Very nice win for Barbers Hill. Even if Jasper is having a down year, if you go into the "Boneyard" and win by 19 points, you've got something to be proud of. 19 points is equivalent to a three TD win, so it looks like you hit the target, Eagletown.

The only losing season we had was in 1983. We were 3-7.

If someone says, "What nice weather we're having today", you'll find some way to comment on WO-S. You make more remarks about WO-S than you do about any other school, even your BH Eagles.

Thanks, Huper. You are correct. At this rate, I'll make that kind of mistake once every 100+ posts. For others, their brilliance is on display every time they say something by constantly butchering the English language and making ridiculous predictions. Yes, I remember you accepting the dish of crow, but your other post sounded like a change of heart. It doesn't matter now.

Contrary to what you want to believe, I don't think WO-S in "invisable" (invincible). We have been beat, we can be beat, and like any other team, eventually we will be beat. There's no denying that by me. It's possible BH would have beaten us two years ago, the year we lost to Huffman. Last year, Wimberley was no doubt a better team than we were. There were two years when LCM was even better than us. You see...my WO-S buddies and I know how and when to accept defeat. We're not sore losers, and we respect our opponents. We even had respect for BH going into that scrimmage. I have plenty of common "since", as well, because I believe the following...

Would we strum you now..."probaly" so.

Would we beat you..."probaly" absolutely.

Could you upset us..."probaly" borders on insane.

Would I believe you would win..."probaly" no way in Hades.

I'm sure BH is improved with the position changes you referred to, but I still say there's no way you'll beat Jasper by three TDs. If those changes were made in the scrimmage against us it wouldn't have changed the outcome...no "probaly" about it.

All things said, I still believe BH wins this one.

I am going to go with the Hill.

I think were are playing a lot better now than we did against WOS.

For one thing we now have 3 key players back in the secondary where they belong.

The D line is getting better every week.

WOS moved the ball better on Dayton than they did on us and now we have a better secondary so the D is playing well.

On the offensive side we are also getting better.

Although I would not say we are any where close to where we need to be.

We are definately getting better and will improve each week.

I think we will not have a real problem with Jasper.

If their D is strugling our O should be able to put up some points.

Their O is struggling and I hear Jasper is a running team and our D is playing good against the run.

I am going to take the Hill 28 to 7.

Whoa, Nelly. I wouldn't go that far. I give BH a shot at winning a close game, but three TDs? Ain't gonna happen. BH has a chance moreso because Jasper is down and BH has a little momentum, but BH can't be leaps and bounds better than they were in the first scrimmage. It's obvious you're implying that you can't accept the BH scrimmage loss to WO-S and that the new and improved BH could win against WO-S now. Then, you just had to throw in the "Wouldn't it be something" bit. Do you really want to go down this road again? No matter how much your team has improved, if BH played WO-S in a regular season game your team would get spanked. It's too bad that you prefer to live in an alternative reality.

Alcohol should never be sold at a high school game. However, Nederland, PNG, LaMarque, and Brenham surely knew that Reliant would sell beer. So, if this was to be prevented, the schools could have played the games in another stadium. This was the call of the schools involved. It's a risk schools should not take, IMO.

True, 92, I saw the same BH team you did. BH is coming off a win that should boost their confidence. Jasper is always dangerous, you and I know that. Based on the account I heard about the Jasper vs. Nederland scrimmage, and losing bad to a not so good Livingston team, Jasper is reeling. I hate to see this because I expect Jasper to be good every year and it helps keep the rivalry going with WO-S. I want them to compete for the district title because it adds something to our game against them. Still, all things considered, I think BH will squeak out a win.

Dayton has nothing to hide about. They have a heck of a team and they will make the playoffs.

This was to be a rebuilding year for Jasper, and so far their scrimmages and first game prove that. I expect a low scoring game with BH edging out a win.

So far, Dayton is one of the three best teams in their district. They'll make the playoffs. I knew they were good, but they convinced me after watching them last night.

Congrats to Nederland on a hard fought effort. Your team earned a lot of respect from people outside the Golden Triangle tonight, something that has been lacking (unfortunately) from Houston insiders for some time.

And once again, herein lies the difference between WO-S fans and SOME Barbers Hill fans. Jody's sorry existence is simply to hope that WO-S loses...a team that has no past rivalry or district affiliation with his beloved Eagles. Just pure jealous rage. WO-S fans, on the other hand, don't have a rooting interest for Barbers Hill to lose. We have no reason to wish a bad season on them. Furthermore, Barbers Hill is a team that really doesn't even cross our minds unless the topic is brought up by someone else. I hope BH has a good season. Maybe someday, Jody's enthusiam for his own alma mater will equal his hate for a team he knows nothing about.
