Who cares who Newton would or wouldn't beat in other classes. That's not their job. Their job is to issue beatings to other 3A teams. It's not their fault that 98 percent of their opponents are horrible.

One thing that would worry me is Lonview's running game. They're big up front and one of their backs (number 5) is a tank. Think they've got a little fast one also. Tompkin's running game pushed WB around and Longview's will be much better. Hope they've got a good defensive scheme planned for this.

Westfield had an elite defense. I'm sure that had something to do with the QB play that game.

Can't really figure Nederland out. They can beat West Brook but lose to Bridge City. Should be an interesting game.

Liberty Hill just beat Carthage running the ball.
Anyways, Silsbee will be back to make another run next year. I think they exceeded most people's expectations this year.

Well if anything Mcgrue should be well rested for this game. He's gonna need to be.
One thing that was almost immediately noticeable when watching Longview and Westfield were the size and physicality of these teams when compared to West Brook. Those boys were hitting each other like someone owed them money or slapped their mamas. It's gonna be like that when playing Westlake's defense this week.
If there's anything to be hopeful about, it's that Westlake comes from a weaker region than West Brook. I don't know if they've seen a QB like Elia or not. Hopefully the West Brook offense can light them up a few times.

Congrats to Silsbee
Hopefully the Riders can get another good team put back together, get y'all back on the schedule and the Riders would be a lot more competitive like last season.

I think youd be hard pressed to get Harrison to say much, regardless of the outcome. Congrats to silsbee. Good luck the rest of the season. I'll be expecting a 3 peat. Hopefully i can talk my wife (who is a silsbee grad) into coming to the state tourney with me this year.
Its just gonna be a long year for the Riders. Out of the 8 guys that played heavy minutes last yr, 6 graduated, and 1 transferred to shelbyville.
