1. Congrats on the win to all the boys and the coaches.  And see if you can keep that coach of yours under control next time.  ;)
2. Glad to hear it and glad that all your players made it out of the Gulf in time to play.
3. I heard a rumor that STJFL Jr weight limit is moving to 135.  My 10 year old at least has a chance of making 135--he had no chance of making 125 for sure. I think it is a good move for the kids and the league.  I hope it works out.
4. That sounds like a crazy experience.  Glad that you and the boys still made it a positive.  And congrats on an Awesome Season.
5. Good Luck...I really hope yall win it!
6.
Thanks. I think my point got lost in my post somewhere. I've tried to make sense of it but it only sounds more confusing. In the end it really isn't important. Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm lucky enough to get to go to the deer lease with at least one of my boys and maybe both after we give Thanks at lunch.
Have a Great Trip. Happy Thanksgiving to All!
7.

after finding out about the weight difference and age. this game should not have been played. JMO
It was very obvious that they either had or picked up kids that weighed more than 85 pounds. They were very unorganized and my guess is that is from picking up kids that weren't use to playing with them. No way the win the super bowl being that unorganized. I think they had 6, 12 men on the field calls. You can say what you want. The kids they had were every bit as big as our kids. Not one person as just come on and said good job Mustangs. But that is what I expected. Thanks to our coaches. Great job preparing our kids. Not just for this game but all season. It was total domination just as it has been each and every week these kids have hit the field this year. Congrats to the Mustangs.
If I get on here and say good job WOS, then I piss off an entire league (LoneStar) and you know how political I am. But seriously, from someone who got a taste of your team up close.  You guys were simply awesome.  Players, Coaches, Everyone.  You know how good you are, but I am sure it is still nice to hear others agree with you. I hope that ya'll bring it and knock the crap out of those Big City teams.  Go Stangs!!!  Good Luck.
8. I hope I am wrong but I think Silsbee should be bringing the SR team.  It would probably be a better match-up.  JMHO.
9. I do not think that Silsbee realizes what they are getting into here.  Maybe if they can pull in enough kids from other teams.  WOS is not just good--they are much better than that.  Just look at the loopsided victory over a very good LUM-White team.  The game was never really close.  I would be worried about the boys from Silsbee (and I am not trying to talk trash) getting hurt.  You cannot ask anyone to tell the WOS boys to let up.  For the sake of the kids from Silsbee, I truly hope that I am wrong about this.  This game could get really ugly, really fast.
10. I ditto the Thanks to the boys and coaches for a great season of football.  Turnovers killed us last night.  There is no need to point fingers of blame.  Just time to start working on next season.
11. Congrats Central....My son and came to cheer on the Jaguars.  We got there a little late and they said no more seats and sent us to the extra seating in the End Zone.  So we slipped over to the Visitors side where there was lots of room.  Central looked quite flat IMO.  I was surprised to see so many drops and fumbles (most of which were recovered).  But the most surprising thing was how "dead" the Goose Creek fans were tonight.  I think the most animated they got was during the Jaguar Band Performance.  Not nearly the playoff atmosphere that I was expecting.  The Central crowd sounded much more into the game, but like I said, I got booted to the other side. Congrats again to Central.  I hope you keep winning for weeks.
12. I have not seen Dayton play in person or on film this year.  I have seen all the Vidor games (except PNG).  I am inherently biased towards the Pirates. I would really be surprised if Dayton's offense is not succesful on Saturday.  I do not see anybody (including Vidor homers) predicting a shutout by the Pirates.  In fact, the best defense that Vidor has against Dayton is their offense.  If the offense can move the ball the way it has in most of the games this year, then Dayton will be given a limited number of possesions to work with.  If Vidor can break up some passes, get some sacks, or big penalities, then Dayton's offense may fail to find a solid rythm.   On Saturday, I really thought that the game would be high scoring and hopefully with the Pirates coming out on top. Now, I read 12 pages of Dayton homers posting about how strong their Defense is.  How good they are against the run.  How they do not have the lineman to go with any more than a 3-man front.  How fast and smart their LBs are.  How no team has been able to run the football on them all year.   All of this I want to chalk up as trash talk (remember, I am a fan) but I realize that it is probably mostly true.   Vidor's stregth is no secret.  You can check for yourself.  Vidor has run the ball with great sucess against almost every opponent.  If Dayton's strength is stopping the run, then this really is going to be a battle of Strength's.   Dayton is the favorite based on district seed, experience, and record.  But I do think this is a match-up that Vidor can win (and I really hope that they do).  I do think that I now know what to look for on Saturday night early.  If Vidor can run the ball early, then I think the advantage swings back to Vidor.
13. Vidor has its weakenesses (as does every team).  I have not seen Dayton play (I am sure that they are very good to run through 19-4A with only one loss).  But Vidor has some strengths.  I cannot be objective (as few of us can) as I will be pulling for Vidor as much as anyone come Saturday.  But I sure hope that the Dayton players come as overconfident as the Dayton Message Boarders.  That could make for a long ride home back to Dayton.
