  1. Dislocated elbow... do not know how long he will be out or if he will be out at all... he left the game and had to be taken to hospital so they could knock him out and put it back in place.... I was at the hospital and the pain was just incredible. However, the early (night of) reports left the door open for a much quicker than anyone expected return. However, until the swelling goes down, the MRI will not be able to tell anything for sure.
  2. We will miss the rides due to Ozen visiting Pirate Stadium..... As to the go easy comments.....No Comment....They need no bulletin board material from me.
  3. Daddy23 change that to 5 first downs so far. ;D Done....
  4. Warning: Boring Analysis Ahead. Nederland Gold. They are 4-2. If they lose out, they will be 4-4 overall but 3-2 in the division. This may be good enough to qualify for one of the two Divisional Spots (by virtue of Tie-Breakers) but 4-4 will not be good enough to even get in the Wild Card Tie-Breaker mix. If they win out, then they will take the #1 spot out of Division 3. If they split, they will take the #2 playoff spot at worst (maybe still the #1). Little Cypress. They are 2-4. Winning out will likely get them in the playoffs with a 4-1 Conf Record, but 4-4 will not be in the Wild Card mix. Orangefield and Kountze. They are 2-4 and but unlike Little Cypress, they already have 2 Conf losses each. They will need to win out and then hope that things fall their way in other match-ups to even have a shot at the Divisional Playoff spots. Vidor Black. 3-3 overall, but 1-2 in Conf. If Vidor Black wins out, then they will be 5-3, but only 3-2 in Conf. They could lose the Conf tie-breaker to one of the 4-4 teams becuase of Head to Head. However, 5-3 will likely be the record that gets the 2 Wild Card spots. But it could still come down to Head-to-Head or Points Allowed. Does any of this make sense? And feel free to disagree as always.
  5. I would love to do more division, but the Jr Division is the only one that I have any idea about. And I have been doing plenty of guessing even there. I wish someone was doing Power Rankings for all the other division and more Power Rankings for Jr.'s.
  6. [move]Jr Dvision Playoff Picture[/move] I believe that PNG-grey, BMT-gold, BMT-blue, NED-black, and PNG-purple are no longer in Playoff Contention. Lumberton White and WOS-White have clinched a Playoff spot. Even if they lose out (and Lumberton already technically has 7 wins), they would be a Wild Card at the very worst. The Division 3 race is crazy. I think that Nederland Gold, Little Cypress, Vidor Black, Orangefield, and Kountze are actually all mathematically alive for the Divisional Playoff spots. Only Vidor Black remains alive in the Wild Card Race. The rest of the teams are still in the mix. The Wild Card race will be the most interesting in the end. I predict that a team will need a minimum of 5 wins to claim a Wild Card birth. And while, there may be only two 5-3 teams, there could easily be four. Which means that it is likely that there will be at least one 5-3 team not make the playoffs. It is also very possible that one of the two playoff teams from Division 3 will be 4-4. While this week’s games will certainly help focus the scenarios, the Playoff Race will certainly go down to the last week
  7. [pre]1 WOS--White 6-0 Only given up 5 first downs all year 2 Lumberton--White 6-0 If tTop two teams do not meet in the SuperBowl, it will be a Huge Upset! 3 WOS--Blue 5-1 Still has to play Bridge City and Ned-White…This one could change. 4 PNG--White 4-2 Only been scored on by WOS-white and LUM-white! 5 Vidor White 5-1 Will be Underdogs in All Remaining Games. Yikes. 6 Bridge City 4-2 The only team to score on WOS-white. 7 Nederland White 5-1 Need to recover from close game on Sat…Gets harder next week. 8 Nederland Gold 4-2 Dominant Team in Division 3 9 Lumberton Red 2-4 Don't let their record fool you. 10 PNG--Purple 2-4 Only team left to beat any one of the Top 9 [/pre] The Power Rankings got a big shake up this week in the middle and end. I hate to leave Vidor Black out considering how hard their 14 boys played on Saturday. I could not tell if there were more players or more coaches on the sideline. And the Nederland Kickoff that Nederland scored a TouchDown on may have never before happened in STJFL history Nederland Black is also hard to leave out. They are big, diverse, and very young. Watch out for them next year. But there remaining schedule is still very difficult. PNG Purple gets the nod due to their win over Vidor White (as painful as it is to remember) and their upcoming victory in Week 7. I am still having fun and I sure hope all of the players and coaches are still having fun as well. Good Luck to Everyone for the rest of the season and may all the injuries be over for the year.
