The above May be an opinion but a guaranteed fact is that Shugart is better than anyone WOS has faced.
Both Anderson's are quality pitchers, not much difference between the two. WOS is fortunate to have them both. BC has seen their share of quality arms this year from Foshee(Vidor), the PNG staff, Lumberton's White and Campbell, Griffin (Silsbee), big lefty from Cameron Yoe, just to name a few. That stacks up more than favorably when comparing schedules.

WOS has taken advantage of the opportunities they have been given and that, along with a little luck, is what has to happen to win. Shae Landry has done a great job putting WOS baseball back on the map.

Pitchers Duel? Didn't WOS just pitch their Ace yesterday? Not sure which Anderson is their ace.... But, I'll take BC in this one :)

Interesting observations. I believe BC has found a nice compliment to Shugart in the lefty Macfarland, he has thrown really well since coming back from an injury. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball in relief against HF and threw 4 innings with no earned against HJ. BC must have enough arms to be "competitive", check their record and strength of schedule.

As far as PNG goes I agree on the strength of their pitching staff, no dispute. As far as saying it's not even close between them and the next team goes that may be a stretch until they consistently hit enough to not depend on pitching a shutout. I do believe they are most definitely in the discussion as the best team in the triangle.

Buna wasnt there long.

Not sure if that is a knock on Buna, or merely an observation. However, WO-S might find themselves in the same boat if they don't take care of business Tuesday.

It's still not as strong as the 2010 class was.

With a weekend to rest Buna pulls out a close one 4-3

How about Kyle Herring of HF? Kid matched up with Anderson of WOS for 7 shutout innings then throws a gem against a solid and ranked team in Buna.

Shugart of BC was Shugart last night in Silsbee but Brayden Griffin threw a heck of a game for the Tigers.

Pitching in 21-3A is superb.

Congrats to BC coach Chad Landry as he picked up career win #200 tonite with the 2-1 victory over Silsbee! Great milestone with many more to come.

Confirms what we in Southeast Texas know about 21-3A baseball.  One tough district with a lot of talent.

Look for a 4th 21-3a club next week if WOS can handle OF Friday .

It was a very good early season test for both.  Other than BC, Buna hasn't really been tested this preseason from anybody on the mound.  I realize Silsbee was the favorite, they definitely earned their ranking.  It was a great game to watch, both made their mistakes, both capitalized on the other's mistakes, and both made some terrific plays.  Very similar to last year's battle @ Buna between same two teams, this time Buna came up on top.  This time, Buna was the better team.  Games like these only make both teams stronger and helps one or both get ready for post-season.  My hope is Buna will be in that mix this year.  Good job boys!!
