    I think it's tough to judge a team by one game, especially if its a bad game... The game court side watched watched Slocum was their only district loss of the season.  Most of their district wins were margins over 20 pts.  In fact, the other time they played Lovelady they beat them by 20+ pts.  If court side wouldve seen a different game, i think he wouldve had a different impression, like when they beat Brookeland, or when they won at Laneville, or played region 3 favorite Cayuga to the wire.  And to say Slocum isnt in Big Sandy's class is way off.  Go on eastexsports and ask YUGAHOOPS (Cayugas coach) what he thinks and he would laugh at the comment.  By the way, just an observation, but most people are picking Slocum on eastexsports and most people on setxsports are picking Big Sandy, is there any coincidence to that?

    My prediction is still that we will see a great game tomorrow night!

    If any one really watched the Brookeland/Slocum game and really knew how Brookeland really played they would realize that the didnt play worth Sh!t that game. Going into Halftime with a 20 pt deficit. and eventually lose by 2. Just the day before Brookeland beat Lovelady 102-68. Brookeland played horrible end of story.

    Slocum better not let people hype them up to much. Stangs enjoy the rest of the day til game time.

    what do you mean last year this district sent 2 teams to the regional tourny only other district in 1A that did that was MM and cayuga and this year 3 teams are still alive in the playoffs and possibly will sent 2 more teams back to the regional finals so if this district isnt one of the toughest in the state idk what district would be?

    You say last year sent to teams to the regional tourney Congrats that was LAST year, new year, new players. The BS and Spurger teams are strong, but to say they are from the best district in the State, is a little bit of a bold prediction if i would say so.  ;D :D

    I think if you look at the 21-3A teams you will see that the teams other than HJ-SILS-OF were not as strong as everyone predicted earlier in the season. I know I was surprised when HJ played them. So, was it really exceptional caoching by OF that got them the wins over these teams or was OF the 3rd best team in the District from the beginning because of their talent. Also, remember the 30 point loss to Silsbee late in the year at OF. The main reason given for the OF coach to win has been based off early predictions and where their team ended up. On the other hand Silsbee was predicted by many to beat HJ (review the thread from the tie-breaker game at the montagne center) and HJ beat them by over 20. Weren't they predicted to either win or come in second in district at the beginning of the season. They lost to HJ by double figures twice and won 1 game by 2 points at Silsbee. The word on the street early on was HJ could not stop their quick guards, but they did!! The only reason given for Sutherland not to win the award was because he had the most talent. Whether some HJ games were close or not is irrevelant. Whether HJ players were hurt during the season is also irrelevant. You still have to put your players in a position to win each night and no-one does or did that better than Sutherland. You can try to justify him not getting the award all day long but I think anyone that looks at the district as a whole will see that Sutherland is the coach that most would want directing their program because of exactly what HJ did on the court this year. HJ won the games they were suppose to win and won district doing it. Do I think the coach from OF and Sils are good? You bet I do. Do I think they out coached Sutherland during District 21-3A? Not even close!!!!

    I have a statement to make. I dont want this junk to just step on everyones toys. Being an outsider looking in. Everyone seemed to be suprised that OF place 3rd in the district. Everyone with half a brain new who would be the top 2 teams. duh ( ::)) Maybe its the fact that many of the teams just had downs years???.. And plus, after HJ and Silsbee you have a drop off. ( Before anybody gets there panties all in a wad) Grant it they did play 2 of the 4 games close. But if they played HJ 10 times and Silsbee 10 times. I give them blowouts 9 of the 10...Ok im rambling now back to what I was saying,

    Look at the teams that are in the district beside HJ Silsbee..

  24. HD vs. Zavalla Playoff Predictions?

    Thanks 2qwik, well if what you tell me is exact they seem to be 2qwik4 ( ;D) Zavalla.

    Zavalla plays more of a dileberate half court ball, with MANY low scoring games, (It seems to me that every team out of that district plays the same way) ,if HD does run and gun, then the posts for Zavalla will have little or no impact at all.

    well I'm still going to go with Zavalla with the upset, my intuition tells me to go with this... ;D

    Oh I also heard through the grapevine that  Dickie V had a short stint with the Backyard Wrestling Federation (BWF),

    He was known by the stage name i believe, "the Dicktator", I heard he once took 5 guys on at a time while he still had time to update new posts on SETXSPORTS.COM. That's just plum rediculous!!! I just thought I would let people know, Dickie V is a man of a million professions, and also  I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley.  ;D ;D
