LU is up 6-0 already. Good to see them in the playoffs.

Is there a Wal-Mart in Buna?
-
Just play the damn game in Orange. I'm being sarcastic, but we old school Jasper fans would play WOS in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
-
Jasper was very sloppy tonight. If that happens again, we'll be done next week. Hunt might be back next week and that would really help us. I like a couple of the backups a lot, but they're not the gamebreaker that he is. Should be a classic...
-
Both teams are playing well on defense. Next week is gonna be a slobber knocker and could go either way.
-
Previous season low was 31 against Lumberton. Bellville played their butts off.
-
Pretty sloppy game. Lots of penalties at the worst time for the Bulldogs. Hats off to the Brahmas. They did a great job defensively.
-
I don't always buy into the weak schedule discussion. I think Jasper is too solid on both sides of the ball to not show up against really good teams.
-
They would play each other.

West Orange Stark Mustangs vs Sweeny Bulldogs
Bulldogs92 replied to MustangNation#1's topic in High School Football
Either team would make me nervous. If Sweeny's defense is as good as they've shown, that will be a tough game for us. Any game against WOS makes me feel the same way. It's all about matchups on a given night. Any of these games can go sideways really quickly with penalties and turnovers. Best of luck to both teams this week. I hope Jasper can play well and get a shot at either of these teams... -
The winner of this game gets the winner of the WOS/Sweeny game. I objectively believe that Jasper is the favorite in Region 3 to at least make the state semifinals as it's the deepest Bulldog team in a very long time. I'll start this thread by taking Jasper by 21.

West Orange Stark Mustangs vs Sweeny Bulldogs

Might be a low scoring game. Sweeny's defense has been salty all season and WOS will have its hands full. This one's hard to predict. -
There have been lots of instances in our history that we've been good like this and lost games that we shouldn't have in the playoffs. This year seems rare to me and I've been following the Bulldogs since 1982. We've never won a state title and I think this team could be the one to do it, but you never know. In '82, we were 12-0 with 23 points allowed for the season and Thurman Thomas went nuts on us and we lost 34-7 to Willowridge. Anything can happen, but I hope the Bulldogs play their brand of football next week.

Looking forward to it.

Yeah, but I'm not sure how. We've had a ton of Limbricks come through the program. From the sounds of it, he's every bit as good as Hunt. He's a sophomore and Hunt is a junior.

Final: Jasper 49, HF 14
-
Jasper scores on another long TD run by Carl Limbrick. He's gotta be at around 175 for the night along with 3 TD runs.
-
HF scores again. 42-14 Jasper.
-
Jasper quickly scores on the first play from scrimmage. 42-7 Jasper.
-
HF scores on a TD pass late in the 3rd quarter. 35-7 Jasper.
-
Jasper leads 35-0 about halfway through the third quarter.
-
Still 28-0 at halftime. We need to send a message and keep them off the board tonight, but they've moved the ball well at times.
-
28-0 Jasper with 1:20 left in the first half.
-
They're saying that he won't play tonight and probably won't play next week, either. The running game is pretty strong without him.
-
Jasper leads 21-0 with 9:13 left in the first half. The Longhorns are doing a pretty good job of controlling the ball and shortening the game, but the Bulldogs are clamping down when they have to and getting big plays on offense.
