JMO there is not a top 10 team in the district you can hype yourself up if it makes you feel better and believe it which a true fan should. As a spectator and not a fan I'm telling you what I believe. This was a team that got beat by madisonville and barely beat a liberty team. They are a decent team in a below average district.

An "average to below average district" doesn't have a single team make it to the regional semifinals. Woodville is a top-10 team and Coldspring is a top-20 team. Top-to-bottom, this district is only held back by 2 below average teams. It is still a good, competitive district.
Woodville is not a top 10 team in the state. This is a average to below average district. It may say they are but I can promise you they are not.

A very average to below average district. Even Woodville is not as good as last year IMO. Cold spring can't win with just 1 play maker on the offensive side of the ball. Buna is scrappy but not very talented on either side of the ball it's the system they are in. Kirbyville is unknown the defense is good the offense you never know which group will show up. Kountze is young and most of their players go both ways. Trinity has some athletic kids but can't get clicking and give up tons on defense. Warren is Warren not enough speed to contend with anyone in the district. The 4 teams that do make it all four will be out by the 3rd round of the playoffs. Dribble dribble will start early.

What does this mean?
It means what it means Deweyville has always been made up of Starks kids

...............and they have only won 3 playoffs games since this magical season..............THREE.........in 38 years. That equates to one playoff win every 16 years.
I'm just talking about 1979 team. The rest is irrelevant to me

Kountze has more than 20 players.... They have a JV team in addition to the 20 players on varsity.
I have seen both teams play. Kountze may or probably has more speed. I would guess Kirbyville has the superior linemen. Kountze has added three or four players. It will be interesting to see if they can upgrade the team.
Kountze has always had fast players

All I can say is I was there in 1979 state run by the Bobcats truly magical the way they beat way bigger and faster teams. Troup probably the best team they beat.
-
I'm taking a combined effort from the Deweyville/ Starks La Pirates to beat the HD Bobcats in a close game 27-20

It is possible to have that many kids and not have much talent.. Actually happens all over the state every year.
Kirbyville has 32 on varsity with about 27 healthy

Kirbyville has 50 kids and can't compete in 3AD1. Could be a close one.

QB Snell has a little over 1000 yards passing and 11 touchdown passes thru the first 3 games. He had a huge night against Warren and didn't play at all in the 4th quarter. RB Darius White was out injured Friday night and is expected to miss be out this week along with WR Chavira. The defense has looked solid so far. I don't anything about Kipp. I'll take Hardin.
I really don't think Hardin is that great of a team a lot of this stems from the competition your playing. We will find out once district starts.

Kountze just has too many players going both ways. I'm pulling for Kountze as always but I'm gonna pick Kirbyville. Prove me wrong lions
What's their total number on the Varsity squad?

I saw half the game. It appears to me that Kirbyville is beginning to figure out their new offense. During the scrimmages there was a mess of confusion when they attempted to run the ball. Now there appears to be some well defined running lanes. On the other hand Westwood was not very good.
They put in a new offense on Monday no more triple option. Defense played lights out and running the spread opens some lanes and ends any attempt with putting 9 or 10 in the box

I do agree they win the district hands down but as far as a deep playoff run it's not going to happen with any of the 4 teams coming out.
