Uncle Si he was a really good ball player. I have heard that he is making a name for himself in the coaching field.  Very fine young man and we are proud of him.  Warren is not a traditional football powerhouse nor have we ever claimed to be.  However, we do have talent and are far from being pathetic.

I think this team will surprise some folks. New head Coach Chris Babin has got the players buying into his system. The Warriors are really grasping the Slot-T offense. I think this offense fits this personnel very well. Offensive line is the key and based on the practice that I saw, they are taking to it very well. Line has good size and quickness. Backs are good, no real speedsters, but are hard nosed and are committed to executing the offense, which requires tons of blocking and carrying out fakes, play action. I believe by mid season this offense will be just fine.
 
Defense is solid. Good size but not fast. Front seven will carry this team. Back side not real fast and a little small. Warren's best defense will be their ball control offense. Eat up clock, keeping the opponents offense on the sideline. Warriors will have to defend the big play much better.
 
Very good numbers for the Warriors. Over 65 out, so depth will not be too big an issue. A few will go both ways, just like any other small school faces.
 
I think this team will go .500 this season. The bulk of this team and it's starters are juniors. Next season with a year under their belt with this new offense and a host of seniors leading the way, could be a break out year for Warren. But don't sleep on them this year.

Warren sure gets dragged in to this conversation a lot for a club that's just working and minding there own business :)

Heard a lot if nice things about Babin...Warren kids always work hard...that program will Be on the move!

Kids really like Babin, numbers are up and  enthusiasm is high.  Hopefully he can take what Coach Woodward started over the past two years and build off that.  Woodward definitely left it better than he found it...Over our next three classes we should be as competitive as we've been in the last 15 years or so....Not saying we win district but hopeful compete on a weekly basis...Our loyal fans would love to see that!  Good Luck to the Eagles in their new district....Ya'lls winning will continue wherever you guys are at!

Yes I know. Channel 6 news said the other day that we are the only softball team left in SETX. That's why I said that.

That's not what I meant. If the kid that has all the natural talent, the track kid. If when he's 10 years old starts to play baseball and that is what he primarily concentrates on he will be a good baseball player, provided he is coached well. And very few has the potential to be a pitcher. Or quarterback for that matter. But good coaching definitely helps. Not saying every kid can be great at every sport. But I don't believe that school A that has never been good at a sport is not because they don't have athletes available. The athletes available are not being coached for the sport they are not good at, or there is no emphasis on that sport. There is no way you can convince me that football athletes only grow in certain neighborhoods. Some years you have more athletes. available than other years. My last post on this. We must agree or not to disagree

All that I said was that I saw the Coach at Chester was mowing yesterday.  Didn't know that it was an opportunity to pile on a place for being less developed.  
 
Chester/Colmesneil/Woodville/Warren may not have the nicest restaurants or all of the amenities of a "big city" but we don't have corruption in our schools (BISD), we don't have teachers engaged in inappropriate acts with students (BH), we don't have teachers hitting students (PA), etc.

Yes I know. Trust me. I'm on the "non-playoff" side of that.

Much improved from last time we played K-ville Lady Warriors despite what the score shows? Put together some nice hits and some good defensive innings.

I am gonna be a homer and go opposite.  Warren 3 Woodville 1.  These games have been fun to watch over the years.  This year won't be any different.  I won't be able to attend though.  Gotta support my Lady Warriors playing home that night.

Sure are a lot of assumptions being made based on rumor and hear say....until it comes from the man's mouth himself I wouldn't put too much stock into anything posted on here...All I know is these are exciting and hopeful times for the Warren faithful...

Congrats Warren! You got a good one! And Warren is a much better opportunity than Deweyville at this point in time. The program might not be too successful, but that is one of the better school districts in SETX. Contrary to popular belief, the two biggest school districts in Tyler County(Woodville and Warren) are among the best in the area when it comes to quality of the district. So, he is coming to a much better, and if he succeeds, a much more stable opportunity in Warren.

Best wishes to Coach Babin at Warren! His commute should be shorter after all, he still has a house in Lumberton. Deweyville's loss is Warren's gain!
