It was a tough time for that fg try for sure especially on a tough night kicking but I don't know if it was a bad time or not. Shows you have confidence in the kicker and gave him a chance to gain lots of confidence. Sure now that he missed you have to see how it affects him.

This one won't be worse than say 49-0.
-
Carthage already played Center may have been this past Friday.
-
Hmm from looking at this and the remaining schedules( although still some games that can change things), if my Tigers end up second it looks likely for a first round meeting with Carthage.

Good assessment. The only things I may disagree on was BC wanting it more. I think both teams put their heart and soul in it. One defensive stop by either team all night, that's tough. The one thing that got to me from our side were the long runs especially the ones on a third or fourth and long. Those are the ones that broke our back. Duboise definitely has the experience edge over Coach Smith and made some good play calls but not sure I would call it outcoaching. I would have to know how we tried to adjust to their offense and if it was carried out on the field or not to even try to assess that. Great game a good win and a tough loss.

From what I saw in our game,. Navasota's offense lacks a lot.
-
They also pitched a shutout. What's wrong with that WOS offense not to score any points?
-
Although as a Tiger fan you have to hope Navasota pulls this one out. Since the Tigers almost if not certainly would win a point spread tie breaker for seeding. I just don't see Navasota being able to do it after seeing both teams.
-
Maybe so I would have liked to seen how the coaches handled the extra points.
-
Maybe that's the difference maybe the other 15 yd penalty wasn't. Not sure I can't remember if it was unsportsmanlike for sure. Just know it was a dead ball 15 yd penalty so they awarded the first down placed the chains and then marked off 15 so ir was 1st and 25
-
Yes instead 20 seconds ran off then we called the time out.
-
The only way they shouldn't have stopped it is if his forward progress had been stopped and the play ended by a whistle. It looked from our side like he just ran out of bounds,. In that case the clock should have stopped. That 20 seconds could have been dangerous.

This was just Liberty dreaming about next week!
-
Yes I corrected myself a little farther down, still don't remember it but I remembered turning the ball over when we had a chance to get up by two scores.
-
Actually I think the clock stopped with the flag but it was an offensive penalty.
-
I think that ft try wasn't a that bad a decision. You have one play. Yes Tyler can get it there we know that. But that's tough to try a 25 yd run. As far as a throw....we haven't been real consistent and Barnes was having shoulder or arm problems. So it was not a real good chance either way. As far as trying to kick. He has shown he has the leg. He was struggling tonight. But give him a chance to be a hero and show him you have confidence and try to build his. I really couldnt argue with either call. Sure I understand the reasoning that we were having a bad kicking night but with 2 seconds left anything was just taking a shot.

I would have loved to see how this one would have panned out in OT!

Now as far as the game. Congratulations BC on a well earned win. That offense does just what it is designed to do eat up yards and time. And you definitely have a more speed than I thought. I thought we would at least get a few stops but other than the one we must have had early on we didn't stop you all night. Overall this was a game that you really hate to see anyone lose. Really the only stops were two turnovers. The difference in this game definitely wasn't the offense or the defense. And really only one part of the special teams...the kicker. BCs kicker made every one we missed 3 of 4 extra points. We did get two 2 PT conversions to cover for a couple of misses but that last one cost us. And in all fairness to our kicker on that one it really wasn't his fault. The snap was high and he had to take a stutter step before going on with the kick. That will definitely mess you up. And yes this year it definitely is obvious of the officiating shortage/ problem. I saw some missed calls both ways, naturally I remember mostly the ones that cost us but I did notice some both ways. I didn't really get to see the interference call that most feel was missed but I did notice a player making motions towards the Tiger sideline that could have drawn a flag. I also have to wonder why on the first possession of the second half, when BC ran for the first and got the unsportsmanlike, why wasn't it first and 25 like a similar situation in an earlier game. Want that a dead ball foul after the play? I don't feel or am not saying in any way that this was the reason we lost but sure would like to see a little better officiating overall. You know you have always heard if you can't stop a team you can't win, well tonight that was proven true on one side but false on the other.
-
I do think I was wrong, I don't actually remember the punt, but I do remember thinking early on that we had a chance to get up but two scores and then fumbled.
-
I don't think so I don't remember our punt return team all night. And we were talking about it at the game.
-
No.. no punts by either team. The only stops tonight were turnovers and the clock at the end of the halves.
-
I don't think we would or maybe should commit totally to the pass against BC!
-
Definitely. Either we committed totally to the pass or someone out there can't get off their block or make a play.
-
The defense definitely needs to step up this half. Rough part of it is they are spending a lot of time on the field!
-
Once again a well run slot t boring but effective!
