1. Here is his what the Cards have payed him over the years, including his stats in his first 3 years which he was grossly underpaid.  He deserves ARod money, but I think 10 years is too long unless he finds the Barry Bonds fountain of youth.  ;) I wonder if Brad Lidge thinks he should get paid?  ;D Salary History Year Salary (US $)    2001 $200,000    .329 with 37 homeruns and 130 RBI 2002 $600,000    .314 with 34 homers and 127 RBI  2003 $900,000    .359 with 43 homeruns and 124 RBIs 2004 $7,000,000    2005 $11,000,000  2006 $14,000,000  2007 *$12,937,813 2008 $13,870,949 2009 $14,427,326 2010 $14,595,953
2. Nederland leads OF either 8 or 9 to 0.  I lost count.
3. OSU and Kansas still only have 1 loss and I think both probably stay ahead of tu.  I do think Texas is playing better than anyone in the country right now.
4. No. 13 Wisconsin tops No. 1 Ohio State [Hidden Content]
5.
Rumor has it while the Basketball team is running up and down the court on everyone the white board has been real active at the Pound and spring time will bring more changes than just blooming flowers!
That's the rumor  ;)

7.
I.M.O. Abundance of above average talent makes you an above average team.Great teams almost always have at least two great pitchers.Nederland does not have the shut down pitchers it has had for the last two years. There will be a lot more balls put in play that might  expose a inexperienced outfield IMO.Also Nederlands first pitcher was 1.6 to 1.7 to the plate with runners at first.Teams like P.N.G. with good team speed will have a field day on the bases if he does not get quicker to the plate. The Dogs coaching staff ,which is a good one, will have its hands full finding the best outfield combination to prove me wrong in my above statement.I hope they do! Go Dogs!
No team in the area has a true "shut down" pitcher, at least not yet.  Bellow, Laird, Hester, Hicks, Statum etc. are all playing in college.  The best pitcher returning is probably Stone and he didn't throw many innings last year until the playoffs.  It's time for the new guys to step up and make names for themselves like the ones I mentioned above. 20-4a should be wide open this year.  Whatever team's young pitchers step up, has the best shot at win the district title.
8. When I left in the 4th It was 5-1 BC
9. Zock with a 2 run HR.  5-0 BC mid 2
10. BC gets 3 in the 1st on a few Bulldog errors.
11.
Nederland and PNG both open with 21-3A playoff teams from last year. Nederland travels to West Orange-Stark and PNG will host Bridge City Feb 22.
Admin,  No BC vs. Nederland games this year?  Usually they play a few times in pre-district and the Bulldog Classic.  I guess with no Bulldog Classic this year(for the 1st time in 40+ years  >:( ) they don't play each other at all.  These were usually some pretty competitive games.
12. Felts and Bellow both had rbi's in the game. [Hidden Content]
13. Good video.  It looks like Kirby is getting a lot of playing time. What number was Felts?
14.
Wouldn't this still be a violation if the athlete competed in baseball on tuesday, and ran track on tuesday wednesday or thursday? Or what about a UIL Academic event? What would be the ruling on that and where would the violation be implemented if it is a violation?
I'm not sure.  I don't know if that rule is correct.  How would small schools make it, when their students compete in every sport?
15. An "activity" is a game I think.  Students can only play in 1 game per week on a school night excluding a limited number of tournament and rainouts etc.  Most teams play Tuesday and Friday with Friday not being a school night. I know in the past coaches were able to move the Tuesday games up for weather, but not the Friday game because they had already played one that week. I may be wrong on that, but that is how it was explained to me.
16. Game Monday at 8pm Should be a closer game this time in College Station.
17.
Great 10 day stretch for the horns!  Double-digit wins vs. #11 aTm, @ #2 Kansas, @ Okie Lt, and vs. #13 Mizzou!  They're 6-0 in the Big XII for the first time in school history, and they're already through the meat of their schedule.  They have a big game in College Station on Monday, and after that, they finish conference play against 9 unranked teams.  If they can beat the Ags monday (who are coming off an embarassing loss to Nebraska), they have a fairly reasonable shot at a 16-0 conference record going into the Big XII tourney.
Nebraska was favored to win the game by 2.5 points at home, so I don't see how the loss was that embarrassing.  Nebraska is 15-5 and should make the tourney.  Still A&M didn't come to play and it showed.  They will have to play much better tomorrow against tu to have a chance.
18.

So far our members have them ranked: Any surprises or any club left off ? 1. PNG  63 2. Nederland 59 3. West Brook 57 4. Bridge City 33 5. WOS 22 6. Jasper 15 7. Evadale 10 8. Huffman 9 9. Kelly 8 10. Silsbee 6 10. LCM 6
I wouldn't count out Crosby or Barbers Hill.
I know Crosby will be tough with Gabby on the mound.  He should be one of the top pitchers in the area this year.  Who's their #2? What does BH have coming back?
19.

Not being able to beat an upper classification team means you aren't better than that team.
The point is we do not get the opportunity to even try, since no 5A will ever schedule a 1A team. But each classification has to beat who they are in the class with. The teams in AA or AAA ball never get to play in the MLB World Series, but they get to compete for the championship of their league. We are 1A and being the best 1A is what we shoot for. Now for a final question is being the state champion in 1A better than being a district champion in any other class that gets knocked out short of the state title? Just a question.
Winning the a state title is a huge accomplishment and the boys should be very proud no matter what the classification.  The coaches have recognized Evadale as the best 1A team in the state, but that does not mean they could compete with the bigger schools in the area. I've only seen Evadale play once. It was a few years ago against Nederland's JV that was comprised mostly of freshman.  Nederland knocked out their All State picher in the 2nd inning and went on to win the game easily. The other game that I know of against a bigger school was against WOS last year.  WOS was a 3rd place team that barely made the playoffs and beat Evadale 11-0 in 5 innings.  They will get another shot at a better WOS team this year, so maybe they will prove me wrong. I wish Evadale the best of luck and hope they win state, but when it comes to being on of the best 5 or 10 teams in the area,  I just don't see it.
20. Astros just signed him to a 3 year-$34 million dollar extension.  $11+ mil a year for a 32 year old with a career losing record??  I guess the Stros didn't learn from overpaying Carlos Lee. I knew I should have made my kid a lefty.  ;)
21. Didn't see where J'Covan deserved a technical on that one.
22. He just banked a three in from 25 feet with no time on the shot clock.  Everything is going right for tu the last 7 min.
23. I dosed off for a few minutes.  What the heck happened?
