  1. Congrats on the Hat...I have mine on a trophy shelf...Chances for those just don't come around often.
  2. I have a copy of the brackets....Unofficial of course....I will try to attach them below...this has both the Shetland and Pinto Tournaments. Unfortunately, the website will not let me upload the excel file...you can e-mail me if you would like a copy and I will send you [email protected] Orange is bringing 9 teams.... Lazeek...which teams are which from Twin County?
  3. Vidor will only have 7.....What about Orange?
  4. Wow, sounds like there is some real pressure on the Vidor All-Star coach (whoever that turns out to be). Seriously, congrats to all the teams that are still in--quite an accomplishment for Vidor.
  5. Wow...way to go Vidor...So are 6 of the 8 teams left from Vidor?
  6. Saturday's game brought HR#3 for one of our boys (CO). We have three others that are flirting with the fence and I would guess at least one of them would get one. The big question is how many more with CO get in our last 5 games. Part of me is wondering whether he will hit another one in every game that he plays. He still does strike out a lot, but if he hits it, I think it is 50-50 to go out. I know that another boy from Vidor hit two out against us (but I understand that those are his only two of the season). I don't know of any others. How deep is the fence in Vidor vs the fence in Twin County vs the fence in Orange. I know the fence in Port Arthur is the deepest.
  7. I don't want to out anyone, but Vidor will have a few good teams and one Very Good team in the Tournament...you will know them when you see them. However, I would look to see some strong teams from everywhere else as well. There were lots of good 5 year-olds last year in both tournaments.
  8. If you were watching then you would know we were not sandbagging (speaking of the Cubs). However, we did look much better last night. Let me renew my earlier prediction on the other thread. Vidor Angels will be very dangerous. And the Vidor Astros, Cardinals, White Sox and Twins (if they enter) will not be pushovers.
  9. Mustang All-Star was there 3 or 4 years ago...I watched my nephew pitch in that one...Shetland is in Vidor this year and Pinto will be in Vidor next year.
  10. This thread was terrible...but it brought back some good memories for me.
  11. We had a Cub get his (and our) first HR of the year. Some other kids are getting close, but only one for us this year. I really dont know about the rest of the league. It was fun went it went over--a three run shot to tie the game.
  12. I hope the Vidor Cubs are in the mix but there are three other Vidor teams other than the Cubs that are just as dangerous. It should be lots of fun.
  13. Thanks Lazeek, I can hope for the same. And Good Luck Goat...I would love for this to be your year.
  14. The truth is that the Vidor Angels will be very dangerous in the Director's Tournament. They may not win it, but it will take a good team playing their very best to beat them. But I really don't like the trash talking much...I would rather undersell
  15. And while I am glad that he broke out of the slump...why did it have to happen against us. Lazeek, we have some work to do to be ready for you in the Director's tourney. It will be fun to see how all the Vidor teams do in the tourney. We have lots of team that could beat each other on different nights. And I cannot tell you how many times I have replayed Luke's last hit up the middle. Your pitcher got just the perfect amount of glove on it.
  16. Lazeek, We are off to a good start. In our first two games, we have only given up 5 runs over 12 innings. We are starting to hit better as well. We have plenty to work on but so far so good. However, there are 4 really good teams that we have not played yet--it will be a couple of weeks before we really know where we sit for sure. GOAT, We don't play tommorow in Vidor but there will be 4 teams in action. On Thursday, there will be 4 solid teams in action as well (including ours). We are off this weekend for Easter, but come check it out anytime.
  17. That is not what I meant. I am sure that you will be fine and very competitive come All-Stars. Look at how good your Shetland All-Stars were last year (espiecaially at the top of the lineup). I would say it is hardest for 4 and 5 yr olds to outplay 6 yr olds in Shetland. It gets easier for 7 yr olds to outshine 8 yr olds in Pinto. However, Mustang would seem to be where the baseball talent rises to the top regardless of Age and pure athleticism. However, just my opinion. Orange should also be strong in Pinto this year. Their All-Star team was very young last year. I really don't know enough about the Groves and Pt Arthur leagues. However, Vidor has plenty of returners from last year and has plenty of talent to pick over to add to the team as well. It should be a great competition again this year. Keep winning Lazeek....we don't get to start until Thursday.
  18. Glad ya'll are having fun...It will be fun to see everyone again for the Director's Tournament at least. I don't know how much I will be around for All-Stars. Lots of season left, but it is hard for a 7 yr old to make a Big Impact in Pinto...we will see.
  19. Yes...we are the only 2 from last year that are together this year in Pinto. But we (espiecially him) are still involved in the Shetland team as well. We all practice together which is fun but a little bit overwhelming. It works out nicely as Clint has a boy on each team. Congrats on your strong start but how do you end up with 6 All-Stars on one league team? How many league teams do you have? We have 8 this year in Vidor.
  20. daddy 23 has the team to beat! Every year he can take any group of kids and lead them to first place. He likes to not say much ,and then on game day he can bring the hammer down on you!!..lol...don't let him fool you he IS the team to beat!!!! ;D Sorry I missed this last week, but it made me laugh....and then we quickly changed the combination to security gate at the Hitting Camp... Lazeek, we made the championship game on Fun Day but it was not nearly as close as we would have liked it to be. They have an awesome team. And we did not have to play two of the best teams in the league (as they were in the other pool) and one of the teams that we beat was a 9-8 thriller that literally came down to the last play (the game was tied after every inning prior to the 5th). We are good..I am pleased with how our infield played, but we still need to work on our hitting from top to bottom. There is still time to get better before we see you in the Tournament at Port Arthur (and I never said it was a dump).
  21. Congrats.... I am assistanting this year but with the same basic group of coaches plus a couple. Our Fun Day is Saturday. We only had 3 returners from last year. I think I would be best not to opine on how we look until we start playing games...Still hoping for the best at this point.
  22. lurking here and there but I don't want to get caught in the crossfire around here. Good Luck with your team.
