  1. Garrett has more championships than all those coaches combined: As a player 1986 - Plano Wildcats (5AAAAA State Champions) 1987 - Plano Wildcats (5AAAAA State Champions), (Mythical National Champions) 1988 - Navarro College (Texas Junior College Conference Champions), (Mythical National Champions) As a coach 2000-2001 - Northeast Oklahoma A&M College (Lone Star Conference Champions - 2nd in conference in overall offense) ***By the way...N.E.O. has 8 National Championships. 2002-2004 - Mississippi College (Passing Game Coordinator) *Lead the ASC (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi D-III conference in passing) 2005-2007 - Plano West (Offense ranked 7th in the state in 2006) 2008 - Duncanville (Working with Jeff Dicus, who is known for turning programs around, and took Duncanville to the playoffs for the first time in four years.) One word is associated with Garrett: CHAMPION
  2. I don't know....I just thought PNG was tired of "old school" football. I thought they were looking for a staff full of energy, excitement and discipline. I'm sure Burnett could have done the same thing in Callallen as Danaher. You have to look at who the kids will respond to. And I'm sure they are tired of "that kind" of football.
  3. You know who wants it...and you know he will do a great job! Good night to all and God Bless!!!
  4. Les Miles was "just" a tight ends coach before he became HC at Oklahoma State. Come on guys...you can't look at where they've been. You can only talk to the men, look at their blueprints, look at the staff they will be bringing with them and most importantly...look at where they are GOING. Both coaches are going to the top. The question is, which one do you want to take PN-G with them?
  5. Sounds to me like he applied just to be nice to his friend, but doesn't really want the job.
  6. I've seen several clinics in which the Odessa Permian offense was speaking, and it was the head coach talking. Faircloth was not. I think the head coach runs the offense and calls the plays.
  7. It doesn't really matter what ANYBODY thinks...except for those seven people hired to make the decision.
  8. That's the best idea I've heard on here! I would imagine most Indians could care less how they debate. If we were hiring a debate team coach...perhaps. Past performance is indicative of future success. Not true. Many good coaches just haven't been given the shot yet. To The Young Coach If an assistant coach (which I assume you are talking about) has demonstrated his ability to lead a successful offense in a program somewhere else, he will eventually get his chance. It will be a smaller school, but talent eventually rises to the top. It's a hard pill to swallow for a 4A school to hire an assistant. It's an even bigger decision when you have a high profile school that has garnered this much publicity (unwanted) in their search. I may be wrong, but I believe it's rare to find a large 4A or 5A school turn their program over to someone who hasn't had executive experience. I use the word "executive" because it's similar to the president of a company that answers to a Board (in our case a school board.) You want someone who has dealt with that level of responsibility. Now, in our situation, we have an interested executive that has not only satisfied his current Board, but has increased share price every year for 24 years. I would think this is the Executive that would be chosen to make our company profitable again. I believe Garrett has proven his ability to lead and handle responsibility while serving his country in Desert Storm. Being in charge of 40+ men's lives while taking fire shows a lot more responsibility than handling a football team and answering to a school board. Plus, like I've said before, it's not like all he has done is coach high school football. He had several college stops...full-time jobs, not G.A. jobs....one in which he was the OC. Plus...you have to remember this one little fact...he got an interview...so obviously there are some people on that committee that think he could be the man for the job.
  9. I guess thats one way to have leverage in getting a raise! BISD has decided to pay Stump what Stowers was making and he will be coaching both Central and WB. That is the only way they can afford to pay him what he told PNG he wanted. LMAO....another reason they should hire the G man! He would probably take less than anybody on that list!
  10. I'm sure he got what he wanted out of having his name on the list and being publisized! wonder how much they bumped him at LH to stay. This is what's wrong with the list being made public before hand! Schools wasting time and money to interview candidates that really have no interest other than to squeeze more money out of their current employers. I agree.
  11. Dude.....I'm not Chris Garrett!!! And he doesn't have to promote himself. I guess I should start calling you STUMP then!
  12. It won't get much bigger. It's landlocked between Frisco and Lake Lewisville and almost completely built up. It's about 27,000 now and will struggle to break 30,000. School district is terrible. Very nice facilities though.... Yes, I had thought about applying in Little Elm a few years ago, and asked a friend of mine who teaches in Lewisville and he rolled his eyes and said, " You don't want the job. The place has problems." But i don't know anything else. The school is pretty however... Yes it is...and has a brand new stadium just like PN-G, but you know it's a bad school district when houses on one side of the street are selling for a lot more than houses on the other side of the street just because it says "Frisco ISD" on the sign when it's in Little Elm city limits!
  13. It won't get much bigger. It's landlocked between Frisco and Lake Lewisville and almost completely built up. It's about 27,000 now and will struggle to break 30,000. School district is terrible. Very nice facilities though....
  14. I just quoted him on that! Sorry wannabe-ceauxch.....you need to go find another thread to spend all day on now.
  15. Does that mean if PNG Doesnt get Stump then no one will show up to the games? I feel sorry for whoever your coach is going to be. He is not going to be given a "Fair" chance because of you guys that have this man-festation for Stump. I am all for you guys getting excited about a particular coach, but he hasnt even applied. If this was who the board really wanted, then why have coaches apply at all. At least let Stump turn the Job down and then have applicants apply. Instead you have Coaches apply and have them travel for interviews, but you want to hire someone that didnt apply? It doesnt make sense to me, but then again I never understood the obsession PNG has with itself anyway. Stump isn't even in the equation. It's Garrett's or Faircloth's.
  16. I knew where the game was being played! Maybe Big Ned will let you little Indians hang in there until the 4th quarter this year. I felt sorry for you guys last year when ya'll were leaving the stadium in the 3rd quarter. If Garrett gets hired, Ned will be leaving in the 3rd quarter!
