  1. 8-6 Jasper, HJ rally fell a little short.
  2. You are exactly right, the same way they monitor the hours of football practice and contact....
  3. How in the world would they be able to accurately monitor this to make sure every coach in the state is following whatever rule they might make?
  4. Some of them must be able to shoot, they made 20 3's on Friday night.
  5. I agree about the refs. Those three guys are about as good of a crew as you will get.
  6. 2007 Tarkington beat Cleveland at Tarkington and had a lead late at Cleveland. 2012 Nick Willis hit a buzzer beater to win at Cleveland.
  7. No confusion, big wins like that kind of stick in your mind.
  8. This is the third time in about the last 10 years that Tarkington has beaten Cleveland. Heck of a game last night, Horns had a 17 point lead with about a minute left in the third. Credit the Indians for battling back and taking a one-point lead, late in the fourth quarter. Should be an interesting finish to the district.
  9. Health is steadily improving. I think he has a lot of gas left in the tank before fishing and golf.
  10. No idea who they will hire, but if it is Snelson, he is no stranger to building up programs. An uphill battle yes (no pun intended), but given time, not unthinkable.
  11. Dylan Faircloth      Sr           Tarkington                         2   Brett McLawchlin    Jr            Tarkington                        1
  12. A little surprised that Huffman is not in the mix.
  13. Read that the Kolek brothers of Shepherd went to the Rangers area code team tryouts yesterday. Tyler reportedly hit 102 on the gun and Stephen hit 94. Whether those readings are completely accurate or not, Shepherd will have to guys bringing it next year.
  14. SFA's Hunter Dozier (ss) went 8th overall. From what I've read, SFA was basically the only school that even recruited him out of HS. Strange how things work out some times.
  15. Food for thought, DeJesus pitched against Hudson in the single game set in the regional quarters a few weeks ago, not Castillo. Diboll is tough with him on the mound (game 2). If it goes to a third game, it will probably be Johnny Wholestaff for both teams.
  16. A bit of a drive for both towns, but what a great opportunity for these kids to get to play on two awesome fields.
  17. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I will tell you that a lot of the coaches from the district were surprised that the H-F assistant baseball coach didn't get a shot at the head job.
  18. Congrats to Diboll on advancing and best of luck the rest of the way. Fun series to watch. Congrats to Huffman as well, Coach DeBerry got a lot out of his team this year. Carver and Woodland were solid all year and the Falcons seemed to improve every week.
  19. That's what I was thinking. Trotter has done a fine job and is reaping the benefits. New Caney wasn't expecting the size of crowd that both sides brought. They sold out of water and gatorade and were running to the stores to get more. Great support for both squads, two proud towns.
  20. Wow, tough way to go out, but sounds like three really good games. Great job by Coach Wilroy and the boys.
