  1. I wasn't invited. I'm not much into fishing, but I could imitate Jody's attempt at brilliance toward football and claim to know all the best fishing spots in the southeast Texas.

    Here's a comparison:

Jody would say, "WO-S will lose three games this year, including one to Bridge City."

And I would say, "Smith Lake in Vidor is full of bass that are 25 lbs and three feet long."

Jody would say, "Barbers Hill has a better defense than WO-S hands down" (he did say this on another post, BTW).

And I would say, "I caught some of the biggest and prettiest snapper I've ever seen at the Rose Lawn gulley."

  2. Jody wrote: "If you knew so much about football there Griff, you would know your proclaimed "Good" Bay City team was destroyed by everyone after WOS beat them. Give me a break :!: They finished with a wopping 5-6 record in one of the weakest 4-A districts in Texas."

Bay City would have beat BH, but since BH never schedules any tough opponents in the preseason like WO-S always has, they're protected from being exposed. It's laughable that your whole "analysis" on WO-S is based on two Bay City games. Bay City was not as good as previous years, but they were a good team and too much for BH to handle.

Finally an admission of the truth. That's progress. You're getting in touch with your inner-emptiness.

Jody wrote: "...but I know WOS is over rated EVERY year. WOS has been in 3-A football for 2 year and have done nothing to show they deserve a top spot in any ranking. First year they were beat by an average Huffman team and were dominated last year by Wimberly. I suggest you all get out of Orange every now and then to see some real football.

Jody, no one from WO-S denies that we stunk it up against Huffman in our first 3A playoff game. We were embarassed by that. We probably didn't deserve a high ranking that year, but WO-S doesn't conduct the rankings. It's fair to say we were overrated THAT year, but for you to say we're overrated EVERY year once again shows your ignorance. Do you not know that we made it the state semi-finals last year? We lost to an impressive Wimberley team..the eventual state champion. I guess in your mind we should win the state title every year...and if we don't, we're overrated. I appreciate your enthusiasm for WO-S, but we know it's not possible to win the trophy every time. When you can learn to beat a  scary  Kirbyville team, then you'll learn how fun the playoff ride can be.

Jody wrote: "If you could read you would know my hobbie is not football. My hobbie is fishing and pissing you off. Based on my fishing results and your typical pointless post, I seem to be pretty dang good at both." :D

Naw...you don't piss me off. When I read your posts, I usually react with a chuckle or a "Poor, Jody" comment...with the same sort of pity I have when watching Special Olympics. Furthermore, I haven't responded to your nonsense in quite a while. However, every now and then, I think it could be educational for you to be reminded of how foolish you sound.

Jody wrote: "If you don't like my post don't read them."

Well, they are hard to read with all of the poor grammar and incorrect spellings you use.

Jody wrote: "Otherwise sit back and enjoy my in-depth knowledge of WOS football. :D After all, I seem to be the only one who already knows they will loose 2-3 games this year, including the Bridge City game."

Once again...here you go claiming to know it all about WO-S. You watch two Bay City games and you've got it all figued out. The fish must not be biting right now.

Jody wrote: "By the way, in 2006 when WOS get's beat, don't point too Bridge City as a team that "would have blown out BH". Since you know so much about football, you must know BH has already dominated them in the recent playoffs. Not that that matters any."

Now you're also claiming to know how good Bridge City is, after claiming you're not a "football goo-roo". Do I detect a chemical imbalance here? Here's some helpful information. BC will not be as good as last year's team. WO-S has never lost to BC and it won't start this year.

Here's an action plan for you Jody...

    1) Go to the Barbers Hill school board and make a formal complaint that their schools did not teach you to spell and write the English language properly. Or, you could move to Orange and enroll in grammar classes at one of the WO-S elementary schools.

    2) Find some young kids who live in your neighborhood and see if they will teach you to play Madden football on an X-Box or Playstation. Now, be forwarned...your thumbs might get a little sore. But this can be a good starting point for you to learn the beloved game of football.

    3) As you advance, ask the same kids to teach you how to throw a football. I recommend using a Nerf, because the official leather kind is hard and it might hurt you.

