Yeah OF did beat us. 17-14 and deserved to win, but its funny KV STRUGGLED to win at home against the Bobcats 49-42??? So I guess you guys dominated and that makes you guys a powerhouse huh??? Silsbee 28-29 us versus Silsbee us 35-14?? You should just feel lucky KV played Jasper real early on the schedule!!!!

that Jasper would have beat them, had they not faced them so early.

I hope this was a joke,They have not made the playoffs in 4 years.They can't make the playoffs this year even if they win.Skip round ball and go  to Baseball.

HF has a playoff caliber team, when they play for 4 qtrs. That is what I meant by playoff form. I would

argue that they would make the playoffs in just about any other distrcit in the state. They just so happen to

play in what is arguably one the toughest districts in the state and yes they can still make playoff, all be it with some help from Silsbee.

The Upstart HF Longhorns edge KV 35 to 34, Tigers maul the Dawgs 38 to 20 to set the stage for

a "coin toss" to break the 3-way tie. A Neutral site to be determined by school officials.

If a team rested a starter, it probably wasn't for the sake of "rest," but to avoid a catastrophic injury suffered during a meaningless game.

So WOS "rests" their starters tommorrow night?     ;D ;D

I hope Kirbyville does too then maybe my Horns can pull off an upset.

Good article but people keep throwing around 17 points. The district point maximum is 16 points. Not that it matters but...... If your going to print a story you should at least check you facts in order to give credibility to your story. Good luck Silsbee win by 16 points if your going to win at all becuase the HORNS will beat Kirbyville so a win will not get the Dawgs in. It is a small thread but we still hold on to it here in HF. Kirbyville will be looking at the playoffs and that will be a mistake.

Well lets hope the Lord is listening to our prayers and grants us a playoff berth.

I heard two of their best players, QB and LB/FB, will be back after getting injured against Orangefield.  They are really good players, so is Daigle and the other RB.  Their linemen are big and strong from what I've been told.  Solid on special teams.  KVille better be ready.  What number is the kid who returns the kickoffs for TDs?  He's a weapon too! 

#88, Chris Smith and yeah you better be wary of him. He is not big but is fast, has at least 2 k/o's returned for t/d's.

This game will get ugly fast. The young men on BC's defense seem to have pretty much given up.

Offensively they have a pretty decent scheme, I will be surprised if WOS shuts them out. I say:

People are forgetting that H-F is a very young team also.  Nearly all the skilled players are returning next year.  Bridge City could be in for a long year again if the district remains the same.

You are right on, HF returns 3/4's of their team next year with a very good JV Team moving up with

them. Remember they have not had an offseason w/ Mangan. I think that combination will reap big dvidends next year.

I can't speak for other schools but Chris Smith for my HF Horns has taken at least two "to the house"

this year. I am not sure of his average but is has to be way up there.

Okay my Horns really need to make the playoffs. I plead to the coaches and powers that be from both \

schools do everything in you power to see that the score ends up like this:

Tigers - 38

Dawgs - 20

Oh yeah see what you can about assuring an HF victory over Kville and getting us a "double sided" coin.

I think KV will be a little over confident and HF returns to playoff form and wins a shoot out.

Wishful thinking I know, but HF has the ability to make this happen.

So can H-F still get in the playoffs with a win this friday and a Jasper Loss?

IF HF can beat KV and Silbee can beat Jasper by 18, then I believe we still have a shot.

That would put HF, Silsbee and Jasper in a 3 way tie for 3rd place. What I am not sure of is how the

tie-breaker determnied. If someone out there can enlighten us please do so.

Way to go Horns. Hopefully this win will carry over to

the Varsity game.

we need to quit using injuries as an excuse...the FACT is we didn't have those injuries against Jasper or at the beginning of the OF game and we still lost. the other FACT is that the horns haven't played the way they did against Silsbee...we haven't seen that same team since the Silsbee game. so our QB is out, we have one who can more than handle the job and in some peoples opinion, our back up QB is better than the one who has been starting all year. the LB who is hurt, yes he is an asset but he is not the WHOLE team. we will be fine and our advantage is everyone thinks that we are not, they think we are weak due to our injuries...so let them that think that, it gives us the upper hand. GO HORNS!!!

I agree with you the backup QB came in and did a good job. I know the QB & LB are not the whole team, however there are several key players who are playing injured and come the 4th quarter it shows. Injuries are not an excuse they are fact of the game and they do affect how a team performs.

HF will be fired up for this game, we have not beaten BC since they moved to 3A.

This year is our Golden opportunity. HF gets the "W".

Sounds like BC is fired up and ready for the game. I hope HF has been practising to stop

trick plays, as this is what spoiler teams generally try pull.

You got that right! But what you are is winless all time against Silsbee.

I have to admit you are good, even though you predicted for my Horns to lose two weeks in

a row. I am glad to have you on our side this week.

Way to be supportive there.....Our team is used to that kind of support. 

I am very supportive of our team, I go to every game and root our team on. I am

stating the facts. If we could not stop Jeremy Granger and Jerrod Helton, then KV will give

us fits. Again it is because we have an injury plagued team right now. If we could have faced KV

at the beginning of district then we would have probably hung with them.

I hope this does not cause division among the players, that will tear apart a team.

If Jasper beats H-J and Silsbee they finish 5-2 and are in going div I

WO-S finishes 7-0 and is in as the winner

Kirbyville loses to H-F and Silsbee they finish 4-3

H-F beats BC and Kville finish 4-3

Silsbee beats Kville and loses to Jasper they finish 4-3

Now it goes to points: H-F is +17 to Silsbee (17 is the max)

                               Silsbee is -17 to H-F

Now the best Silsbee can do is get back to 0 by beating Kville by 17 or more.

And since Kville lost to both then they are negative

In this scenario H-F will go to the play offs as the runner up.

I think you are  "SPOT ON". I hate to be negative, I just do not see my Horns getting by KV

without our starting QB and LB. We have injury riddled team right now. I wish them well and God speed

on their recoveries. Good Luck Horns and play hard.

Dog fans, please get a reality check.  HJ may be having difficulties, but they will be HIGHLY motivated to spring a huge upset.  Jasper in a game much closer than folks seem to think.

Sorry but I disagree, HJ is not very good this year. HF put 35 on them and could have put more.
