  1. I guess OU should have told Stoops, "Sorry, Bob, you are too young to lead this team." Instead, they hired a young, energetic, and innovative head coach who surrounded himself with great coaches and went to work. I think it worked out pretty well for them. THANK YOU!
  2. That's the best idea I've heard on here! I would imagine most Indians could care less how they debate. If we were hiring a debate team coach...perhaps. Past performance is indicative of future success. Not true. Many good coaches just haven't been given the shot yet.
  3. I "speculate" that he would like more money for retirement! Either that, or he would like to go back to LH and say, "this is what PN-G is offering me, can you match that?" Hey Young Coach, do you know how old Vance is? He looks to be about the same age as Danaher. From what I'm seeing and hearing, the top contenders for PNG HC/AD are Garrett, Vance, Danaher. I'm not sure how old Vance is, but I'm guessing early 60's? Same as Danaher....both ready for retirement after they get their best three years of salary. Of course...that's just my "speculation". I could be wrong. I still say the best two candidates for PN-G; somebody that will be there for 15+ years and continue the honor, pride and tradition that the Indians pride themselves upon, are Garrett and Faircloth.

  5. First of all...I'm not Garrett. I know all of you think you have everything figured out...but you know nothing. You just like to think you do. First, you all thought that PNG was hiding something and breaking the law by not releasing the list. Second, you finally get your precious list and think PNG is trying to hire somebody that's not on the list. Third, you try and bash coaches that are on the list by saying they coach 9th grade football. Shepton is a 9th/10th grade campus. He was the 10th grade OC there, which is the equivelant of a 5-A JV B team, which is about the equivelant of a 3-A varsity team. I guess you don't consider being a college OC worth anything either, huh? Or a platoon leader during a war anything either? You can try and belittle a man all you want, but unless you get to know him, you don't have a clue. That's why they have interviews. If not, they would just hire somebody based on resumes. Give it up, man.
  6. Why the hate? Are you scared if your buddy doesn't get hired you won't get that job at PN-G? I mean....come on...you're ripping on somebody that you don't even know. Pretty immature. And you're calling ME very, very young? Grow up.
  7. I don't know. I just know they interviewed a bunch of guys this week and I'm sure they will narrow down the list by Monday and either make a decision or have second interviews next week. PN-G doesn't have to chase anybody. They have plenty of quality applicants.
  8. My prayers go out to this coach, his family and the players' family and teammates.
  9. I think he and Garrett will be the final two choices. Both great men. Where did Faircloth go to high school?
  10. He currently coaches TE's and Inside Receivers, but has coached OL, RB, QB and WR at all levels, including college. Duncanville currently runs the Lake Travis offense, which isn't too shabby. Something that PN-G would probably be interested in getting on the Reservation! Dang, this guy has a good resume. Anything with the words "Lake Travis" attached gets attention. Do you know if he has ever been a HC/AD? I keep hearing his name being mentioned over and over........ Duncanville is 4A, right? How old is he? Sounds like he's got a lot of substance. Any other info you know about him, why he's wanting to change, years as a HC, W-L record, etc? Duncanville is 5A and with Jeff Dicus at the helm, will again become a powerhouse like they were in the late 90's. 1998 was the year they won state in Football and Basketball and made it to the finals in Baseball. He is in his late 30's...39 I think. They are running the same offense and defense that Lake Travis runs, plus Jeff Dicus is doing the same thing at Duncanville that he did at Lake Travis, making champions. Something that Garrett I'm sure has picked up on while being at Duncanville. Garrett has been a champion as a player, (two years at Plano....86 & 87) and he won a national championship as a coach while coaching WR's at the junior college level, using the Jenks' offense. He has never been a head coach, but is definitely capable of being a great one. Oh...I almost forgot...he was a squad leader in Desert Storm while serving in the Marines. Yeah...he's got a "little bit" of leadership experience!

  12. Why? So he can make the most money he's ever made for three years and retire using that salary as his base? That's not what PN-G is looking for. They want somebody to carry the tradition and take it to the next level for the next 20 years. You have no clue!! Stump has two sons, one in 9th grade and I think the other is in 7th or 8th. He will be around a while longer than that too. I can honestly see him coaching for around 15+ years with great success at PNG. We shall all find out very quickly who the new Head Chief is. Until then....enjoy bashing applicants and supporting non-applicants and spreading rumors about people that didn't even apply for the job. Now you know why PN-G didn't want to release the list.
  13. Well good for you. I'll make sure and give you a cookie when I meet you in person.
  14. PN-G will always stay classy. Something very few districts understand. If you're not a part of it, or a school with that same kind of tradition, you will never understand. There were never any secret meetings or interviewing of people not on the list. Why don't you ask Dr. Randall if you want the truth.
  15. Gabe, either there are a LOT of folks afraid PNG will hire Stump, or, that PNG will hire off the list, or, that there is a conspiracy in the brewing, or......or......or.....it doesnt matter! Most of these folks like to "bash" PNG no matter what..........hmmm.....better watch it, some of "your" coaches may quit and PNG will have thier turn for bashing! However, PNG wouldn't stoop that low. No matter what, PNG stands for the HONOR, PRIDE, and TRADITION that has always and will always be the the catalyst that keeps drawing our huge fan base. THAT'S RIGHT!!!
  16. I'm pretty sure I know more about what they want than you do. Just a hunch... I doubt it!!! Buddy Somebody please clue this guy in...I don't have the heart.