    4) At this point, you'll be ready to audition for the sequel to the movie "Radio". Cuba Gooding passed up the part this time, so it's yours for the taking.

  3. Bay City was down compared to previous years, there's no doubting that, but they were good enough to make the playoffs both years and they were a good team. You don't want to acknowledge that...you'd rather use this as a way to talk down WO-S. MORE IMPORTANTLY, my original main point was that you think you know so much about WOS, but your comments continue to solidify that you're clueless.

Somehow your knowledge of football and telling fishing stories about "the big one that got away" are getting crossed. Everyone knows you're a casual observer of HS football. Last year, you said that the 2005 Barbers Hill team was "one of the best teams you've seen in a long time." Yeah...getting scared by Splendora and spanked by Kirbyville really made a believer out of me, too.

  4. I've read too many posts from Jody over the last year and a half to count. A couple of things have become very obvious to me.

#1 - Jody, you really DON'T know squat about WO-S football. I'm not talking about WO-S's past years of success here...got it? But with you watching two games against good Bay City teams (teams that would've blown out BH) that does not make you an expert on what WO-S can do.

#2 - Jody, you really don't know much about the game of football to start with. Why don't you find another hobby.

  5. In a preseason game between the Houston Oilers and Washington Redskins, Eugene Seale (played HS ball at Jasper) plastered a guy who was returning a punt. It was probably the hardest hit I ever saw. He connected helmet to helmet, and shoulder to sternum in one solid blow. The player was out for several minutes.

Eugene Seale had many memorable hits in his college and (short) NFL career.

  6. 1983... WO-S vs PNG

We had just taken the lead at the end of the third quarter. PNG gets the ball and has one of those long consuming drives down the field (I'm playing DE for WO-S). Anyway' date=' they get down to our 5 w/ about 4 minutes left in the game. They have a 4th and 3 situation. Coach T sends our defensive play in and tells me specifically to watch for the reverse; I can still hear him... "stay at home". Well, they run the toss to the weak side (they had been doing it the whole drive and we couldn't stop it). So... thinking I recognized it prior to the play because I was watching the tailbacks eyes, I get a good jump off the snap and think I have the play stopped. I'll be damned if the tailback doesn't pitch the ball to the receiver coming around the back side and me thinking SON OF A B***H, MOTHER F****R, IT 'S A DA*N REVERSE...

I never ran so hard in my life trying to catch that kid, but it was all for not... he scored and we lost.[/quote']

Gasilla, you can't blame this all on yourself, man. I remember that game well. To me, what stands out more than that play was the one where Rodney Geter caught a pass in the open field and was tackled at the one yard line. He had a clear shot to the goal line, and that PNG defender still caught him from behind. Geter was literally one step too slow. First and goal from the one...and we couldn't score. THAT was the ball game. I remember hearing Coach T Monday morning saying, "If you get down to the one yard line and don't score, you don't deserve to win." I'm not trying to ride Rodney over this (actually, I never knew him), but that was the play that stood out in the eyes of Coach T.

  7. I just don't see Wimberley being the third best team in the state...too high of a ranking considering all they lost from last year's team.

As for last year's team, they could've beaten most 4A teams and a share of 5A teams. They had an outstanding offensive line and their defense was one of the most disciplined squads I've seen in a long time.

I know it's a long shot, but I hope we can meet up with them again.

  8. You cannot accomplish an "equal opportunity to win" by dictating "equal results". What a bunch of yankee crybabies. Football is about COMPETITION. Let the kids play and accept the consequences of the outcome! If they lose by 50, so be it. Many of life's lessons are learned in struggle and defeat. By adopting this stupid rule, they are teaching student athletes the wrong message.

This Connecticut crap is one more reason why I would never live in the northeast.

  9. Jealousy? Naw, I'm only stating the obvious about the district and having a little fun at BH's expense. You know...the same kind of "fun" that you laugh at when your buddy Jody posts his nonsense. Anyway...what the heck is there to be jealous about concerning BH? Please...lighten up, man.

Truthfully, I think C.E. King and Barber's Hill will take the top two spots. Third place is hard to call among these teams.
