Jasper isn't exactly a central location to both teams correct? I have seen they have an awesome field though. Hardin Jefferson would probably be the "half way point" for each team although HJ is still playing.
I would think HJ is not an option unless in the last year they have built a concession stand and installed their lights.
Jasper is the nicest facility that we (the Mustangs) have played at this year (so far). That is probably why we played 2 tournaments there this season. Also, the relationship with Coach Westbrook does not hurt.

1 gamer? Shea lost the toss or is that what he wanted? It's ok though, we will have J.Dallas, C.Dallas and Rags ready to go. Dang good 123 punch if needed!! Now if we could just get huge Te'ron to use his size hitting!! Lol! Kid is a monster! He did have a good double today I believe though.
Rags is not the #3. He has been good in relief but Tre Bernard has been the other starter this season.

I think he might go to college as a kicker. Don't know how many ppl actually paid a attention to it. But how many kickers in any classification actually have touch backs. And he is very aggressive at making tackles on the kick offs. Sometimes ppl get put in a position that actually turns out to b a hidden gem. He will only get better and better.
Chad had 18 touch backs for the season. He also averaged 50-55 yards per kickoff (which means each kick was fielded inside the 10 yard line). Field position was definitely in our favor as a result of Chad's success.
Thanks for doing a thankless job and one that most fans take for granted. Also, thanks to Ryan Ragsdale, Teron Brown for the deep snapping as well as KJ Miller and BB Tezeno for the holds.

Chad was named 2nd team all district... I bet he had more tackles on kickoffs. Lol.
I am so proud of that kid.

I bet they are working on punting it out of bounds .
Sweetwater punted out of bounds every time vs Gilmer --- 3 punts for a 22.3 yard average. Look for them to do this again Friday and when field position allows, they will go for it on 4th down.

I'm still enjoying the victory last night. Honestly haven't asked but I'll find out later. Sitting here trying to make myself believe all of this is real. When these boys were very young we knew they were special. As they got to be 9, 10, and 11 the reality of what we thought was right before our eyes. We said back then that they had 2 State Championships in them. Now we've lost a few of those boys. A couple of them moved to Beaumont and actually one is visiting Yale this weekend to play football. The pride and joy that these boys have given me and a lot of other people is just amazing. I didn't mean to go on a rant about the boys but it's just what's on my mind right now. Can you even imagine? Three State appearance in a row. Not to mention a State appearance in baseball. Thanks for the ride fellas!!!!
I was reflecting back this morning as well TD. What a ride!!! I have been so proud of these young men on and off the field. Sometimes I am amazed at what I see but most of the time I am not because I have seen it happen before.
Thanks again for the ride boys... now go get that ring!!!!

I'm not sure, but I think that may be the case. td probably knows more about that.
We should be visitor like we were 2 years ago. My understanding is that they rotate every year between the regions. Last year regions 3 or 4 were the home teams. This year regions 1 or 2 would be the home team.

You know, Dexter. I had never seen a "pancake fake" but now I can say I have after I saw Keion Hancock put some poor Giddings defender on his rear end last night.
I must have missed that one.

Big time shout out to Paul Ivory who stepped in at center for Rags who was nursing an injury... I know it started a little rough but for someone who had never done it on this stage, well ...you have to give the kid a ton of credit. WELL DONE Paul.

Yeah, but all of them big boys gave the Giddings trainers some things to do as the 'Stangs broke quite a few ankles last night!
Skipper may understand this quote a little better... "those big boys kept the managers busy because the 'stangs kept faking them out of their jocks"...

I feel like The wing T/ Slot T works in this Humongous 4A D2 that you speak of. 3 years ago this was 3a D2. The only reason we movedup was the creation of 6a.
Who said anything about Humongous? All I said was that this offense would not win here (meaning in this game against this team - WOS).

And that garbage and a waste of time won the 3A D1 state championship last year
This is 4A D2 and that offense is not going to cut it here.

They had the same RB last year and only managed 3 points
I just hope they (think they) can cover punts and kick it to 15 and 4 !!!

Let it also be said that #49's kickoffs have been inside the 10 yard line almost every time, and more than a few times at the goal line. That IS a big improvement and makes it even tougher on the receiving team because our guys are fast downfield to make that big hit and tackle. Kickoff coverage and forcing not-so-good field position has been a success on this year's team and that all begins with good kickoffs. Nice work, Chad Dallas.
+100
the average starting field position of our opponents is the 27 yard line. You are correct as Chad averages 50+ yards per kickoff with about a 3.5 second hangtime. If you want to see something fun, watch him cover on those kicks as well... he has several tackles and a fumble recovery.

One week at a time. WOS does a great job of taking one game at a time. Coach T will have this group of young men ready to go, and concentrated on Tarkington. I think WOS will control this game starting from Kickoff.
Go Stangs Go!
If not before the kickoff ...,

Liberty better just worry about HJ. Their last 2 games were relatively close for about half the game.
The WOS score will be whatever WOS chooses for it to be. Liberty doesn't even have to be close. 9-1 and maybe a playoff win or 2 is a very respectable season.
Exactly right... in two weeks when Liberty arrives at Dan Ray Hooks stadium, they better have all FOUR phases clicking at the highest level (and that still will not be good enough).

Snap and hold were fine. Protection let us down on that one. Slight penetration up the middle. Look for Chad to get more opportunities if needed.
