I agree that those coaches will probably be weeding themselves out if they do, but it isn’t far fetched that some may. Without Jones it’ll be tough to win the district, and with the pressure of following up a great coach with Sigler and the high expectations that come along with that I could see some shying away.

He was top three, he was only game one guy because J Clark was hurt if my memory serves me correct though, Clark was definitely best on the mound. But it was a really good team overall.

He was a good player, but those other two led them in the playoffs too. I was responding to the post that made it seem like he was the sole reason for them winning.

Lead them as a player? I remember there being a lot of good players on that team, Baxter and J Clark both really good. Craft, Sheppard and Hillin probably next three best, so saying that he lead them is a stretch. As far as leading them Terrier was at the helm, and K Clark has been learning from him for all this time and have heard he could have left for other jobs at schools that some would even consider better baseball job than Buna.

Kountze and Buna are two totally different programs, with much different expectations. The handling of a certain situation this season could effect his chances too.

It can be, it also can be more valuable than being a coordinator or head coach somewhere that has never been successful just to say you have coordinator or head coach experience. I imagine the people conducting interviews not only for this job but his previous jobs have vetted him to see what his roles were there and how much input he had or how much he learned from his time there.

In many cases the experience of learning from a guy who has been successful in that same position is more valuable than going elsewhere just to say you are a head coach. I would say it varies based on the situation though.

Obviously there are more factors than that, depends on how good of a job you did while at the school, have you proven to have the qualities and skills to be the head coach in your tenure there etc.. If you have done those things and could have left to go elsewhere to be a head coach but chose to stay then loyalty should probably be rewarded.

Woodville currently does not fall in the majority, I was just saying that is a pretty good place to be and looks a lot better on a resume than plenty of other places out there.

One of 20 assistants at Aledo is probably better than being the head coach at a majority of 3A schools

This has to get some pretty good applicants right? Historically pretty good and great new facilities..

I would think Williams would stay around helping if it was Clark too, so probably get a two for one deal with Clark.
