  1. They are both mentally weak!!
  2. Those kids can feel whatever they want, but if a coach allows "dirty" play in a scrimmage, he should be disciplined himself. I was at one of the 7 on 7 games and yes there was a little pushing and shoving after the game.
  3. They had to hire someone from BC to write that!
  4. It is finalized. Not sure of game dates. But I am pretty sure of the games.
  5. As a fan I will admit at times, especially early in the season, to wishing names were on the back of jerseys just to learn who is who( new players new numbers etc.) I think as far as other things, save the money that would be used for other things. As far as the team aspect, I don't know. The focus should definitely be on the team not the individual. But not sure a name on the back of a jersey really focuses on an individual being that everyone's name would be on their jersey. Wouldnt announcing a players name after a big play do a lot more to single that player out.
  6. If the booster club provides the funds they are still the schools property not the students.
  7. So it was partly not true but like was pointed out still a cost many schools can't afford.
  8. I know at least in the past many schools used the same jerseys for several years...names on them wouldn't allow this.
  9. That was not supposed to be a ?
  10. Oh and I can add only 2 of those non district games are supposed to be at home. So I guess it's safe to say "We will go anywhere and play anyone!"
  11. All I can say is what I have been told and that was prior to this year. It's is quite obvious by the tournament schedule we played last year we weren't afraid to play anyone. And this years schedule will show that to be even more the case. We have only 3 schools that I can remember lower than 5A on the schedule LaMarque, HJ and Cleveland. LaMarque being the smallest but was in SA last year, HJ so that we continue our Hardin County rivalry and Cleveland who may be the weakest of our scheduled non district games. Then add in two thanksgiving event games In Houston and I believe the Woodlands and College Park to the SAISD, Dallas ISD and Fort Bend ISD tourneys and I doubt very seriously Sigler said no to Ozen, IF he did, for any other reason than not having a spot for them. We were playing Ozen yearly but after we beat them a time or two a few years ago they were no longer on the schedule. We have still been playing WB and Central even after the years Central beat us like a drum. So in no way does Ozen scare little old Silsbee.
  12. They are in our prayers?
  13. From what I have been told before Ozen won't play Silsbee but we do play Central.
  14. Excuses even more mental weakness!!
  15. I haven't seen anyone compare Jones to Johnson, all anyone said was he had the offers or was a D1 qb. I for one was not so impressed with Jeremy's passing in high school but his speed made him deadly. I know he worked very hard and improved his passing by the time he finished college. I don't believe Willie will have that speed but he will have enough speed to be dangerous and if his passing game is pretty good he will be just fine. One other part is Jeremy didn't have two running backs behind him the quality that Willie will have. But that o line coming together will be the wild card.
  16. Nobody said it would be easy! Remember Lincoln is still there as well.
  17. Dunk contest championships?? Don't think I would count that one as far as a best player statistic...
  18. Let's see 2 of the young ones last year were leaders on the team and all indications are Bush will be right there with them. Most of all the others that weren't there last year are srs.
  19. I don't think the players will have as much of a problem as fans and parents. These kids love playing together and had the same issue last year. As far as the newcomers, they have been playing with these guys for years as well and knew what the situation was upon returning home. The coaches and players handled it well last year, and I am sure they will this year.
  20. Not worried about Madison at all....since they dropped to 3A!!
  21. And Usain Bolt just put his name right there as well.
  22. I definitely agree Jordan had more room for error as a part of a team. There is no good way to compare an individual sport vs a team sport. The closest thing to me of an individual aspect for MJ was when someone made a statement against Jordan and then MJ always responded in a big way. Awful tough for me to take one over the other both ruled their world.
