It can be, it also can be more valuable than being a coordinator or head coach somewhere that has never been successful just to say you have coordinator or head coach experience. I imagine the people conducting interviews not only for this job but his previous jobs have vetted him to see what his roles were there and how much input he had or how much he learned from his time there.

In many cases the experience of learning from a guy who has been successful in that same position is more valuable than going elsewhere just to say you are a head coach. I would say it varies based on the situation though.

Obviously there are more factors than that, depends on how good of a job you did while at the school, have you proven to have the qualities and skills to be the head coach in your tenure there etc.. If you have done those things and could have left to go elsewhere to be a head coach but chose to stay then loyalty should probably be rewarded.

Woodville currently does not fall in the majority, I was just saying that is a pretty good place to be and looks a lot better on a resume than plenty of other places out there.

I would think Williams would stay around helping if it was Clark too, so probably get a two for one deal with Clark.

I don’t know about free throws, but I haven’t seen any of his teams shoot the 3 as well as Silsbee has over the last 5 years..

I heard earlier this week that Robertson, former BC coach, had an interview.

I don't not like him I think he is a fine coach, I am with Bullets on it just being comical that either his groupies, (or him) get on here and act like he is god's gift to basketball with no actual stats to back it up.

AAW do you know if Hancock applied? I feel like he would be a good fit with ties to the area.

Even if he did apply, I do not think Silsbee is looking to hire a guy who is going to try to coach in a style he has never coached before, that is an elite job, they will get someone with a better resume that already knows about coaching their style of basketball.

Exactly he has success for Lumberton with his system, why would he change to a new system just because he got a new job? He wouldn’t which is why it makes sense that AAW said he didn’t apply.

When has he ever done it? I doubt he is going to change his whole identity just because he gets a new gig.

I definitely do not think his style would fit, do not see stall ball being a big hit with Tiger Fans lol but I assumed anyone who is a “basketball” guy would apply.

Yeah I was talking west of Silsbee should have been more specific, I am surprised Mitchell did not apply either though.
