Several that are close to the Eagles are hoping that his son gets the position. I think only two coaches are leaving with Neece ( a line coach and another young coach) The major lose being Neece. That means we would have to replace out offensive coordinator.
It has been an honor and privilege to have to have been associated with W.T.. He has made a better person of all of us who were around him.

Former newton qb still close to the program, has been saying that the job was the son's whenever coach decided to hang it up. They like what he has done in the past when filling in.

This kid is a star. His presence on the field alone makes a difference. Just throw the football his way and he will make the adjustment to the ball. When he was on the field the other recievers mysteriously played better. And of course his play as a receiver opened the game up substantially for the running game, which he was a part of as well. And on defense, it's in your best interest not to throw at him. And he saved many touchdowns with his closing speed. I'm not privy to the problems he was having, but I sure hope he overcomes and it, and it doesn't effect him on the next level. Good Luck to the young man

Those 4.7 40's in 1983 would not be able to hang with this Newton speed. Anybody who thinks 1983 athletes can run with 2018 athletes just dont understand the evolution of man-kind.

Eagles97 got a reaction from Amphibious Rodent in Highway 190 Three-Headed Monster (Woodville/Jasper/Newton)
Like a sack of potatoes. They rely on a stable of backs with a lot of miss direction plays. They don’t fare well against a good disciplined defense.

Where is the line drawn for 4a d2 "down year" teams vs a team that is 2 divisions lower,......does that mean the years that the smaller school loses vs 4a -d2 teams is in "down years"

Eagles97 reacted to OleMoe in Newton vs Offweek.. Who you like ?
This team is special and I hope all Newton fans soak it up because its probably a once in a lifetime occurrence of having so much talent on a Newton team. We have witnessed good teams over the years but none with this many talented athletes. In the past we would enter games knowing we were good but not sure if we would leave with a victory. We had tough battles and usually won most of them. Won 4 State Championships and had the opportunity for more. This team is different. This team is Special. They take away almost all the doubt of not winning. This Newton team is set on kill. They are programmed to win and leave no room for doubt. Last years team was almost the same but we as fans didn't realize our potential or what was in our corner. Our coaching staff is great. They have developed and placed talent in proper place. They have created a football machine that is pound for pound the best in the nation and State of Texas in their 3A division . One that can step from their divisions and conquer many upper divisions. Be Proud to be a part of this Purple Machine and enjoy every moment because it is Special.

WOS probably had the sprinklers on all week. They could have got this game moved but don’t want to play on a dry field or turf.

Cooper is a great player and a very good running back. He simply isn't on the level that Barlow is on. If he were, he would at least have some offers coming in and I truly hope that he does soon. I am definitely rooting for the kid. But, Barlow is a true college type running back; from his unbelievable size already, his speed, vision and his overall play at the RB position. That is why he holds offers from SEC, Big12, ACC, Big10 and Pac12 schools. Sometimes guys are just better than others and there is nothing to be ashamed of there. I'm sure WOS has plenty of guys in certain positions that are better than Newton's. It's just not the RB position this year and everyone know's that if they're being real. You know football, so put the pride aside. It's not a big deal. Both guys are dang good players.
