It takes a lot of hard work, blood sweat and tears for the amount of work you have put into this sport. And to be able to have the opportunity to play at the next level is tremendous. Rhame, Waddell, Erickson,  Laird and Bellow(will both be all district as pitchers so I guess you don't count them) at 1st [/quote] that's 3 shortstops, not 4.. and if Laird and Bellow are 1st team pitchers, that's 3 1st basemen. I was under the impression there were 4 spots, 2 on each team. But correct me if i'm wrong.

Last time I saw the baseball field, which was Friday night, there are nine positions in the field. That means, there are eight other players besides the pitcher. So if Hester is not pitching, and we have such a below average team, maybe we should just forfiet our games? I mean, what would be the chance in our boys winning a game with a below average team? Had it not been for our bats being flat, the out come of this game would have been very different. I have seen our team make errors on the field and still come back and take control of the ballgame. Last night, this did not happen. Kirby Bellow is an exceptional pitcher and was amazing on the mound. His slider works very well and there is not much more to say except that God has given him loads of talent. Congratulations Kirby on a job well done! And as for you and your poor choice of words eknights88, I am sure I will advise my son & his team mates to stay off of setxsports since there is no respect for the Vidor Pirates.  These guys do not need your negativity or sarcasm impressed into their brain. No, there were just awards for second place, first place & tournament MVP. Congratulations guys! You all worked hard & never gave up! All HEART!!! You represented our area very well. We as parents could not be more proud. It made the LONG ride home worth every moment. This is a great group of guys with great attitudes and terrific camaraderie. We had a blast watching. Again, we are all proud & CONGRATULATIONS!

What is the final? Does anyone know?

Vidor's first two pitchers were sophomores, Maxwell & Hagler. They pitched two innings each then Hester came in and pitched two innings. Defense looked good for both teams really. Pirates got an early jump on the Bobcats. Game was called right before the start of the 7 inning due to weather conditions.

It is a big loss for Vidor. But we still have a Williamson that IS healthy and I am sure he will pull his weight! Vidor will still be a competitive team! ;D
