  1. Good luck is all I have to say to that! Using THAT logic... after seeing how we did against Dayton in that scrimmage and comparing that to how Nederland has done against Dayton in the recent past I'd say we're doing just fine!! ;D 2008 SCRIMMAGE WO-S 14 Vidor 14 Non-District Game WO-S 33 Nederland 13 District Game Nederland 35 Vidor 23
  2. Wow! How quickly everyone forgets... Does no one remember how Vidor tied WO-S 14-14 last season in a scrimmage AT WO-S and subsequently ended the season 5-4 (3-4 in district) without making the playoffs while WO-S went 10-1? Click here --->LINK I echo the sentiment of the other moderators/administrators in regards to how there is no win or lose in scrimmages. Vidor has always played WO-S tough in regular season games and actually is tied with TJ for having the most wins all-time against WO-S (they both have won 7 times each). Both PN-G and Nederland have only won against us 6 times each, and Jasper and West Brook have won 5 times each. AGAIN... good luck to all local teams this season. I will be rooting for any and all teams that advance in the playoffs from the area!
  3. The Massey Ratings predict: WO-S 31 Nederland 21 Click here --->LINK
  4. OUCH! There's nothing more I'd like to see than for Jasper to prove me wrong and to knock them off. I will most definitely be rooting for you guys... I just gotta call it like I see it though... sorry. 1st season coach/1st game of the season/#1 ranked opponent
  5. Gilmer 56 Jasper 14 ...a little worse than last year
  6. Check the date on the paper... you must be looking at an issue from 1994
  7. WO-S was a 2nd half team all last season... we didn't have a single point scored against us in the 3rd quarter the entire season until our final game against Gilmer, and even in that game we outscored Gilmer 15-7 in the 2nd Half
  8. How many minutes in each quarter and is it a continuous clock?
  9. Dude, your avatar is accurate, which makes it real disturbing. Hey now! Let's not turn this into a political thread... I happen to be very happy with our current Secretary of State! She could take Condoleezza down in a millisecond
  10. Judging from looking at who's online a couple of dozen people are reading your updates! Definitely keep them coming
  11. Sounds like we have the same problem as always... Offense
  12. I'll take a 10-1 record in 1998 and the success WO-S has had since then over advancing to the 1998 Quarterfinals and losing and have it being the best season to date since 1977
  13. LOL... very funny AggiesAreWe. Interesting facts about that 1998 season... WO-S won more games that season than Silsbee going 10-1 (91% winning percentage) to their 9-5 (64% winning percentage) WO-S outscored Silsbee in head-to-head games that season 37-21 as we beat you guys 17-0 in a non-district game earlier that season. Again good luck! ;D
  14. I just noticed something.... Jasper has GOT to have one of the toughest schedules of any 3A team in the state this year as they are playing the following teams: 3ADownLow Rankings: #2 Gilmer #3 WO-S #6 Carthage #20 Silsbee Texashsfootball Rankings: #1 Gilmer #3 WO-S #4 Carthage 2A #4 Kirbyville #10 Silsbee #30 Rusk DCTF Rankings: #1 Gilmer #2 Carthage #3 WO-S 2A #4 Kirbyville
  15. WO-S has more than bounced back after their two prior losses to Silsbee (and last year SHOULD have been a 3rd loss). We were ranked #7 in '93 when we lost 14-20 and came back and won 22-7 in '94 with arguably a much less talented and unranked team. In '98 we were ranked #2 and lost 20-21 and came back and won 26-9 in '99 with what was definitely a much younger and unranked team. Even though we won in a squeaker in '08 it WAS our first real test after being forced to go without practice or play for a month due to Ike. This year (barring ANOTHER hurricane) we will have played Jasper and Kirbyville (unlike in '08) prior to facing Silsbee and should have almost twice the game experience as last year before facing the Tigers. The '09 team is just as good if not better than '08 and our coaching staff knows to take Silsbee very seriously. It's also been awhile since Silsbee's been touted as highly as they have been this year so Silsbee needs to be careful of letting all the praise go to their heads. It's much harder to win when you have a target on your backs which apparently you kind of do this year. Good luck!
  16. Well no matter what, one 21-3A team will have a definite shot to win Region III-3A and if either WO-S or Silsbee manages to knock off Gilmer both teams are looking to have very good chances to advance out of the region. If either makes it it would be a first for any 3A SE Texas team since WO-S in 2005
  17. LOL! I'm a DEFINITE NCAA Baseball fan as that is the ONLY sport in which Rice University (my alma mater) has excelled.... WO-S used to be pretty good back in the 1980's except we seemed to lose to powerhouse Brenham every year Maybe in the same way UT views Rice as a rival... except Silsbee has beaten WO-S one time more than Rice has beaten UT in the past 32 years. wos87, you know your a closet baseball fan, never met a football fan who likes stats like you.

  19. Excuse me?! It's West Orange-Stark's streak of 5 consecutive undisputed District Championships in question here... which Silsbee apparently has their "eye" on (according to the title of this thread).... How could we NOT be "in here"??
  20. If you didn't care you wouldn't have been here to begin with!
