They really ran the ball on 3rd and 25? Monte Barrow calling the shots now?

Huntsville QB break a leg or something?? Shouldn't he be back in action by now?
-
Bro what? Did he fumble the kneel?

Speed for speed Huntsville can match them. They run a lot for now, if they had their regular QB it would be a match for sure. But this current QB can run, juke and throw dimes so SOC best not sleep.

Why yall giving into the trolls....you know it's sarcasm.

Much improved team. Had a chance for the DC and had every chance to avoid pulling Tom Brady and his D1 receivers but it happened. From what I understand the JV and freshman had a solid year. Let's get that 2012 team back (who I think would have made it to state in the new alignment instead of pulling the next years 6A team) anyway, a complete turnaround for the dogs. Thomas will be missed, he never had a chance to really show off and he made a heck of a noise in 8-5A

Not the game I expected as a Tiger fan. There was great respect for District 8 and its top 5 teams coming from Texas High. Not surprised we have a lead, but how the Tiger defense has contained the Bulldog running game.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, a neutral coach witnessing Texas High for the first time stated “Texas High has athletes all over the field”.
We will see if Nederland can throw the ball. The clock is not their friend running the ball. Thomas is a talented back.
We might go 3-1 from 8-5A, that's about it. This THS team is no joke. Thomas hasn't been able to bust one out yet and probably won't. Looks like it'll be a PNG/THS matchup round three.

If I was THS I'd be throwing 50 yard bombs all night. Scored on every drive so far
-
Hey coach Rich, those THS receivers are wide a** open everytime
-
Gonna be at the lease watching this one. Lets go Dogs! Give Thomas a few lanes and let him cook

I watched the Huntsville game and was impressed with the Nederland running back. I saw a nominal passing game, which was effective as a “surprise” element against a secondary focused on the run. IF Texas High gets a couple touchdown lead going in the 4th quarter, I question the ability of Nederland to come back against the Tiger secondary. If Nederland can keep it close, then who knows.
Huntsville was also a run first team and had success against the Bulldog defense. How the Bulldogs deal with the Tiger wide open offense will be a test. Texas High averages over 500 yds per game which are evenly distributed between the run and pass. Tigers have three good running backs and don’t have one “go to” receiver.
Key for the Tigers is to limit the number of explosive plays by #1 and stop several drives each half.
No matter what, I suspect this will be a good first round challenge for both teams. It is understood that Nederland is not a normal 4 seed.Huntsville is likely one of the fastest teams in the state. That isn't no normal "run first" team. They can fly

Possible Huntsville vs SOC, Huntsville can win that one. That speed is hard to stop, they gonna surprise people. Best team we face imo. They got speed on every side.

That Arkansas team would be competitive in 6A in Texas...I'm not sold on the Texas High defense but their offense is as good as advertised
Ehhh. They got smoked by Bentonville, who Aledo absolutely slapped around the field a couple years ago. 6A is a stretch on that imo.

I often wondered if Texarkana was even that good, you're talking about a team who barely beat an Arkansas program. Looking over their district it's not very strong. They may be really good, but I don't see all their credentials behind a high ranked team. Although the rankings don't mean much to me., somehow I find it hard to believe that Alamo Heights is in the top three. SA football isn't strong at all

I watched that play and thought he had forward progress, but either way, pretty sure it wasn’t 4th down? Would’ve been either 3rd or 4th and very short
4th and 1

Man they got hosed lol
Glad we aren't the only ones who saw it that way. The refs did all they could. What got me was the first down that didn't happen. He was clearly short. The Texan Live guy couldn't believe a lot of what was going on.

I'm lost why Nederland started at the 40?
-
Mature move of Sunday to stay calm under pressure and throw that strike to the end zone
-
That was a dime. Credit where credit is due. What a pass by Montgomery
-
The refs doing what they can to keep Montgomery in it

We gonna be playing till midnight....
