  2. Still going through the learning process on the offensive side especially. I feel Coach Smith is still putting in more each week and may not want to show all his cards until necessary.
  3. Wish I could but have family plans already! Plus vacation starts that following Friday.
  4. All of those in that stadium in college station had the same last name.......even before they were married!!
  5. Just got a glimpse of big Pat!!
  6. And we have one Kaylon Barnes on the sideline...
  7. That screen has killed us tonight.
  8. Friday night you could see chunks of the field coming up and players going down on cuts....
  9. Just saw his tweet that he committed. Great job Jordan and great opportunity!
  10. I am not going to say anything on that except for the facts that words may have been exchanged both ways but there was an attack from behind that was the start of the physicality and I was there.
  11. I don't have a problem with this at all. I know the rule is a tie goes to the receiver but it sure looked Bruce had the ball and the receiver just reached in later and grabbed on. Those drops were huge. As it was this game was really about an 8 pt loss in my eyes. That last TD was one where the Tigers were at fault not focusing and thinking it was just going to be a kneel down.
  12. Jordan receive his third D1 offer today from the Baylor Bears!! Congratulations!! With 3 years to go the sky is the limit for this young man!
  13. Both teams did...but our school officials and Newton's had more sense than making donkeys of themselves.....
  14. The bands had no problem.....
  15. Yes they matter just not sure how much winning or losing these games mean, especially with a new coach trying to establish his system. Sure you want to gain some confidence. But you have to get there step by step and sometimes those steps are more important than the wins.
  16. 35 rushes 216 yds and somewhere around 120 on 3 plays a lot better against the run just have to cut out those big plays Now averaging almost 30 yards a completion......not good.
  17. At this point I am not sure how much Adonis is going to be used on offense. I know what ability he has but he is playing a big part on defense and it appears that they are trying to limit using players both ways. Now I know more is coming just have to wait and see how much.
  18. Rain is a variable you can't control a dry surface in that bad shape is controllable.
  19. No the field isn't an excuse. Like I said earlier I noticed it more on our end but that's because I was focused more on us. I did see Newton receivers fall a couple times. Once on what was a probable td. Yes both teams have to play on it and it's a shame that players can't make a cut without having any footing. It doesn't effect the straight up the field runners as much as it does the quick slashing backs. This is only the second game I have seen Tyler play and he looks to have the ability to do both. But almost every time last night that he had what looked like a good lane to turn upfield he lost his footing.
  20. The Tigers showed some improvement tonight. It's a shame they have to play on that surface. I can't count the plays that had potential to be big plays or better plays tonight that were effected by the field. Too many times a player tried to cut and the turf would just come up and down they would go. The run defense looked better for the most part except for the misdirection plays. Gave up a few big runs on those. The pass defense had a rough night. Some busted coverages gave up some big plays. Offensively tonight we looked a little bett as well. Line still needs some improvement but is getting there. And we saw a more balanced attack. The big problem tonight was too many dropped passes. That is a must fix! Great effort and never quit attitude. That last Newton td was a result of thinking they were just going to kneel down but ran play instead and scored. We have to watch for and be prepared for the unexpected. Once again tonight I was not impressed by the officiating. The "interception" that was called a pass completion was correct in that the rule is if they catch the ball simultaneously it goes to the offense but I sure appeared Bruce had the ball first and the receiver reached in and grabbed it a little later. Also had a late hit penalty on the Newton sideline with a flag thrown on our sideline. Looked like I saw y'all throw your flags so I want to as well. And glad to hear that Newton fan is doing ok. Will definitely keep praying.
  21. This game alone speaks, well way more than volumes for the need of turf.
  22. And yes at least 5 drops in that half.
  23. I have noticed a Tiger in position to make a play on defense and the ground disappear from under him and several times offensive players have lost their footing. I can't say I have noticed it on the other side as much but I am sure it has happened just as much.
