We'll do...There are a few demolition pictures on pngindians.com, but when they move a little further along, I'll make sure to post some here......
-
Well, we're finally underway. Demolition of The Reservation as we used to know it began yesterday. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we get enough good weather to get this project finished on time. The late start won't make things any easier !

I played baseball at PN-G from 1985-1988 and Coach Young was one of my favorites. He genuinely cared about ALL young ballplayers from Southeast Texas. I always enjoyed playing BC when he was there. My dad umpired for many years and Coach Young was always one of his favorites also. This would be a very deserving honor.

You're right, pimpsmack... Let's take a look at the first three offensive and first three defensive teams ....
Dayton - District Co-Champs - (State Semifinalists) - 5 players
Lumberton - District Co-Champs - 7 players
Nederland - No Playoffs - 4 players
PN-G - District Co-Champs - 2 Players
I'm just pointing out some issues.

There is a special meeting January 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the West Groves Ed. Building. The second item on the agenda is to approve the contract for the stadium. If you are concerned, you should attend and find out what has been cut from the original plans and what the status of the project is at this time.

"Lost Credibility" was a poor choice of words and I apologize for that. A quick look at all of the all-district teams in the area has these two young men well represented. I guess it's a shame that because someone receives a scholarship to play D-1 football, sometimes "name recognition" lands them on these teams in place of players that had more deserving seasons THIS YEAR. Not meant to be a jab at Coop either !!!

Hey Coop,
There are many talented football players in Southeast Texas. We all know this. But I'm sorry to say that the SETXSPORTS.COM team raises questions when neither Zeke Schexneider or Clint Burnett's names showed up on any of the defenses. These guys were overlooked BIG TIME !!!

Here are the results from junior madness:
FLAG: PN-G 18 Nederland 7
PEE WEE: PN-G 27 Nederland 0
JUNIOR : Nederland (63 or 56) PN-G 0
SENIOR: PN-G 7 Nederland 6

You must feel great knowing your team is the greatest. Our guys might as well stay home because big bad Dayton is just too scary. heck, I am scared to even cross the Trinity River now. I might be demoralized on my way to Pappacitos. You guys are the reigning district champs and until we beat ya'll I would say the better team. Good for ya'll. Maybe someone will bring you a cookie with the #1 on it.
One thing....You can bet your a$$ that PN-G won't lay down ! You can also count on facing the best team that you have seen since WO-S. A VERY physical team. That being said, I don't know if we can take Dayton at home. I do know that it won't be a walk in the park for the Broncs !!! May both teams escape injury free and Good Luck...

This is not the same team that the Raiders squeaked past in week 1 of distrist play. The new QB is playing lights out (QB rating 128) and the defense has only allowed 3 TD's in district play and 4 shut outs.
Tatum will not play to near perfection like he played against Lumberton. He's going to get hit hard and often.
Dayton by 21 or more.
I hope PNG stays healthy for the playoffs. If it gets out-of-hand early i would rest my studs for Galena Park.
Tatum was SUPPOSED to " get hit hard and often " against your beloved Raiders also. Bottom line is that nobody really knows how the teams will match up until they hook up on Friday. I like our O-line to protect. I truly believe that Lumberton's front seven is comparible to Dayton's. Nobody is really talking about our front four. Burnett, Mcdonald, Davis, and SHEXNEIDER have been dominant. Dayton's offensive line will have to work !!!

