Newton had three players hurt last week. Two are D1 players. One of those players was out last week also. Not making excuses, WO-S may have a few players out also, but I hope not. The Newton people have a lot of respect for WO-S and I believe WO-S has the same for Newton. Win or lose, Newton and W0-S will still be respected programs.

Sounds like someone's sister should worry more about teaching and less about stirring the pot! If I was said sister I'd be worried about my sibling running their mouth about things like children do and potentially shining a bad light on my career. Potentially causing it to come to an end if the wrong person  or right person depending on perspective doing some digging and letting the cat out of the bag. I agree town has been run rampant with politics of the good ol boy system and it looks like those days are coming to an end with current administration and coaching staff. 

Go back and read the comments^^ again hoss. A Newton fan picked us too. Yall may very well take the win. Who knows? But if you're thinking that you've got us based off of our loss to Newton, then I can assure you you're in for a long night. Newton would take Lumberton to the cleaners just as easily. 

Kirbyville just played (and lost to) probably one of the best teams Newton has ever assembled....and that's saying a lot. Lumberton just played (and lost to) an avg Jasper team. Anybody in Lumberton thinking this will be an easy game just because Newton throttled us is in for a rude awakening. I pick Kirbyville by one score.

I think Kirbyville will look like a whole new team playing Lumberton.  This should be a good game and I'm giving Kirbyville the edge.

I wouldn't wish for any school in the state to go through what Kirbyville has had to go through in the last yr +, both on and off the field. But I can tell you this, if they had....then there would be a lot less disrespect being thrown at us. Like someone said earlier^^, I think a lot of folks are sore from what Kirbyville has done to them on the football field in the past and they're taking this chance to kick us while we're down. I've noticed one very glaring thing though so far....we're getting no disrespect from anyone in Newton. They are going to dismantle us this Friday, but the Newton backers are being very very classy in how they handle it. Thank you. I'll be there cheering my team on no matter what cause....unlike some other teams....we weren't afraid to play the #1 team in the state/nation.

Many calls trying recruit another Harvey. I do respect Kats for taking on Newton this year. New coach has a challenge.  Looking at their schedule they not scared to go to battle.

They did step up and play them unlike your Buna Cougars who said no thank you. Coach may need to schedule some salty dogs instead of all the deaf, dumb and blind.  

I think Coach Johnston and Coach Thompson are discussing plenty with each of their boys today and I can pretty much guarantee that one topic W.T. isn't discussing is the Mustangs and one topic that Cornel isn't discussing is the Eagles.

I just hope we are better than the 2018 WOS lol

If they ban the horns then ban the bands. No talking during the game only hand signals. Always someone making waves.

Newton didn't pick this schedule to try and have an unbeaten season, this schedule will test them and give me a good indication of what kind a team they are. Win all three or lose all three it doesn't matter, hoisting that trophy at the end of the year does.

Please tell us how you really feel . I bet you are a closet Mustang,Titan Or Eagle backer and that is o.k. with me.  I wonder if there are any teams in SETX that you haven't bashed. Just wondering!

I'm picking Nederland over WO-S.

Wow, WO-S is two divisions higher then Newton, twice as many kids in high school. I assure you, Newton has all the respect for W0-S and Gilmer. Newton playing WO-S is like WO-S playing Aledo and Manvel this year. Let' compare apples to apples. Newton obviously does not have the dept. that the larger schools have. But, don't sell Newton short this year. I think Newton will give a good account of themselves. 

I see them beating WOS and losing to Gilmer. The only other team that beats Newton on a way to a state championship is Newton beating their self. 

Actually I spoke with the folks at FSW, it's all about #4 state ranked Silsbee.
