Well 43 to 0 would not be a bad score, but remember it was 43 to 0 IN the 3 QR and you said they were getting ready to put the JV in >:( Like I said what were they waiting on ...50??
Okay really tired of hearing you.  How many times did EVADALE have people beat down by the third quarter and still not put in their jv. You are quick to bash others, when you should look at yourself and maybe stop and think.  8)

So win 6 games and your the state champions.
    For 4A division 1 atleast.
DII as well.

Only classification that doesn't have to win six games is 3A DI. They just need five wins. All others (5A DI & DII, 4A DII, 3A DII, 2A DI & II, 1A DI & II)
win your district and it takes 5 to win it all.  Don't win your district and it takes 6 to win it all.  Except in 6man.  And strange that 3a DI only has to win 4 to be a champ or 5 if they take the hard way.
This is how it is in all sports in classes 3A-1A except football. Football has the divisions, all the other sports do not.

It does not change for 5A and 4A, they send 4 playoff teams in every sport. Have to win 6 games to win state in 5A and 4A, 3A DII, 2A DI & II, 1A DI & II. Winning district does not change this.
Win your district get a bye, then only have to play 5 games to win a championship. (3A DII, 2A DI & II, 1A DI & II)
You are correct in 2A and 1A, not 3A DII. (example, WOS is district champion but will play first round game against Cleveland)

(my mistake on 2A and 1A as I keep forgetting they are in divisional districts)
Now we are on the same page (messed up that 3A DII one, and you fixed me on that)  8)

Um sorry but that's wrong, it has nothing to do with winning district the largest school out of the three that qualify for playoffs in each disrtict qualify for playoffs. So there are only 32 teams in D1 while there are 64 in D2. So it only takes 5 games instead of 6 to win state, but it dosent matter who wins district as long as they are in the top 3.
Okay let me clarify what i was trying to say; 3a - 5a depends on school size, but you must win 6 games to be a champ (except in 3A DI).  6Man you only have to win 5 games, 1a - 2a (either division) win your district you play 5 games to win state, 2nd or 3rd you play 6 games to win state

  7. Okay, here is the updated District 13 A II standings:

    Milano beat Snook  46 - 0
    Granger beat Burton  26 - 20
    Bartlett beat Holland  36 - 34

    Milano  4 - 0
    Granger  4 - 0
    Burton 2 - 2
    Bartlett  1 - 3
    Holland 1 - 3
    Snook  0 - 4

Milano travels to Granger (District title game), Burton plays Holland: Burton wins and they are in, a Holland win they go.  Bartlett is out of picture if there is a tie (point spread gets them).  Milano and Granger are in no matter what, just a matter of how they fall.

If the Cardinals can keep players on the field they have a real chance to keep the Sharks at home one more year. The Cards had a half time lead on Burkeville before the wheels came off due to injuries. So if they can keep their people off the sidelines they really do have a chance to win.

Last week when the Sharks traveled here to Evadale, I thought we were in for a good game. They have some good looking athletes and some leadership that has been in their program for many years. When the Shark defense forced a fumble on the Rebels in their first series I was really thinking it was going to be a tough game, but as the game wore on what really got me was how undisciplined the Sharks became.

Now I do understand that when the score gets out of hand that things can happen, but it seemed excessive and I was also bothered once late in the 3rd quarter when one of the Sharks ran for a first down and got up and made an NFL-like first down point. The ironic thing was the Rebels were up by 40 something. Not trying to bash anyone, but the old touchdown attage applies, "When you score act like you have been there before". I would say that applies to first downs too.

I think it is going to be a close game, but if the Sharks play as undisiplined as they did last week I fear that their playoff drought will continue.
Good points right there, and then you look at the common opponents that each team has played and it doesn't get any better.  Both teams got beat up by Colmesneil, SP took a whooping from WH (HI forfeited that game) and Deweyville (HI cancelled).    Legacy beat both of them pretty good as well.  SP's only bright spot was that it beat O'Connell (HI lost that one).  No telling how the game could go tonight.  One advantage SP has, is that the game is being played in SP.
What is the difference between forfeiting a game, and cancelling a game?  I am just curious. I found your use of these two words interesting, like perhaps you know the difference.
Well if you look at some of the post put on here, and also look at the schedules you would see where I got those two words from.  So if you have a complaint, ask the mediator who updates the schedules, MR ENGLISH TEACHER/POLICE!!!!  Oh good luck to both teams tonight  :)
It's quite simple, West Hardin claimed it as a forfeit, Deweyville merely held it as a cancellation.
He may still not understand that

  11. District 13 is looking like this right now:  Milano/Granger tied at 3 - 0, Burton is 2 - 1 and you can add Holland into the mix at 1 - 2.  Granger and Burton play tonight, while Milano has Snook (bottom dweller).  Holland is playing Bartlett (0 - 3).  Granger/Burton game will be huge tonight (Granger win and they will play for district title next week against Milano (if they win tonight), while a Burton win could put them into a second place tie).  Making next week even more interesting with the Milano/Granger matchup, while Burton will have to play Holland (who still might have an outside shot of making it in).  Doesnt look good for the second and third place teams out of District 14, with the fact that three of the top four teams in district 13 are currently ranked in state.
  12.
Assuming West Hardin wins against Colmesneil and ends up 2-2 in district and then this next set of events happen:

If Lovelady beats Daisetta & then Daisetta beats West Sabine, the would make a 3 way tie in district.  In that scenario, Head-to-Head wouldn't apply, so what is used to determine tie breakers?

