  1. Congrats to PNG!  Ya'll outplayed us tonight.  And in fact crushed us for 3 quarters.  But Vidor is not done!  Take away the Turnovers and it could have gone the other way.  I am not making excuses for tonight, but I am just pointing out that we can still win some more games this season.  I think 20-4A could win a lot of playoff games this year!
  2. I will give credit to the PNG team tonight.  They outplayed our Pirate team.  But the above posts really help explain all the PNG hate in Southeast Texas. But laugh it up.....Ya'll get the win tonight!
  3. Thanks for the replies.  I thought it was pretty standard, but I really didn't know for sure.
  4. I have an office in Lake Charles.  Some of my friends there in Louisiana have enjoyed asking about the VHS football season since they know that I follow the team. On Friday night, they were passed by our buses on the way to the game in BMT (they happened to be passing through to Houston).  And they were shocked to see the police escort.  This brings me to the question.  How many teams in Southeast Texas travel with some sort of Police Escort on Friday nights?  I have always seen the police escort on Friday nights (since I was a kid) and just assumed that every team traveled this way.  I would guess that most Rural Schools in Texas travel with escorts on Friday night. I have no deep issue here to address.  I am just curious as to how widespread the practice is in Southeast Texas.
  5. Thank You Jaguar Nation for all the class that was shown to our team and community tonight (and all week).  You may be having a down year, but you will not be down for long!
  6. It would never work.  They have to play the games on Thursday.  And with 3 schools, u would often have 2 teams that need to play there every week.  The best you could hope for is to play 1 or 2 games a year there.  And that could cause significant confusion for everyone hoping to attend the games.  JMHO
  7. Wow!  I was going to post that I was not sure on the data, but considering how badly the formatting turns out, I am pretty sure that now one will even read it.  Sorry

  9. This game should figure big in the Final Playoff formula.  I have not seen PNG this year, but I have seen Ozen against several opponents.  To listen to he NDN fans that are posting here, they are underestimating Ozen.  PNG may be the better team, but Ozen is really good.
  10. Thanks....I guess I should have given the Enterprise more credit.  I would have never guessed there.
  11. I see now that it is just 1 player from each team in each category.  I really thought I was being helpful. But I also agree with the other posters that Ind Leaders should be listed regardless of what team they are from.
  12. I think you left Clark from Vidor off the Rushing List.  He has as many yards as Quirante.  You should double check it. Bollinger after not playing the last 2 4/5 weeks has probably fallen off the Leader List.
  13. What is the best source for High School Stats.  Specifically, I am looking for 20-4A.  I know that there have to be some good places, but I cannot seem to find any sites that are up to date. TIA
  14. Congrats to Both Teams.  The game could have easily gone either way.  And Green has an unbelievable arm at QB.  Special Hat Tip to Quirante from Vidor.  The win was a full team effort, but #23 was really good tonight.  Good Luck to Both Teams next week!
  15. Kudos to Lumberton for never giving up. Vidor looked sloppy and rough tonight.  But I am so glad to get the win!
  16. Both teams suffered close losses last week.  I do not know about Lumberton's loss, but Vidor's loss was heartbreaking.  It was one of the more painful losses that I have been a part of as a fan.  Vidor was far from perfect, but they played a good game against a very good Bulldog Team.  The team suffered multiple critical injuries during the game, and despite all of that, the Pirates had the courage to fight back and regain the lead late in the 4th.  The 2 plays that Ned made on the last drive were sensational despite solid defense by the Pirates.  My point is that either team could come out flat after the emotional letdown.  If so, then the game could slip away as both teams will likely be effective and grinding out the clock and making the game one of limited possessions.  But based on the games that have been played up to this point, you have to give the edge to the Pirates.  I believe that the Pirates will be ready and win this game by 10.  But anything can happen in this district on any given night.  There are no freebies.
  17. Congrats to Nederland on the Win.  It sucked to drive home after that loss.  Vidor also suffered some possible key injuries for the future.  Bollinger's injury is not an ankle, but a foot.  X-rays will be needed to confirm, but you hate to see such a great player possibly end his HS career on an injury.  The boys from Vidor showed a ton of heart to comeback in the 2nd half.  And I thought they played great Defense on the last drive.  Nederland just made 2 really good plays.  To the Vidor Players:  Keep your heads up.  There is still a long season ahead.  There will be chances for redemption!
  18. This thread would already be at 30 pages if not for all the deleted posts...... ;)
  19. How did the Bmt Enterprise break the story on Quirante being in Arizona.  I think that story would have been best left untold.  ;)
  20. Hats off to the boys from Kirbyville.  They really brought a lot of energy and heart.  Vidor came out on top on the scoreboard, but Kirbyville is getting it together.  I predict they will be ready for District.  Go Kats!
  21. No one is perfect.  And there are lots of great Coaches and ADs in Southeast Texas. But I am one Pirate Fan who is glad that we have had Jeff so long and hope we keep him another decade or two. But there is something else that you did not mention.  It is how he recognizes and interacts with obscure young kids (ones that he meets doing Little League Outreach or Summer Camps at the School) at Wal-Mart or at BB games.  He truly loves the kids and the kids know it.
  22. I do not think it will be Vidor.  Even if everything is clicking, I think that the Vidor coaches will shut it down early.  Vidor has been on the other end plenty of times.  Over the past decade, Vidor has been unwilling to "run up" the score, even when it looked like they could have.  JMHO.  But I do think that this Vidor Offense has the Potential to score 50+ when it is all clicking.  I just hope that our Def never puts in a situation this year where we need to (and I do not think that they will).
