I don't think it will. There are some people involved with this who really want to do what is best for PNG, we need to give them a chance. Taking Matt out of the job was not an easy thing for them to do.Trust me, they didn't do it to get back in the same situation. I believe you are right and I agree. We need to let the process work. There sure a lot of people that are not from PNG worrying about "how stupid" the masters requirement is. Ya'll really don't have a dog in this fight ( no pun intended towards the Nederland folks ).If it is stupid and we are making a mistake then that should be better for you. You won't have to worry about PNG. I do think that they do want to get the best man. As for now I am trusting the process put in place. I believe we will be just fine.

Come on now get real, West Brook was the weakest Beaumont team before he went there. Now they are the strongest Beaumont team and it ain't even close.They have dominated the Beaumont Bowl games. He is a very good coach. I would have loved to see him apply for the job. Any PNG fan who didn't would be crazy. He did not apply because of the fact that the money was too near what he was making now. I can guarantee what he is doing at West Brook has just begun, he has good program going there.

MB was on the ropes in 2001,and 2002, then had good seasons in 2003 and 2004. Some forgot about 2000 - 2003 but most knew he had a load of talent that saved him. History repeated itself in 2007. Again some jump back and forth on the bandwagon but the majority knew better.

I'm hearing its more than that, I believe the exact word I was told was " it will be comparable to what Neumann is making". I thought he made in the 90's. I heard today that they have already talked to some. Anyone have any ideas on anyone from Oklahoma. They did talk to someone from Oklahoma(all I know about him). I do know of another coach who talked to them and I won't give a name( at that persons wishes). But when you ask why some might consider leaving a program they established, you have to remember that there are good football programs in lower ranking school districts.This is a factor if you have children.

BTW, Stump has his Masters degree. NC It isn't a law, but you could not justify paying HC's salaries these days without classifying them as an administrator. The position at PNG is paying more than Burnett was making. Burnett did not have a masters degree, this is why he shared the position with Barbara Comeaux. I think a lot of schools require a masters to justify paying a coach the salaries they now make.

Why? Speculation and debate is the fun of the forums. It is not like PNGISD is going to care what a member of setxsports.com thinks. Personally I think Mack Brown is going to be offered the job after stating that he is tired of the high pressures of big time college football and is looking for a place to retire. I agree about the fun on the boards, but after talking to someone who is interested in the job I changed my feelings and feel it should be confidential. This person is not worried about someone from PNGISD reading these post. He just has built a darn good thing where he is at and doesn't want to stir up anything with his current players or school.
