1. AAW soyunds like we agree on the difference between these two. Would like to know the rebounding by halves if anyone knows it.
2.

Basketball is so unpredictable you cant narrow it down to 3 things.   And I dont even know what your calling the pot calling the kettle black is, I have no allegience to either team.  Just like to hear the scores. I just want for (some, not all) to congratulate Silsbee on the win and dont come back later claiming it was this or that.  Great game to both teams.  Dont let the adults ruin it for the kids.
Who are you to ask for "some people" to congratulate Silsbee????  Were you are the game???  NO, so make no comment about it and ask for people to congratulate Silsbee!!! If that is the way it should be then some of the Silsbee people should eat a little crow for saying that HJ could not hang with the Tigers.  HJ proved that they are just as good and talented as the Tigers.  With a break here and there all of the Tigers would be eating crow and they would be the ones making excuses!!!!  But the Tigers executed and got the W, but I can assure you the coaches, players and fans of Silsbee were on edge and worried about losing to the Hawks up until about half way thru the 4th!!!  And yet not one person has given HJ credit for keeping the Tigers off of their game for 3 quarters, their excuse is that the Tigers were rusty..........HJ has only played one more game than the Tigers since going back to school and only one more game than the Tigers since the Christmas break, so no rust!!!!  Just being beat for 3 quarters!!!!
I am not saying the Tigers were rusty.  Sure I was concerned about it  before the game.  Heck I am not going to try and guess wether each pass was a result of pressure or not being sharp. I don't think we played that poorly during any part of the game.  I think Sean having to sit down for a large part of the last quarter was huge. Not getting to be as aggressive on defense played a part as well but that also played a part into getting those 4 fouls.  That could flip in the next game and we could be in that position,  hopefully that will be when our depth shines the most.
3. One thing you have to realize about this rivalty, that is typical of most rivalries.  Unless one team has a very down year,  you can never count out either team.  I was one that thought last years Tigers had a definite advantage over the Hawks.  Last years team had a big height advantage and skill to go with it. It  had size that most  3A teams would die for. Yet the Hawks still got a win over the Tigers. This years team has depth that most teams would  love and  speed most would envy as well. Do I think the Hawks don't have a chance of beating the Tigers? Heck no.  I didn't feel like that before last night and for three quarters they proved they could win.  However winning games like this one against a quality team with less depth than you is very often done this way.  The game stays in doubt until late when the team with less depth starts to get tired.  I was told by a Dallas Madison fan last year that even though my Tigers made a heck of a comeback run late, the difference at the end was our stars were wore out while theirs were fresher. As far as all these what ifs,  yes foul trouble limited some Hawks late, but you are still guessing as to how different it would been.  I could say if the Tigers had played more than one game in the last two weeks we would have been sharper in the first three quarters,  not letting the Hawks pressure get to us quite so much.  However,  I would still be guessing as well.  I am a Tiger fan through and through and I want the Tigers to go undefeated the rest of the way.  These players deserve it.  However,  after watching  these two teams go at it for the last several years and getting familiar with the Hawks players and some fans ,  as bad as I want the Tigers to beat them,  I still hate to see any of these kids lose.  There isn't one of them that don't step out there and give everything they have and then some.  I wish I could have been a part of a rivalry of this quality.  It is an honor to be able to watch it each year.
4. No doubt it would affect DC's game as it did those.
5. That does make a difference. I thought Seans was early in the 4th. I was so into the game I don't even remember Gus fouling out. Don't know how I missed that.
6. Which Hawks went into the fourth with 4 fouls. I don't remember 3. I thought Sean got his 4th early in the 4th which was big don't remember the others.
7. I never said we would have won by more just said he would have mada a difference. Don't you feel that even though his assistants could do well if Sutherland missed the game it would have an effect?
8. As good as all these coaches are I don't see how you can say not having Travis didn't have an effect. Yes it wouldn't have changed the way we played but it would have given a thirdbset of eyes on the bench, and more ideas strategy wise.          Would it have made much difference in the outcome is guess work but he definitely would have made a difference. He wasn't given the job for no reason!
9. Like the scrubs were chanting: MVP  MVP    MVP!!
10.
DC had 17 in the 2nd half and they had no other player in double figures..........DC needed to score in the 2nd half for the Tigers to win........and he did!!!!!! Bottom line is both are very good and DC is the best this year and Prudhomme will likely be the best player in the area next season since he is only a junior and it is only his 2nd season on varsity.  Where as DC has been a starter for 4 years at Silsbee!!!
You got that right.  When DC needed to score he did.  He contributed elsewhere as well.  Causing several turnovers and getting several loose balls in our run.  Sean will benefit a lot from having Persohn around both this year and next.  Sean will be able to stay outside more,  where DC has had to move back down low.  It will help him get better for college.  DC can play outside but the more you get to do it the better you get.
I freakin love basketball......Now clay has even turned me into a celtics fan.....a big celtics fan.....and no rob not literally....lol
I can't get into the pros much anymore and don't get to watch as much college as I would like to but I LOVE to watch these kids play High School ball.  They put their heart and soul into it for nothing more than a love for the game.  No money involved, just pure emotion.
12.
Sorry I was just poking a little fun, because we have heard for three weeks how prudhomme couldn't hang with DC.....I never heard anyone from HJ say anything negative about DC, we all know he is awesome, but prudhomme holds his own. At least now you know..... :o
I think I said Prudhomme wasn't too far behind DC,  but DC doesn't have to score as many when he has 11 players scoring HJ had to have more from its star because the didn't have that many contributing.  DC made a lot of plays that won't show up in rebounds or points.
13.
and little ole 3a has beat a many AAAA teams.....I was not aware that mid county madness referenced number of people attending....Heck u could combine HJ and Silsbee and I'm not sure that you would have 12000 people......but I bet that they are just as passionate...
Definately more so when it comes to the hardwood!!
Yeah but DC lead his team to the victory!!! Sweeter!  ;D
Yeah but Prudhomme gets to come back next year with 3 out of 5 starters with him!!!! ;) ;)
We already talking about next year?? Is Kerry Cooper on this thread?
Yeah kinda sounds like he is already tossing in the towel for this year!

16. This game was a little role reversal.  It is usually the Hawks that pull off the comeback(when one happens)  this time it was the Tigers.
17. This was a great game. The Hawks came to play but I believe our depth finally wore them out.  DC is very good and a lot of the plays he makes don't show up in the statistics. We hit our FTs down the stretch while the Hawks didn't.  Gus proved how good a PG he is. He seemed to find the open man at will.  When we made our run in the fourth, he was the only Hawk who seemed to handle the pressure. Bosha is gonna be a thorn in the Tigers side for quite a while.  I thought rebounding in the first half was big for the Hawks as well.  And when we would start a little run in the first half HJ would end it with a big shot.  One of those being a LONG rang 3 by Bosha.  Everything you could expect from this rivalry.
18. Hey when is the last time HJ was tied for last place in district? :D :D :D
19. 2 dunks. Note to Silsbee ISD lower the volume on music. And lower the roof on gym for the next 3 years so Bosha won't be able to shoot. ;)
20. You can't have the regional finals. ;)
21. Hawks missing their FTs now Tigers by 8
22. Tigers hitting free throws now. Up 8
23. Tigers starting to make some plays up by 5.