14.
Thanks for stepping up big time daddy23. I know running the clock wasn't the ideal way for you to enjoy the game, but you sure helped us out in a huge way.  We really appreciate all you do for the program.
;)
15.
I heard yall were good lion fan... I thought it was going to get loud up there in the press box for a minute.. 23 there were other broadcasters up there and you never tell us how good we do... ;D    Good luck to you guys next year ..glad you had a good experience in Vidor
I am sure you were awesom as usual--I just could not hear you through the two walls.  ;)
16. Lionfan, Thank you.  And not only did your boys never give up, but your team was a complete class act.  From the coaches on the sidelines, to the Announcers in the Press Box, all the way to when I heard the last Lion Player who left the field yelling back at the Vidor mob: "Good Luck Pirates.  I will be rooting for you next Friday night.  Make us Proud." And I will tell you again that you and your partner did a great job.  Not just nice and classy but very good at what you do.
17. Congrats PNG on District Championship!!!!! Congrats to Central on a Great Game and an Solid Season. Good Luck to All the 20-4A playoff teams.
18. I think there were more than a couple hundred kids that lined the walkway out of the Locker Room.  Hats of to Coach Matthews for coming up with such a great idea.  Hats off to everyone who put politics aside and stood together.  I wish everyone of you could have been there to see the excitement in the eyes of the Young Men who lined the sidewalks to cheer the Varsity Team on as the left the locker room.  Tonight, a lot of Young Men made a memory that may well last a lifetime.  I know I made one that will last forever.
19. And if Livingston wins, I give them my hearty Congrats and sincerely wish them a long playoff run (as I do all 20-4A teams).  However, my heart is with the Pirates.
20. Tonight is a huge game for both Vidor and Livingston players and coaches.  For Vidor, a win means the first playoff birth in almost a decade and only the second (I think) in my lifetime.  (I realize that half the teams now make the playoffs but I do not think that reality undermines my point).  Before the Opening Kickoff, Before the Coin Toss, Before the band plays the National Anthem, outside the Pirate Locker Room, a couple hundred young men gather.  These young boys, ranging in age from 5 to 14, will come because some Little League (or Jr High) coach told them that the Vidor Pirates need their help.  They need some extra support from these little Pirates.  Maybe all of those little Pirates gathered outside the locker room will give the Varsity Boys the extra fire that they need to come out strong, play hard all night, and obtain the victory.  Maybe those little faces and voices will be just what the Varsity Pirates need. But I know at least 3 (and I guess many more) of these young men are really counting on the Pirates tonight.  While these boys are still young, each of them know how long it has been since Vidor went to the Playoffs.  Each of them have heard parents, teachers, and friends comment that "These are the games that Vidor loses."  Each of them have been exposed to the tradition of losing that some Pirate Fans have embraced.  If the Pirates fall short this evening, then life will go on for everyone involved.  (I am not trying to make more out of this than it is--it is just a game.)  Coaches will keep coachings.  Players will continue to be students.  And Fans will return next season to cheer on the Team again.  However, if we win tonight, then it will be a Spark of Hope (hopefully just one of many) that these Young Pirates outside the Locker Room will always remember.  They will remember the night that the Pirates won the big game--the night when Vidor's team came up big.  And no matter how many games they may lose through the years;  And no matter how many times their team may be outmatched, tonights victory can be one that gives hope and inspires a whole generation of Young Pirates.  For that reason, I am hoping (and may even utter a little prayer--although I am sure that God doesnt give a damn) that the Pirates come up Big Tonight.  And although I hate to wish for another team's (full of equally deserving young men) season to end, I am headed to the stadium with more hope for a victory than I can ever remember--Hope for the Sake of those Young Men outside the Locker Room
21.
Daddy23 whats wrong with  my hair? your not that much taller..only like by a foot maybe a foot and a half... TD can i hold the water bottles,or the towels? anything? Daddy23 holds a water bottle but doesn't give any to the kids..he pours it on his head and drinks all of it...he's not a good water boy. :D
The water is for the kids?  While I had never thought of that, it really does make a lot of sense.  ;) And I am going to keep checking up the line to see if me and PirateFan can get the Chain job!
22. Cmon wos98, I have longer hair than piratefan....and I am taller.
23. Please don't let Pirate Fan hold the Down marker....I want to hold the down marker.  Let him have one of the first down chains.  Please let me know where I apply for the down marker job tommorow.
24. Congrats to Nederland on the win.   It was a battle in terrible conditions.  Both teams stuggled but both teams had amazing individual efforts.  Dionte was very impressive.  #7 for Ned made some amazing catches.  The 90ish yard run by the Vidor Back had to be one of the Top Ten runs of the season in the district. The game was not decided by the officials.  I know how good the Nederland fans must feel after this win.  It hurts for us Pirate fans.  We still control our destiny...I hope we take care of business next week.
