  1. I'm pretty sure I know more about what they want than you do. Just a hunch...
  2. Na, not at all! They have just met for the heck of it. The Corpus guy will NOT be the right hire for us. Who is "they"? I know for a fact that "the hiring committee" didn't meet with him...and that's about all that matters. so you really think Garretts the guy? If youth is what you want PNG should have looked no further than one of their own. If he somehow lands the LCM gig PNG will find out really fast how they dropped the ball with that one. Well, they want more than that. That's why they interviewed him.

  4. He was never a Duncanville 9th grade coach. His first year at Duncanville was this year and he was a varsity TE/Inside Recievers coach. Before that, he coached in Plano and before that, he coached seven years of college football, including two years as an OC. Get your facts straight.
  5. He would have to learn to throw the ball though, not going to come here and run every play. EXACTLY! Plus...Stump isn't planning on carrying the PN-G tradition for 20 years.
  6. Why? So he can make the most money he's ever made for three years and retire using that salary as his base? That's not what PN-G is looking for. They want somebody to carry the tradition and take it to the next level for the next 20 years.
  7. Vance and Danaher are probably just looking for three highest paying years to use as retirement base, then they are done. Is that really what PN-G fans want? A short-term winner? I doubt it. I think they want somebody that plans on staying there for a long time and doesn't mind getting a little input from Burnett. Something Vance or Danaher would never do.

  9. I'm not against open information. I'm against people thinking they know who the head coach should be based upon a list. I believe that the people ELECTED AND HIRED BY THE TAXPAYERS know what is best, not people on a message board. 10 days from the letter received. So, January 31, after they have chosen a new head coach! So; therefore, the point is moot.
  10. Probably. It just hurts the program though. Too many good ol' boys out there that think so-and-so would have made a better head coach than the one that gets hired.
  11. They have to release the name of the applicants. If the list contains one of the names of the new head coach, it's not a list of applicants any more!
  12. if I knew the "5 finalists" like you... I wouldn't be that curious. I don't know who the 5 finalists are. I just know who one is. Curious to see who the other four are.
  13. Well...interviews are being conducted today and tomorrow. One of those five gentlemen will be the next PN-G head coach. End of story. I bet they hire one with a masters. I hope so! 8)
  14. It doesn't matter to me what they do. I trust that the are doing what's best for the program and that's all that really matters. I'm just as curious as you are who applied, but I'm not losing any sleep over it!

  16. you're such a tease! Not teasing.....there are a few people on here that can vouch for me on the fact that there is one guy on that list that is interviewing at PNG this week. Yes... a tease because you lead us on and don't give any info. I promise...if I could, I would. It wouldn't matter if I told you. You'll figure it out next week!

  18. Some coaches just don't know how to get kids excited for the football program. I would hire somebody that has the blueprint on how to win championships, not necessarily base it on hc experience or LC-M ties. Obviously the way it's been done at LC-M hasn't worked, so I would get somebody from the outside.
