I don't know if Jimbo is the man, but the Aggies have had a hard time since firing R.C. Slocum. AM is a school that should be happy to win 8 or 9 games most years and get lucky every four years with a 10 or 11win season.

At least in Texas, they force the private to play at the top level which nullifies the advantage of recruiting.
Nederland is land locked they're not recruiting. It's a nice place between Beaumont and Port Arthur that has a decent school. Nothing more nothing less.  

The split in 5A has made for some interesting matches. I think Mid County will be represented but Barbers Hill, Crosby and Santa Fe will be tough outs. Vidor will probably be out due to some convoluted tie breaker.

The state of schools in New Orleans is sad. I really feel bad for the children there. 
That said, I much prefer that public and private are separated. And recruiting here is much less prevanlent than in other states, including Louisiana.
What's more likely in Texas is that momma and daddy get upset and move their children to a different School district.
If Texas played by the rules across the Sabine, I have no doubt the setx would clean their clocks. 

Never said they didn't have talent. It's just that the name of this site is southeast Texas sports. Not Louisiana sports. 
While the private schools here offer scholarship, they are handcuffed compared to Louisiana.  That is a good thing. Go take a look at what's happening in Baltimore when recruiting has gone overboard.
 Louisiana has parish school districts. Here. Anyone can start a school district. So instead of PNG Nederland and memorial you would probably just have Port Arthur HS. That team probably is a state championship contender is Louisiana every year.
There are some things the UIL can do better, overall I prefer the way sports are administated here. The UIL is typically considered the leader when it comes to overseeing extracurricular activities.

I learned some interesting things.
Apparently Jefferson and Hardin Counties are in the greater houston area when it comes to recruiting while Polk and San Jacinto Counties are in the Golden Triangle.
And South Alabama is picked to finish 7th place in the Soulthland Conference. I think South Alabama would do a little better than that! If it were Lamar, I'd say that's being charitable.
Jokes aside its hard to get everything right in such a big magazine. I'm sure readers in other areas of the state caught similar things, but overall its a good glimpse of the state.

The so called tax cut ain't shite. When you fill out your 1040 next year you'll see he screwed the working man.  The only people who got a tax cut were the top 1 percent the same people who have recieved 99 percent of this country's economic growth since "saint" Reagan took office.

Yeah I believe the numbers. They were trending down well before he got in office.  They need to go lower. He's had little to nothing to do with it, per respected economists.
