All I can say is that Memorial CAN PASS the ball.  Depends on who's passing it tho.

I agree that both of them have not seen meaningful snaps but the difference to me is Ladia is a true quarterback and Keitha is an athlete. I think they are intricacies at the position. Being a more natural qb, I think he would have a better shot as success especially passing. It's just one game though. From what I hear he is already a better passer. That's what y'all need. Y'all have like 4 Rbs right. Moving Keitha out wide instantly upgrades that position

You think Ladia should take over? I do especially if Keitha is used like a rb and is a so so passer

I did a little research.  GCM was 4-6 in both yrs in district from 2014 to 2015.  They had around 1,975 student enrollment, that's 6 to 700 more kids than most school they played.  Those are FACTS.  They just weren't threats, so nobody cared.  PAM is a THREAT, so we downplay wins and COMPLAIN about enrollment number when it wasn't important when we faced an equal sized school in GCM.  Is that real enough bro?

Man, stop it!!  PAM played schools that had 1,500 to 2,000 more kids than we did.  I don't remember many complaints from us.  It's literally one of the first complains I saw in a post before PAM even played their first game in 5A.  I'm pretty sure WOS has less kids enrolled than Ned, but they still took em to the wood shed and put the paddle to em.  And just by chance and a miracle if Ned won, I'm pretty sure no one from WOS would come with that Sorry excuse.  What were GCMemorial's enrollment numbers???  Since they did swap out with PAM.  Where was that Sorry excuse then?  Let's Keep It Real....and Honest....

Ndamakong Suh is a beast on the field.  Everyone says he's a really nice guy off the field, but he turns on that switch in the game and everyone doesn't like it.  He doesn't care.  A lot of people don't care, because they do what they have to do to give themselves that edge.  Regardless of how KV gets himself pumped for the game, trash talking or not, he's a very respectful kid, great parents, and an honor roll student.  At the end of the day, this is football and being nice on the field in the heat of battle will get you HURT.  I didn't like everything I saw Friday night, but this is FOOTBALL, not a debate team.  The strongest, toughest teams usually win the game.  I've sat on the visitors side of PAM games many times, and the amount of trash talk KV hears is crazy.  From coaches to players to fans alike.

Well rounded student athlete?  I understand where you're coming from, but PA has many well rounded student athletes.  Many well rounded students in general.  Some kids in PA don't have the support at home to flourish like some others have.  So don't get it twisted.  Parents send their kids to other schools because they want to.  Come to a Memorial graduation, and look at our brightest students.  They will be on par with other schools in other districts.  I have little cousins that attend PAM, and because they have the support at home, thrive in the classroom and are extremely good students and student athletes.

LaMarque did the same thing years ago to PNG and PNG won, so nobody said anything. Jack Yates did it back in the 90's, there's alot of successful team that show out. I don't have a problem with it. Actually,  the opposing team should get pumped up from it and try to take someone's  head off ( not literally). If people don't like it, beat them. Period

Comments like some of you make shows us that you don't know any of these kids at all, but are quick to judge them by the way they play football.  Football, a sport where the most physical kids succeed; the most ferocious kids succeed; the ones that give too much respect get beat or sit the bench.

Would these conversations even have came up had PN-G had blown PAM out?  I doubt it...  Like I said from an earlier post, sour grapes... Get over it and focus on your opponent this week...

You are spot on. Even better, have them run hitches. You could tell the receivers for PAM were far more aggressive than the cover guys for PNG, so just spread them wide near the sidelines, hit a hitch, have them break the open field tackle, and get up field.

If they're playing 5-10 yards off, isn't that a perfect opportunity to run some quick slant or cross routes?  Especially if the other team is blitzing.  Quick slants would have kept them honest.  Get Angelle or Jones the ball with quick slants and I promise you they'll break for more yards than than they could average running screens.

So just to weigh in on this topic.. Half to 3/4 of these threads are funny... If you have never suited up and played on a Friday night, its showing..... For 1, I could have cared less what K.H. and PAM did during warmup or during the game... Its a thing called SWAG.... If you don,t have any, try and get some...... Prime example, is WOS... If you have ever suited up against them, trash talk starts at the first whistle and does not stop until the final buzzer.. Its part of football... Myself, if I would have had a issue with a player, the easiest way to shut him up is on the field.... Reminds me of the old Bonzai days at PNG... Nobody liked it or appreciated it but the fans of PNG..... If you let it in your head, well, you are at a disadvantage.... I call it the Connor McGregor theme........ Once he is in your head, well, you lose....... Bottom line is this.... Its been almost a week since this game was played, and all of you are fighting about ignorant ideas.... Be done... PAM won, PAM was better........... No excuses on this end............. SO once again, to all the rah rahs, and the internet warriors.............. Let it be........... Peace..............

I agree with every point made, but does anyone think you make a deep run in the playoffs being one dimensional on offense.  I'm looking at the long term effects of not having a consistent balanced offense.  Sooner or later, someone is bound to go down, but a balanced offense would keep you in the game against an opponent the likes of Manvel/Cedar Park, etc.  Even when they repeat a lot of the same passing plays.  I agree that was the best solution for what was transpiring in the game, but you can't tell me you don't have more plays to open up the passing game.  To me, some kind of consistent passing game opens up the run game even more.
I'm not the coach and I don't claim to be one, but you should have more plays geared to get the ball in the hands of your college level receivers.  You can't rely just on Hines in the playoffs.  DC's are going to game play to stop him, and when that happens, where do you go if you haven't been preparing for it.
I'm not a cynical person, my friend turned me on to this site cuz he knows I love talking football.  Just passing the time while at work, stirring up conversation.  We talk about SETX football daily.

i don't like the passes to the side line, BUT when you have a secondary playing 10 yards off you, like everyone said, you take what they give you. now that Hines is on everyone's radar, you will get 6-8 in the box and hopefully Bambi can get out to the Jones, Thomas, and Angelle with single coverage. we did see new plays and wrinkles against PNG. it's just that PNG said you not going to throw deep on us and they took it away. against Lumberton, that game should have been used for passing, BUT looking ahead to PNG and/or taking lumberton too lightly had them stunned for a sec.

He can and has.  I do like where he's playing though.  He flat out dominated the Nederland game.  Vincent had 2 pick 6s which really stood out in the box score but Valsin dominated the line of scrimmage and had to be double digits in tackles.  He also has a sack which forced a fumble.  To me, he's one of the more underrated players in the area just because you don't hear a lot about him.  Has one of those grown man bodies with ridiculous strength.  And also has nice speed and quickness.

I saw him practicing with my friend's son's semi pro team.  Running routes and whatnot.  All I can say is the players didn't believe he was in middle school.  I believe I saw some footage on facebook.  Not sure.

You can work on the short (10-12 yard) passing game repeatedly in practice.  Timing, routes, execution.  Get that down & you will have that weapon in game play.  Let the run work, if it doesn't, throw the short, quick passes to back the defense up & then run some more.  In the playoffs, speed will cover speed after the first 2 rounds. That run game & short passing game will eat the clock & win games. Long passes are not going to be there in the later playoff rounds due to quarterback protection times & defense speed.  Use the weapons you have to your advantage.

I agree with you 503Raised to an extent....I realize the run was working (more in the 2nd half then 1st) but if you don't ever spend the time in the game working on those mechanics, then what happens when you get to the playoffs and need to throw the ball downfield. I would have thought this would have been the perfect time to work on this with the PNG secondary being their question mark and undersized corners.
