  1. So, if we halt teacher pay, who builds that curriculum for the online learning? Are you going to do that? I'm assuming not since you don't have the time to make sure your kids are getting their work done without standing over the top of them. Also, don't assume most teachers aren't ok with going back to work. As we have learned in today's climate, just because a groups voices are louder than the rest doesn't mean they represent the majority. Trumps election in 2016 proved that to be the case.
  2. Oh no doubt. At the smaller schools, that would be nearly a 10% pay cut for people who are already earning below minimum wage for the hours they put in. I don't understand how the district can do that when these guys/ladies have a contract. Aren't those stipends written into their contract?
  3. This is quite the stretch. The kid would obviously have to be enrolled in the ISD to qualify. The better point is the one made about COVID concern in a classroom, but not on a football field. That should be enough to put an end to the argument.
  4. Only the stipends are being considered for non-payment, correct? I would assume, their teacher and administration salaries are safe because they still have to perform those duties?
  5. Whoa big fella. Barrier is a good one, but he ain't no witch doctor.
  6. For someone so looped in, it's hard for me to believe you didn't know he had already retired in the past and was working under the retire/rehire thing teachers do. Man, you keep showing your ignorance on this thing.
  7. From Lumberton.....where Larry Haynes lives? Interesting. I had assumed his sons had coaching jobs elsewhere by now. Hard times to be out of work bud.
  8. Hmmm, after reviewing all 6 pages of this thread, it seems hornetpride85 is signed in on his alternate account "SmashMouth". Did you have fun having two pages worth of arguments with yourself earlier? Idiot.
  9. Almost seems like he/his parents were afraid he would be swallowed up by the talent at Katy high and wouldn't be as visible. This is all assuming he is moving for athletic purposes and I do not claim to know the reason he is leaving WOS.
  10. Any news on who is taking over at HD?
  11. Anyone know the rational? If I was transferring to Katy, Taylor wouldn't be the program I would choose.
  12. Clearly hp85 isn’t as dialed in as he thinks?
  13. Plus, I’ve already stated it earlier. He’s a small town guy and has tons of family in the area. Just sit back and see what he can do. I truly think Hardin hit a home run here, just be patient and stop trying to burn him before he’s even arrived. Regardless of How attached you were to Haynes, Barrier didn’t run him out of town. Just be happy you got a high caliber replacement.
  14. I actually do know, and if your insinuating something nefarious happened, you are a certified lying piece of sh*t. You’re what’s wrong with that town. The man isn’t even through the door and you’re already trying to attack his character. Go back to the computer lab before somebody pulls your card.
  15. LOL!! A heck of a re tread who got run out of town for some reason. Let go of the past and don't do anything to screw the future up. Hardin stepped in sh*t and somehow ended up falling in the tulips, last thing you folks should do is make the new coaches transition harder by acting like Haynes had you lined up to make a run at state.
  16. He has family in the area and was a finalist for the Hardin job back in 2012. He also has a son who is in Junior High who is an absolute stud. Prior to CC he was at Brazos, Jasper, Cleveland, and Hull-Daisetta, so he is more of a smaller school kind of guy. Caney Creek is in a terribly tough district and that job was a no win situation for him. Hardin just got a hell of a coach and I am hoping the AD role will come with it eventually when the COVID stuff and everything else going on is navigated. I know Snell has had a chance to be the AD before and has never shown interest, so I can' t imagine he wants that responsibility now. Barrier is the real deal and I expect Hardin to improve under his leadership. Folks in Hardin should be very happy with this hire.
  17. I had no doubt that you guys were on top of it. I just thought it was an appropriate time to try and be funny! lol
  18. This whole thread and no mention of Dustin Long?
