[Hidden Content] Nederland's tough pre-district schedule should only help them in district and the playoffs.  The Dogs have played some good teams and hung with all of them, with their 3 losses coming by a total of 4 runs.

We have 15 people so far.  Everyone get your brackets turned in before Thursday!

I would think Nederland would save Tyler Smith for the matchup against Stone and PNG this Friday.  I think Duplant will start for Nederland and Anderson for PNG on Tuesday, but what do I know ???  Guess we will find out tomorrow.  :)

Moye was from HJ, and you also have to add Floyd and Sullivan to that list .  Floyd beat Beau Hale 1-0 as a sophmore in the Regional Final at Lamar in one of the best games you could ever watch. The amount of scouts at games in those days was ridiculous.

[/quote] I agree 100%.  We weren't allowed in the house until the street lights came on, now you can't get the kids outside.  I can't remember the last time I have seen a pick up baseball game or kids playing catch in the neighborhood. The only practice kids do is in the cage.  Defense just isn't as important anymore, unless your team plans on making the trip to Austin and playing for the state title.  ;)  Hitting will get you noticed, but pitching and defense win championships.
