from this district will even play Manvel or Marshall close unless they play an absolutely perfect game and Manvel or Marshall just fall apart.

Didn't realize the game went like that. Just saw the end score. But if this was the case then it sounds to me like Manvel may not be the Manvel from last year but they are still star contenders. Great programs have depth and the next man up isn't always a downgrade.

lol,i don't know any of these guys writing on here,i could careless who plays qb,i wanna win,,blaysin can play anywhere, bryce cant, blaysin is a leader, bryce aint, blaysin is vocal and a motivator, bryce aint,he is shy, blaysin has big game experience, bryce doesn't,blaysin is aggressive and Bryce isn't,,Bryce throws a prettier ball, and a better arm,i don't hide anything,i tell them that to their face,i don't sugar coat anything,im not the dad that's gonna lie and say you played good when you sucked, ask em,i don't mind hurting feelings.Bottom line we can all sit in the stands and speculate why on Friday nights, but the coaches have a reason why they do things, they see them everyday at practice,if nederland was a pocket passing team then Bryce is better choice, but when has that been nederlands game plan,i can assure you seay and others weren't pocket passers, just not their thing..so bottom line I could careless what my boys do on Friday nights as long as we win and they have fun doing it,making memories with friends,in the big picture they only have a few games left in em and football will be over forever for them...so with that being said nobody really cares what anybody says, obviously your not playing or coaching in the NFL,so let the players enjoy their high school days with friends!!!

You forgot a couple things. Better accuracy, better vision, better decision making, tall enough to see over the line, can throw on the move and in the pocket, and I have to disagree with not having "big game" experience. He led the team to the win in Barbers Hill as well as WOS.  As far as all the other stuff you named  I wouldn't know unless I knew the kids. I'm just stating my opinion based on what I've seen on the field and listened to on the radio.

Also, how am I not letting the players enjoy their high school days with friends by posting on a forum about southeast Texas football?

There's some tough teams in Region 3.

#1 and #2 seed might win first round. #3 and #4 seed has an uphill fight first round with FB Marshall and Manvel. PNG possibly gets Willowridge first round. That's no pushover game. Nederland probably gets Houston Sterling first round. It's very possible this district goes 1-3 first round. I'd say 3 rounds is a stretch.

I agree it's a stretch for any of the teams other than PNG. But the 3rd round is definitely the max for all of the teams in the area that will be in the playoffs.
