  1. There is more to some of these than just points per game, rebounds per game, and blocks per game. For defensive player of the year: who gave the most fits to the other teams best player. Might not have gotten any steals, but gave them the most issues and made them work for everything. Doesn’t show up in a box score. For offensive player of the year: who dictated what they did on offense. Who handled the load, scored, and distributed the ball. Assists count as points scored too. MVP: who on the best team shouldered the burden of winning. I don’t see anything wrong with who won any of these awards. Were there other kids deserving as well? For sure. This was a strong district. The tri coach of the year I think is a joke. Choose someone and move on. BTW, I do think McDonald did more with less and was the most deserving. Adults should not need the same accolades as kids. I agree that first team and second team should have 5 each. Do kids get left off? Yes, but it will mean more. 10 kids for first team is over the top. Just my two cents that are worth nothing. BTW, football all district is way worse.
  2. Anybody know the all district selections for 22-4A?
  3. He didn’t have 100 3s in district. I dont think anyone would say that he isn’t a good player, but there wasn’t another player in district that could be deserving of this more?
  4. I don't think that they would play locally. They would meet in the Regional Finals which I believe is played in Katy. I may be wrong on the location though.
  5. Weren’t some people on here calling for the coach’s job earlier this year? Did he make some changes or did his decisions end up being the right ones anyway?
  6. Really going to miss watching P. Wrinkle play. He played with such energy on both ends of the floor. His game really developed over the past couple of years. Hopefully the bobcats can have a good offseason and make some noise in 3A next year.
  7. Via Twitter: Our season comes to an end tonight with a loss against a good Hamshire-Fannett team 67-60. Highlights: @paytonwrinkle: 25 @peteragusa5: 18 @koen_maddox: 9 The Bobcats finish the year 26-11. Thank you to our seniors! Thank you to our community & school for the support!
  8. If the other big doesn't play for WOS against Yates, there is little chance that West Orange can beat them. Not sure why he didn't play last night.
  9. I completely agree with this. The debate over who is the best player is entertaining, but I don’t think anyone can deny the job that McDonald has done this year. I think the key is the teamwork that happened when #5 was out for those games. The defense and ball movement was great. You had other players that took on larger roles, such as #14. 3A better watch out next year. But enough about next year, take care of HF on Tuesday.
  10. No, they were upset in the first round by Bridge City.
  11. As the district season comes to an end, looks like the coaches and TABC got some of these right and got many of them completely wrong. OF, LCM, and Kountze proved some people wrong this year.
  12. So if HJ wins, do HF and Huffman tie for 2nd and Livingston gets 4th?
  13. Via Twitter The Bobcats take down down vidor 62-44 in the regular season finale. @peteragusa5 17 points 5 assists Zane Wrinkle 15 points 6 rebounds @koen_maddox 9 points 6 rebounds @Parker_Brayden1 6 points 7 rebounds 25-9 & 9-3
  14. LCM celebrated senior night last week vs. Vidor.
  15. With your scenario though, Lumberton would have to attempt a shot and then play defense. They would also have to break a press and probably turn the ball over multiple times resulting in numerous Silsbee points. IMO, they should have just stalled the same way they did after this fiasco. Pass and cut and spread the floor. It seemed to work since they were losing that bad at the half.
  16. Winning out means they beat Silsbee. Probably not going to happen.
  17. 2nd place seed is OF no matter what the outcome of Friday is since they swept LCM. OF fights through adversity so many times and comes away with wins. Playing without one of your main scorers for about 4 district ball games is not easy and they really came together as a team. They are fun to watch.
  18. Via Twitter: The Bobcats win a big one over a good LCM tonight on senior night 49-44. Big shout out to @ohsstudentsec21 and the community for the support! The Bobcats move to 24-9 & 8-3 highlights: @paytonwrinkle 20 points 3 assists @peteragusa5 12 points Zane Wrinkle 7 points 2 assist
  19. Other teams in this district have attempted to play and been competitive for a small period of time. Either way, they have all gotten beat handily. I would take more pride in getting beat while playing ball than doing something like this, but that is just me.
  20. I think disciplined or undisciplined basketball comes from the coach's philosophy. I would definitely say that this coach prefers the more undisciplined approach, at least to handling his players.
  21. I believe the key is for Silsbee to get a lead early. Once that happens, WOS will self implode. #15 will start to act out and walk back on defense. Silsbee just can't let them hang around.
  22. #2 Silsbee 9-0 LC-M 7-2 Orangefield 7-3 WO-S 5-4 Lumberton 3-7 Bridge City 1-8 Vidor. 1-9 Big matchups this week: WOS at Silsbee, LCM at OF, Silsbee at LCM
