  1. I have mixed feelings, love watching the fast paced game but as many complaints as there are on running up the score, imagine what a shot clock could lead to. not having one also allows some teams a better chance to compete.
  2. I think the big difference is that the report placed blame on the university for the cover up as well as the individual. In most of the other instances it was individual players. Not taking away from the incidents but that individual doesn't reflect on you but being a part of that university does. in this instance at Baylor I wouldn't want my name associated with the school at this time, but if I was at a school where a certain player committed such an act but thev niversity did nothing wrong I wouldn't necessarily want to transfer.
  3. I don't think it was hearing about it because yes that wa evident. But like you said you hear about it all over the place. I think it was having the report come out with evidence so to speak and the aftermath as well. Like I have said before now that there is a "report", how would it look later in life if you are up for a job and your name is known as a football player at Baylor around this time. Not something most people would want to be labeled as.
  4. Hopeful so....last year should have been the first year but it slipped by....so let's get this one.
  5. The big thing I see on Baylors part was trying to hide accusations or keep such for being made. You have the knowledge in the local case but I didn't see any coverup just some things that could have and should have been handled better..
  6. I know you know very well how it all went down at Silsbee. I am not arguing any point you made here except for that last statement. As for what I have been told one players decision to be removed from Baylor is largely a part of these findings. Did Briles removal play a part as well, I am sure it did.
  7. Like was said who is BC??
  8. Not unless there is some new thing that I haven't heard of yet..
  9. Ok is that a not "officially" yet?
  10. No I honestly don't care who won but one of the objects of these games is to get fans in the seats. Make the game better than a blow out and it will be more fun for the fans to see.
  11. I know it's a east vs worst thing but as far as the basketball game tonight....they might have considered changing that and balancing the teams a little better...
  12. SETXsports Staff 2,635 24,210 posts Posted 23 April · Report post I bet you would. It wouldn't be easy. Even if C leaves, Ozen still has a player with Silsbee roots that would step up... Do you remember the statement Soulja.........that player just informed me he is back home in Silsbee.......
  13. Those practices are going to be very valuable during a not so tough district schedule.
  14. I wish it was like that but it's the doth that's our key.
  15. Yes in the Tigers case I don't think I would necessarily be concerned with starters as much as who the finishers are. We may once again have 2 squads that are pretty even and could start but at the end of those tight ones it will come down to those finishers. And remember as far as depth we were missing at least 4 who will be big parts of the team this year.
  16. ok just saw a pic of Barnes with Jones and Tyler at TCU and saw a tweet that Barnes ran a 4-43 and a 4.39 today.......speed speed and more speed!
  17. Did Barnes miss as well? I saw a statement that he was at TCU?
  18. Definately not a joking matter. And one the issue wasn't that school officials tried to cover up the incident, the issue was how to handle it while the case was untried. Remember in this country even those accused of such acts are innocent until proven guilty. Were mistakes made or were there things that could have been handled better, of course. But the big difference in that and Baylor is that during that school year the accusations and charges had been made but no official outcome had come out yet hence the school was in a tough spot. In Baylors case that official outcome has just come out and now after that outcome and its effects is when these young men are wanting out of their letters of intent.
  19. Ok thanks, good to see a win and expect better things the more these guys play together.
  20. Were the football players there?
  21. How did tonight's game go?
  22. I am not going to guess really lots of directions the coaches can go. I am sure it will be the same 5 for 5 scheme from last year but you could go little and fast or start a big lineup with Devon at pt.. Great options to have.
  23. Pretty sure I have it figured out.
  24. Not sure I think here was a 7 on 7 game scheduled but it was canceled.
