  1. This was all Roc's fault, in my opinion. I've been to every home game except for 1 this season. This happens every game. We get the lead and Roc switches the offense in to keep away mode. Williams had the ball at the 3 point line with nobody on him like 4 possessions in a row and did not take a shot one of them. We would be wide open and throw the ball back to the point out front. Maybe I just do not understand the thought process of slowing down the game when we get the lead. Hopefully the track meet next weekend will last long enough so I can miss them chalk up another L.
  2. I don't know much of the results from Nederland. Here is a few though. 3200 Tim Cude BC-10:09 1st place 800 Joe Dooley Deweyville-2:00 1st place 1600 Joe Dooley Deweyville-4:39 Tim Cude BC-4:41 Kirby Shephard BC-4:50 Westbrook kid-4:5x Brandon Simoneaux BC-5:00 Dayton kid won the 110 hurdles in 14.6ish. Central won the 4x200, WOS finished 2.
  3. Summer track is one of the best things a track athlete can do. It is a way to keep up your skills or get ready for the next sport and just have some fun doing it. It can also lead to some scholarships if you do it as an older athlete. Most of the people that I talk to at cross country and track meets this year who are D1 and D2 athletes all ran for a track club over the summers. I made the mistake of not running summer track when I got to high school to focus more on summer mileage, but they are a great way to get some summer speed runs in to keep the speed up for cross season and they were alwyas fun.
  4. Since this is BC's first year in soccer, I don't think they will win very many. I have heard that they have played some schools close though. Hopefully things will get going in a year or two. HJ probably wins this one.
  5. I'll be there. Hope we can get the win tonight.
  6. Here are a few girls based off of cross country who should do well. I don't have times or projections, but they all ran pretty fast in cc. 3A Mary Nguyen BC Meagan Shockley BC Jessica Franklin BC Carli Langley HF Jaime King HJ Stephanie Hernandez Huffman Taeler Marshall Huffman Angelina Covington Huffman Haili Beam Liberty Laura Kerr Liberty 4A Larissa Rios BH Crystal Brindle Lumberton Reanna Edgerton LCM Madison Kieschnick Nederland Hannah Stouffer Dayton
  7. I have seen several recruits around campus on visits. I'm sure that we will have some good ones coming in though
  8. I am probably missing several but these are the top returners that I know of from last year. Tim Cude BC- Ran 10:04 indoor recently. He will easily break 10 in outdoor and should be close or under 430 in the 1600. Kirby Shepherd BC-Ran 4:34 and 2:04 as a freshman. I would think he would improve to under 4:30 and under 2:00. Joe Dooley Deweyville- Has qualified for state in the 800 and 1600. He ran a 1:57 last year and low 4:30s as well. Harvinder Singh Huffman- This is going more off of Cross Country than last track season. He will be up with all of these guys in the 1600 and 3200 or 800.
  9. 37 points in the paint is way too many to give up. We need better D or we won't go anywhere.
  10. I'll be there and I agree 3500 seems to be the average.
  11. 106-65 Lamar wins. Dawkins-23 pts,10 steals Brown-15 pts, 13 rebounds Hall-17 pts McThay-18 pts
  12. Your supposed to have a student/faculty parking permit to park there. I wouldn't pay the ticket for that though.
  13. I sort of thought Custer's performances lately were luck, but I think might contribute close to this on a nightly basis. Also, those were some monster blocks by Jay Brown.
  14. A great win! Very exciting and the crowd was into it all night.
  15. It is a red-out(even though Tech is red as well), so everybody should wear some red!
  16. There was a facebook group started last night but the problem with that is its only sent to friends of the person who started it. Only 582 people will know about this unless those 582 send it to their friends and they send it to their friends and so on. I haven't seen any flyers being handed out and have not got an e-mail from lu crew(it is only Thursday though). I have heard about the other promotions but they aren't promoting them very well. If I was not an athlete or came on here, I am not sure I would know about this game unless they do put the table in the Set. The march to the montagne sounds like a good idea for the dorms to do. That itself could be sort of a promotion.
  17. If we beat Tech, they won't come back regardless of how many is in attendance. You are right though, there should be more emphasis out in the public about this game. A few billboards and some TV spots should be the least Lamar should be doing. I haven't seen anything like that, yet. But, with that said, I will be highly disappointed if there is not at least 1500 or more students in attendance. They are the ones who needs to step up and come in masses. That is what Lamar has lacked over the last few years, great student support at the games. Its not just the public. There isn't a whole lot being said about it on campus either. I thought there would be more hype about this game around campus with Tech coming. I have been hearing from a lot of people that I have talked to though that they are going to this game. I don't know if 1500 will show up, but it would be great if that and many more came.
  18. Dawkins is now 14-14 on FTs. Does he have a chance of getting Sunblad's record of 92% or does he drop off?
  19. Great game and Im glad we got free chicken . Skyler Williams has some ups.
  20. I'M READY!!! ;D. I can't wait to see how the team looks, even though it is against D3 opponent. I didn't know that we were on a 13 game home winning streak. Lets hope to keep that going.