Is it overall record, points scored, points against or what?
It would go down to points (+/-) that each team has scored against each other, and the district would have set limit on the point spread.
  13.
Just playing the what if game, what if HD beats West Sabine. Wouldn't that leave WH, HD, and West Sabine all 2-2?  What is the deciding factor for who goes?  Not the most likely scenario, just wondering.
then it would go to the head to head match ups and if that doesn't help then it comes down to the point system

Congrats WH on putting a butt whipping on my beloved Bobcats. WH out Coached and out played the H-D Bobcats tonight. On a sad note for me... we may be witnessing an end to respectable H-D Football, for the first time ever in school history H-D has no JV and we get killed by WH. The future looks scary. Also if you are a 1A football team... PLEASE play your top players both ways, don't have BIG  #73 Chris Taylor and BIG #66 Jimmy Barton only playing on defense! Furthermore is you have a gunslinger ex-Hardin QB on your team that can throw 50 yards on a B-LINE, PLEASE play him when your starting QB goes down. ( #9 Brandon Downs)
Now that is a little hard don't you think.  For someone who is a die hard Bobcat fan, sure sounds like you are putting them in the seller.  Maybe their not as good as you would like and people aren't playing where you think they should be, maybe you should get into the coaching business and do things the way you want!  But until then, let Coach Slack and his staff do what they feel is best for THEIR players and allow them to do their jobs.  >:(
  17.
Man, it's gettin' deep around here I'd say. I'm not getting into any of this other than to say a few things. HDBobcats55 is the most passionate HD Bobcat fan out there. He does come across in the wrong way to alot of people, but that's just who he is. It's hard to "play nice" when you are that passionate about something. I have seen Joharr and HD55 both give props to each others teams over the years, and have seen both of them come across somewhat bitter after a defeat. That's just the nature of the beast. I appreciate both of their comments and input on this forum and it makes for good reading material and interesting entertainment.

On another note, I do think that this rivalry is as heated, hated and intense as it's always been. I played against all the same guys that 55 mentioned from 7th-12th grade..... we beat them every year until our senior year, and it was crazy in Batson/Saratoga after that game. What I'm saying is that kids are gonna be friends and respect each other, most likely more than the fans and parents in the stands, but in this game, it's something different. It's bragging rights for a year between two communities only minutes apart. The same oil fields, the same vacuum trucks, the same drive to the deer lease or WalMart. This is important for two tiny communities that don't have a whole lot more going for them. I'm from HD and I will always be a Bobcat. My kindergarden teacher told our class on the first day of school that you are Bobcats.... and it's not alright to lose to West Hardin. That's just how it is. You can throw the records out every year, because it's new blood, new leadership, and new talent.... but it's the same old goal..... win it for your town.

HD does have a long and prideful history of tradition. Maybe they've been mediocre on the field for the last 15yrs or more, but that doesn't change the way the kids look at it. West Hardin comes into this game wanting to be that team that beats HD. The team that puts those loud mouth smack talkers in their place and shuts them up. HD comes into this game expecting to win. It's what we do against WH. It doesn't matter if WH is 8-1 and HD is 2-7..... the Bobcats expect to win, and it shows on Friday nights. It's a mental edge that HD has over WH. Just like Groveton and Alto had HD's number in the playoffs year after year, HD was behind before the opening kickoff because of the history and intimidation those teams had over us.

We will see tonight. I think WH may be the more talented team, but that doesn't mean anything come 7:30 at Bobcat Stadium. HD puts West Hardin out of the playoffs tonight in hard fought, intense, well played game. Good luck to both teams and I'll be the first to congratulate the Oilers if they pull out the win.

    Hull-Daisetta - 26
    West Hardin  - 18
Now that is one Bobcat fan, that I don't mind hearing from.  He keeps it real and doesn't make it out to be that the Bobcats are better than everyone else. He even put that in this post.  And again good luck to both teams tonight.  8)

I think it's funny how Joharr always wants to talk smack about H-D Bobcat 55, but when I have said great things about the WH football team and their Coaches, Joharr says nothing.  ??? On the WH Coaches comment, it is just my opinion and I hope that when Joharr commented on that subject it was his own personal opinion and he was not trying to speak for me. Furthermore, if you are a regular on here you would know, I always congratulate the teams we play even if we lose.
Really! No I mean Really!, i read what Joharr posted about coaches and basically anything else.  I think he was actually giving Coach Slack a compliment, but its hard to say anything good about you 55 when you do nothing but basically bash everyone and everybody.  I will give you props though, you do say some good things, just not enough to out weigh all of the negatives.