Well, I know it is a different Dayton team than played Lumberton...they have made adjustments. If you go by stats (which I know don't always mean anything...but people are throwing them out) Dayton had 277 total yards against Lumberton, but have a different quarterback now...Lumberton had 255 total yards against the defense they played that night. Don't know what adjustments they have made to their defense. Dayton had 104 rushing to Lumberton's 160. Also mistakes by both teams that game. PNG had 367 total yards against Lumberton and Lumberton had 336. PNG had 182 rushing to Lumberton's 106. Lumberton beat Dayton by 1 point and PNG beat Lumberton by 7 points. IMO either game could've gone either way. It's hard to compare the two games because Dayton has made changes. So I don't think someone from Lumberton saying Dayton will beat PNG even though Lumberton beat Dayton and PNG beat Lumberton is out of the question. Too many things have changed since week 1. I'm not making any predictions but if Dayton wins, I don't think it will be a blowout like the NED game.
I do understand that this is a different team than the one that played Lumberton. I am hoping that we can handle Dayton's offense. It looks like we will have to execute flawlessly on offense. I truly hope that these teams can get through this game with no serious injuries. We have some work to do to represent the district well in the weeks to come. I will be shocked if it's not a smashmouth low scoring game !!!

I love the Lumberton poster that predicted Dayton to win 48-13 even though Lumberton defeated Dayton and PN-G defeated Lumberton. As for Mr. East's comments, it would be easy to label the Broncos the "New England Patriots of high school football" after Friday night. BUT, the Nederland fans at the game will tell you that the Bulldogs flat out laid down and QUIT !! If that is the only time you've seen Dayton this year, then they look like possible "state champs". Remember back one week when Dayton beat Central 20-0. The same Central team that PN-G trounced 42-21. Trust Me, I know that PN-G has their HANDS FULL on Friday, but the people predicting a Dayton blowout should try to put things in perspective. As far as a prediction, I'm only willing to predict a LOW scoring defensive battle that could go either way. Hopefully PN-G 14 Dayton 13. ;D
-
This is interesting...If Lumberton can come here and win, then RESPECT is theirs. BUT I can tell you this, no one at PN-G is intimidated by Lumberton. Why would they be ? Central was the only team above .500 when they played them.
Just killing some time and thought I would look at the records of the opponents each team has played so far.
Lumberton Opponents: 8-28
Central (3-3)
Vidor (1-5)
Dayton (3-3)
Cleveland (0-6)
New Caney (1-5)
Bridge City (0-6)
PNG Opponents: 23-14
LaMarque (7-0)
Crosby (5-1)
Silsbee (3-3)
Ozen (2-4)
LCM (1-5)
Nederland (5-1)

Do you know what the difference is between Lumberton fans and most others ? Most other fans would hesitate to fill message boards with "smack" when historically, there football program has achieved ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in their entire history ! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the Raiders aren't a great team THIS year. We've heard the smack and the victory predictions for the last few years. You would think that these people would be HESITANT and wait until after a victory (which has NEVER happened against PN-G) to make bold statements and predictions. The Lumberton fans are very BOLD considering they have never been a FACTOR before !!!
-
Lumberton doesn't need to put forth the time and effort to play OP...They already play the mighty BOJO right here close to home !!! ;D ;D ;D
-
Dustin Long and PN-G slapping LaMarque around in the Astrodome in '99. I believe the final was 22-6.
-
We look pretty undisciplined at times THIS year also. Leadership is questionable. I think we have our hands full, so I wouldn't talk too much....
-
Did I read in that article that the BOJO Bears resemble Odessa Permian ??? Holy Cow, you've got to be kidding me !!!!
-
Silsbee's O-Line had it handed to them pretty good against PN-G. I'm not sure how many sacks they gave up, but it seemed to be quite a few. Not bashing, but I just don't believe that Silsbee is the best 3A area O-Line.
-
How about a new area high school with this staff....
Larry Neumann - Head Coach
Dan Hooks - Def. Coordinator
Craig Stump - Off. Coordinator
Curtis Barbay - O-line
Matt Burnett - D-line
Ronnie Thompson - Quarterbacks & Receivers
Cornell Thompson - LB's and D-backs
Danny Malone - Special Teams
:o :o

Anyone remember the Aldine Macarthur "fire ant" defense in the late 80's ? They have to rank among the fastest, nastiest, and biggest !!