  8. OF upset over LCM is exactly the kind of thing that makes me wait on these things...What about the Kountze game?
  9. I went help my buddy RB( the Head Coach for B.C) beat Ned. Jr. White today. :-X Plus i wanted to see what all the buzz about Ned. Jr. White was about. We had an off week to get ready for u guys. ;D Like you needed it... It was good meeting you. Always fun to put a face with the avatar. I would never (seriously) wish injuries on anyone, but don't let the Flu Bug hit your team this week. I hear it is going around. ;D
  10. Yes...but I saw you today at the Dawg Pound.... :-*
  11. Really? Really? What I have done on this board to deserve so little credibility? Nothin! Just surprised! We played BC already. Play Big Ned White next week. Just surprised, that's all. How far does Big Ned White drop in the power rankings? Raider44 this is the Top 5 Power Rankings 1. Lumberton Jr. White ??? 2. Wos Jr. White ;D 3. Wos Jr. Blue :-X 4. Png Jr. White 5. Vidor Jr. White This was already my Top 3 (in that order). Raider...they may fall to the #7 range. Bridge City has to move ahead of them after the loss. Still waiting on the last three games to finalize the rankings. 2 of the games scores may really affect the rankings...I watched 3 games today and got to see 3 teams that I had not yet seen this year (film or live). It was fun. There are some good (evenly matched) team in the league this year. But then there is WOS-White and LUM-White. If those two teams do not match up in the Super Bowl, it will be a Huge Upset....JMHO
  12. We still need to PNG White v LUM Red game.....and the PNG Grey v Kountze game....and the Orangfield v Little Cypress game... Anyone????
  13. Really? Really? What I have done on this board to deserve so little credibility?
  14. Quarter Switch unless coaches agree otherwise....We usually do not switch at quarters in our Jr Games.
  15. I have nothing but respect for Jeff. And I hope he is still there when my boys come through the program. And he is not just that way in front of the cameras either.
  16. Bridge City Jr 13 Nederland Jr White 8
  17. Vidor Jr White 12 Nederland Jr Black 6 A very close good game. Both teams hit hard. And I thought both players and coaches from both teams conducted themselves with class. And Special Thanks to Nederland for turning the AC on at the field. It was great football weather.
  18. Just left the hospital about an hour ago. He is very sedated and still in terrible pain. Terrible to watch and yet he just wanted to ask me if we really won (guess maybe he thought his parents were not telling the truth). I dont know if he will remember any of this in the morning. They had just finished the x-rays when I left. He elbow is messed up. Hopefully just dislocated and the Ortho can get it reset when he gets there without surgery and there is no major ligament (etc) damage. However, it is way too early to tell. He is a big part of the team. And just a really good kid as well. Thanks for asking.
  19. I was at the game and totally cheering for the Pirates....Both teams played sloppy in the form of too many penalties...but what a physical war....I never thought Lumberton would be able to stop the run...and they really did. Some great coaching/scheming and great execution. I felt like we were fortunate to get out of the game with a Win. We needed the win badly. Bottom Line: Congrats to Vidor on the Win, but Lumberton really impressed me. They will be hard to beat for anyone. I believe in the L-train.
  20. BallerMom, I struggle with these rankings every week. And you make a really valid point regarding schedules. I am just making my best guess every week. Some of the teams at the top have also played very different schedules as well. I would not predict that the Top 8 in the Power Rankings this week will not be the 8 teams that make the playoffs. Also, I have only seen about half the teams play (in person or on film) so I am just guessing about much of the rankings. I just appreciate the crticism and I would love to know how you would rank 'em.
  21. Lots of fun guys....and thanks for the wishes for a non-injury game next weekend. However, our focus right now is on only one thing--Nederland Black. They are big, seem to have a very diverse offense and we expect them to give us everything that we can handle if not more. They shut-out a very good Litttle Cypress team in Week 1. We are worried. After whatever happens this weekend, we can then focus on Week 7. I am just so glad that The Power Rankings have generated so much fun discusion.
  22. TD, if you can only score 1 point this week, I think you are right. That would have to drop you in the Power Rankings the following week. daddy23, I'm not sure who we play the week after this week but how many points would we have to score that week to get our Power Ranking back up? ;D Three....I dare you to try to beat the next team 3-0. I dont think you can do it.
  23. TD, if you can only score 1 point this week, I think you are right. That would have to drop you in the Power Rankings the following week.
  24. Are the Nederland Jr fields 80 yards or 100 yards? I thought that I remembered that they played on a 100 yard field last year and the PeeWee played on an 80 yard field off to the side? But then I heard someone else say they thought that the Ned Jr field was an 80 yard field a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone know for sure? TIA
  25. Week 5 Power Rankings for STJFL Jr Division (JMHO, of course) 1 WOS--White 5-0 2 Lumberton--White 5-0 3 Nederland White 5-0 4 WOS--Blue 4-1 5 PNG--White 3-2 6 Vidor White 4-1 7 Bridge City 3-2 8 Vidor--Black 3-2 9 Nederland Gold 3-2 10 Little Cypress 2-3 And special note to PirateFan to see his team move all the way up to #8. Games to watch this week: Vidor Black vs Nederland Gold. A match-up of the only 2 teams in Division 3 with a winning record. But with Little Cypress undefeated in District play, the loser of this game could end up being one of the best teams left out of the playoffs. Bridge City vs Nederland White. Nederland White only needs to win one more game to clinch a playoff spot. However, their remaining schedule is very tough. Bridge City needs this win to continue the fight for 2nd place in the Division. Commentary and Corrections welcomed!
