Couldn't deweyville opt to play in Div. 1 of 2A and go back to the old district?  You can't raise the number for 1A because there are already more 1A schools in spring sports than any other classification.

They could have opted up to div 1 and played with anahuac's district.

They could have opted to move up to large school 1a.

Not really.  If you think that behavior is acceptable, you are insane.  I just went to watch a good game.  I sat on HJ side because it wasn't as crowded when I got there.  I suppose the flag bearer did not get taken out of the gym either.

What a shame that a great victory by Silsbee was tainted by the thugs going across the court and taunting the HJ fans.  Worse display of sportsmanship Ive seen in a long time.  Saw one silsbee player take his jersey off and square up to the fans,  He was restrained by a silsbee police officer.

1A numbers can't go up too much.  Remember, spring sports, especially track, already have 12 to 16 teams in each district.

If this job is filled from within(promotion), it does not have to be posted.  Even if they post it, they could say internal applicants only.  Financial exigency trumps a lot of things.

Is Celaya still the DC?  If so, yeoj needs to quit getting on the football board.  I know Al and he is one of the best around.  I can almost guarantee that he has more football knowledge and coaching ability in his big toe than anyone who would get on this board and criticize him.

Sometimes it is hard to get kids to commit over the holidays. How many do they normally carry on varsity?

You can only have so many on the team.  How many of the players at his position was he better than? Since you are talking about tackles, I assume this is strictly about defense.  remember, he probably played the full 4 quarters while most of the others for the remaining teams didn't in lopsided games.  Could be a reason for more tackles.?

Just curious, those on here criticizing the vote, how many voted for Obama.  That was certainly not a vote on stats! 

Football is not for everyone.  you really have to like it.
